Mrs. Sarah Frances Koon Long, age 85, wife of William Long,
of 2617 Meansville Rd., Union, passed away, Thursday July 28,
2011 at her home.
Mrs. Long was born in Union Co., in the Santuck community,
August 3, 1925, a daughter of the late Samuel and Gustie Gregory
Koon. She was a member of Jonesville United Methodist Church and
was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Surviving in addition to her husband of 65 years, are a
daughter: Ann Murphy and husband R.D. of Union; a son: James W.
Long and wife Donna of Jonesville; a sister: Sallie K. Jones of
Union; 12 grandchildren: Amy A. Jarrett, Steve Austin, Tanya L.
Woodward, Jamie L. Chapman, Shawn Murphy, Sarah M. Cobb, Sara
Beth L. Wright; Donald E. Long, Jr., Charlie Long, Will Long,
Patrick Long and Bailey Long; and 10 great-grandchildren. Mrs.
Long was predeceased by a daughter: Hilda L. Austin, two sons:
William F. Long and Donald E. Long, Sr., and a brother: Wesley
Koon.
Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, July 30,
2011 at Gilead Baptist Church Cemetery conducted by Rev. Wayne
Cook, Rev. Dr. Jim Ivey and Rev. David Caughman.
Visitation will be held from 6:30 until 8:00 PM Friday
evening at the Holcombe’s Jonesville Chapel.

Mrs. Mabel Greer Bogan, age 89 of 125 Furman Drive,
Jonesville, SC, widow of Dupre Bogan, went home to be with the
Lord Thursday, July 28, 2011 at her home.
Mrs. Bogan was born in Union, SC October 30, 2011, a daughter
of the late Benjamin Giles Greer and Emma Lawson Greer. She was
formerly employed with Graham Cash in Union. Mrs. Bogan was a
member of Bogansville United Methodist Church where she was a
former Sunday School Teacher; a member of the United Methodist
Women and a choir member for over fifty-five years.
Surviving are a daughter, Judy Fowler and husband Harold; a
son, Johnny Bogan and wife Agnes all of West Springs; a sister,
Mary G. Smith of Union; a sister-in-law, Theo Bogan Hill of West
Springs; four grandchildren: Amelia B. Hart, Andy Bogan, Kristin
F. McDowell, Darren Fowler and David Fowler and twelve
great-grandchildren. Mrs. Bogan was predeceased by five sisters
and two brothers.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Saturday, July 30, 2011
at Bogansville United Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Gary
Peterson and Rev. Dr. Joseph Smith.

Mrs. Wix was born in Union, SC July 6, 1990, a daughter of
Charles Lee, Sr. and Brenda Roe Lee Davis of Buffalo. She was
employed with McDonalds of Union. Mrs.Wix was a loving
daughter, sister and mother.
Surviving in addition to her parents are a daughter, Shandi
Marie Wix of the home; husband, Chad Wix of Jonesville; a
sister, Vicki Toney and husband Rolph of Buffalo; five brothers:
Clint Lee and wife Brooke, Preston J. Lee and wife Marti all of
Union, Charles Lee, Jr and wife Dovie, Mike Lee and wife Phyllis
and Chris Lee all of Buffalo; numerous nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Joy Engeron Todd, age 56, wife of James Todd of 250B
Haywood Street, Buffalo, SC, died Friday, July 22, 2011 at her
home.
Mrs. Todd was born in New Orleans July 25, 1954, a daughter
of the late Anthony Engeron and Yvonne Teresa Hebert Schaubert.
She was of the Catholic Faith.
Surviving two a daughters, Martha Maturin and Shelia Todd
both of Buffalo; six sons: Anthony Maturin and Benjamin Maturin
both of LA, Nolan Maturin and Terry Engeron both of AR, Grady
Todd and James Todd, II both of Chadbourn, NC; thirty-eight
grandchildren; four sisters: Donna Allaman of LA, Elaine, Oliva
and Jackie Engeron all of MS; six brothers: Tony Engeron of AL,
David Postoe, Galen Postoe, James "JJ" Schaubert, Jr., Michael
Engeron all of LA., and Johnny Engeron; step-parents: Barbara
Thomas, Rochell Postoe and James Schaubert, SR. all of LA. Mrs.
Todd was predeceased by two brothers, Anthony Engeron, Jr. and
Little Anthony Engeron; maternal grandparents: Martha and
Benjamin Hebert and parental grandparents: Natile and Eugene
Engeron. She was also predeceased in death by her first husband
Nolan Maturin and his parents, Joseph and Zophil Maturin and her
in-laws, Donnie and Inez Todd.

Mr. Armel Dennis Revels, age 78, husband of Elizabeth V.
Revels of 2418 Lockhart Hwy., Union, died Saturday, July 23,
2011 at Oakmont of Union.
Mr. Revels was born in Pacolet, SC June 16, 1933. He was a
graduate of Pacolet High School and was a veteran of the United
States Marines Corps. Following his military service he worked
in textiles. Mr. Revels was a member of Browns Creek Baptist
Church and Claudie Williams’ Sunday School Class. He was a
volunteer at Wallace Thomson Hospital and was a member of the
Travel Club-Union County Senior Citizens.
Surviving in addition to his wife are, a step-daughter Mary
Ella Diamond of Melborne, Fla., Two stepsons, Bruce Bobo and
wife Sandra of Union and Mike Vanderford and wife Patricia of
Lake Greenwood, SC and one grandson Jim Diamond of Melborne,
Fla.
Cryptside Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, July 25,
2011 at Union ;Memorial Gardens Mausoleum conducted by the Rev.
John Lee and the Rev. Benny Green.

She was born in Union, SC., August 10, 1935, a daughter of
the late Hoss Horne and Nannie Vanderford Horne. She was a
member Philippi Baptist Church and retired from United
Merchants-Union Plant.
Surviving are two daughters: Penny Walker and husband Mike
and Amanda Weaver all of Union; two granddaughters: Crystal
Nicole and Christina Michelle Walker; one brother: Lewis Horne
and wife Mamie Lou all of Union; and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Reynolds was predeceased by a son Ricky Reynolds and six
brothers and five sisters.
Funeral Services will be held 1:00 PM Tuesday, July 26, 2011
at Gilead Baptist Church conducted by Brad Goodale. Burial will

Mr. Robert Virgil Toney, age 83, husband of Virginia
Hutcherson Toney, of 105 Barron Street, Union, SC., died
Saturday, July 23, 2011.
Mr. Toney was born in Jefferson, GA., October 9, 1927, a son
of the late Lindsey Miller Toney and Bertha Lee Toney. A US Army
Veteran of World War II, he served in the Pacific Theater. In
1993, Mr. Toney retired from Cone Mills where he worked at the
Carlisle Finishing Plant for more than thirty years. He was a
certified master gardener through the Clemson Extension and
shared the bountiful harvest from his garden with family,
friends and neighbors. A member of the Church of God, he was a
lay preacher and Sunday School teacher. In more recent years, he
attended Westside Baptist Church now known as Crestview Baptist
Church. Mr. Toney was also a member of the American Legion Post
22. Mr. Toney was a beloved husband, father and grandfather.
He is survived by his loving wife of sixty-one years,
Virginia Hutcherson Toney; a son: Robert Miller Toney;
granddaughter: Shannon Toney Smith and her husband Michael;
grandson: Robert Paul Toney and wife Jennifer and
great-grandchildren: Rachael Brianne, Samantha Marie, Charlotte
Elizabeth and Cathrine Renee Toney. Mr. Toney was predeceased by
five brothers: Lindsey Miller "LM" Toney, Jr., James Toney,
Holbert Toney, Wilber Toney and Grady Toney; and two sisters:
Mamie Upton and Nellie Willard.
Mr. Toney was a beloved husband, father and grandfather.
Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM, Tuesday, July 26, 2011
at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Chapel conducted by Rev. Johnny
Burgess. Burial will be at Union Memorial Gardens, where there
will be a brief graveside service with military honors.

Friday, July 22, 2011, at Agape
Senior of Conway.
Mrs. Fallaw was born in Union
on December 19, 1931, to Howard Franklin Whitehead and
Evie Pruitt Whitehead. She was married to the love of her
life, the late Charles Randolph Fallaw, with whom she had
three children: Mary Charlotte, William Franklin, and John
Harley.
They were married for 48 years.
Mrs. Fallaw
was a graduate of Union High School and worked with the
South Carolina Department of Public Welfare, later known
as the South Carolina
Department of Social Services, for 41 years and retired as
Chief Stenographer. She was fluent in short hand. After
retirement, she volunteered for family and friends
providing transportation and baking numerous items that
were enjoyed by a multitude of people. She worked for a
time with the Union County Chapter of the American Red
Cross. She was primary care-giver for her husband after he
suffered a massive stroke, allowing him to remain at home
until his death in July 1998. She was a stalwart for her
daughter-in-law, the Reverend Patty Griffith-Fallaw, and
her family during Patty's illness and subsequent death
from a recurrence of breast cancer. Mrs. Fallaw was a
life-long member of Westside Baptist Church, where she was
baptized and married. She was a member of Crestview
Baptist Church, formerly Westside Baptist Church. She was
a woman of unshakable faith, determination,
and
offered untiring support for her husband, children,
brothers, sister, and in-laws. She
will
be sorely missed.
Mrs. Fallaw is survived by her
children, Mary Bailey, Billy and Jo Anna Fallaw, and John
and Dawn Fallaw; grandchildren, Kevin and Mark Bailey,
Will, Ann Morgan, and Ross Fallaw, and John Simmons and
Grayson Fallaw; great grandchild, Jackson Bailey; brother,
Randolph Whitehead,
and sister, Minnie Lawson; and
a host of loving nieces and nephews. She was predeceased
by husband, Randy; brothers, Frank, W.H., Ben, and Ed; and
daughter-in-law, the Reverend Patty Griffith-Fallaw.
Graveside
service will be held in Union at Forest Lawn Cemetery on
Monday, July 25, at 11:00 A.M., with the Reverend Dr.
Douglas Bowling and the Reverend Josh Freeman
officiating.
The family is

Mrs. Rogers was born in Union County, SC November 29, 1927, a
daughter of the late Robert T. Lancaster and Willie Mae Lamb
Lancaster. She was a graduate of West Springs High School and
retired from Carlisle Finishing Plant after twenty-eight years
of service. Mrs. Rogers was a member of Bogansville United
Methodist Church where she was a member of the Ladies Circle; a
member of the United Methodist Women and also served on the
Hostess Committee.
Surviving are a son, Steve Rogers and wife Jeanie of West
Columbia, SC; a sister, Ferol Youngblood and husband Ray of
Buffalo; two brothers: Alvin Lancaster and wife Frances of
Buffalo and Alvis Jim Lancaster and wife Peggy of Warrenville,
NC; two sisters-in-law: Priscilla Lancaster of Buffalo and
Gloria Gowan and husband Mickey of West Springs; a number of
nieces and nephews and four loving step-daughters. Mrs. Rogers
was predeceased by a brother, Donald Lancaster.

Mrs. Jenkins was born in Bennettsville, SC, Sept. 26, 1942, a
daughter of the late Furman S. Rivers and Mary Curtis Rivers
Bentley. She was a graduate of Fort Mill High School, Anderson
College and Winthrop College. Mrs. Jenkins was a retired school
teacher having taught at Buffalo Elementary School. She was a
member of Cane Creek Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Kelly S. Jenkins of the home and
Jennifer J. Jansen of Union; two sons, Richard E. Jenkins and
wife Linda and their three children, Richard, William and Collin
Jenkins, all of McConnells, SC, and Ralph R. Jenkins of Atlanta,

Humphries and Alma Smith Mitchell. She retired from the textile
industry and was a faithful member of First Baptist Church and
was a member of the Eastern Star.

Mr. Boyd Raymond Reardon, age 83 husband of Margaret Gregory
Reardon, of 317 North First St. Lockhart, SC, died Friday, July
15, 2011 at his home.
Mr. Reardon was born in New Zion, SC on November 28, 1927, a
son of the late Philip Bune Reardon and Mary Lorena Burns
Reardon.
A veteran of the Korean Conflict, Mr. Reardon was a
supervisor with Milliken Lockhart Plant. He was a member of
Lockhart Presbyterian Church where he served as an elder and
Adult Sunday School teacher. He was a member of the Lockhart
Fire Department.
Mr. Reardon was an avid hunter and golfer and enjoyed
gardening.
Surviving in addition to his wife Margaret are a son; Keith
Reardon and wife Kim of Union, a daughter; Norma Bickley and
husband Les of Chapin, SC, He was a devoted grandfather to his
granddaughter Kira Reardon. Also surviving are a brother;
Carroll Reardon of Walterboro, SC and a sister; Nell Welsh of
Goose Creek, SC.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM, Sunday July 17,
3011 at Lockhart Presbyterian Church conducted by Rev. Brad
Goodale and Rev. Steve Lemons. Burial will follow in Union
Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Watkins was born in Union, November 6, 1918, a daughter
of the late Robert Ernest Foster and O.B. Brannon Foster. She
was a graduate of Union High School and attended Limestone
College. Mrs. Watkins served as secretary at the First
Presbyterian Church for many years and worked along side her
husband at Watkins Marine and Equipment. She also worked for the
Girls Scouts and was involved with the Welcome Wagon of Union
Co.
Surviving are a daughter: Gail Dinkins and husband Andrew of
Clemmons, NC; a son: Tommy Watkins and companion Patsy Willard
of Union; two sisters: Mamie LeFevre of St. Angelo, TX and Betty
Ready of Columbia; one brother: Bob Foster and wife Beth of
Edisto Island; a brother-in-law: Ken Fujishiro and wife Daisy of

Mr. Thompson was born in Union, October 1, 1963, a son of
Carrie Mae Brewington Thomspon of Buffalo and the late Jackie
Earl Thompson, Sr. He was employed with Milliken Co., Cedar Hill
Plant and was a member of Jonesville Baptist Church.

Mrs. Marie Quinn Heatherly, age 89, widow of S.J. Heatherly,
formerly of 3431 Buffalo West Springs Hwy., passed away,
Wednesday, July 13. 2011 at Ellen Sagar Nursing Home after a
period of declining health.
Mrs. Heatherly was born in Spartanburg, September 25, 1921, a
daughter of the late Claude and Ollie Kimbrell Quinn. She was
retired from Dan River Mills and was a member of West Springs
Baptist Church.
Surviving are two daughters: Judy Adams and husband George of
Union and Linda West and husband Bobby of Buffalo; two sons:
Ronald Heatherly and wife Sarah of Jonesville and Marty
Heatherly and wife Kathy of Union; two sisters: Veral Barfield
and Myrtle Pruitt and husband Willie all of Union; 18
grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and numerous
great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Heatherly was predeceased by a
granddaughter, Tina Frost and a great-granddaughter: Hunter
Bright, five sisters and two brothers.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Friday, July 15, 2011
at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Chapel conducted by Rev. Broadus
Heatherly and Rev. Ricky Cook. Burial will be in West Springs
Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr.
Dennis Eugene Cady, age 53, husband of Donna Gregory Cady, of
3080 Jonesville-Lockhart Highway, Union, died suddenly, Monday,
July 11, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.
Mr.
Cady was born in Norfolk, VA, June 25, 1958, a son of Ollie D.
Cleveland Cady Butts of Roundo, SC, and the late Ernest Joseph
Cady. He was a heavy equipment mechanic and a member of
Philippi Baptist Church. Mr. Cady was also a member of the NRA,
an avid Harley Davidson motorcyclist and an artist.
Surviving in addition to his wife are a daughter: Stephanie
Cady, of Union; a son: Dennis Milsap of Summerville; three
grandchildren: Shyann Jones reared in the home, Tia Jones and Ty
Jones, II; a stepson: Ty Jones of Buffalo; a stepfather: William
H. Butts of Roundo, SC; three brothers: Ernest Joseph "EJ" Cady
and wife Sandra of Charleston, David Duane Cady of Dallas, and
Timothy Allen Cady and wife Janie Reane of Tampa, FL; a niece:
Taylor Nichole Cady of Tampa; and three nephews: Daniel Duane
Cady, Joseph Curren Cady, both of Beaumont, TX, and Bryce Allen

Retired from Highway Patrol
Harold Gene Wix, 76, husband of Sylvia Hughes Wix, went home
to be with his Lord on Sunday, July 10, 2011. Mr. Wix was born
in Union County, S.C., and was predeceased by his parents,
Veston and Lillian Harris Wix and his first wife, Judy Knox Wix.
Mr. Wix was a member of Grace Baptist Church and was retired
from the South Carolina Highway Patrol. He also served in the
United States Air Force.
Mr.Wix was a faithful servant of our Lord and Savior Jesus
Christ. He enjoyed Baptist lay ministry by teaching and
preaching the Word of God for more than 40 years. A talented
musician, Mr.Wix was well- known for playing his beloved banjo.
Surviving in addition to his wife are a daughter, Rhonda
Black and husband, Al, of Union; a son, Darron Wix of
Jonesville; two stepsons, Jay Duke of Florence and Ben Duke and
wife Chris of Hickory, N.C.; grandchildren: Maranda, Eric,
Kristie, Kayla, Matthew, Andrew, Cameron, Addison and Charlotte;
his stepmother, Wilma Wix; and sister, Doris Wix.
Visitation will be held Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at
Holcombe’s Jonesville Chapel.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 13,
2011 at Holcombe’s Jonesville Chapel, conducted by Dr. Edward
McAbee. Burial will be in Jonesville Memorial Gardens with S.C.
Highway Patrol Honors.

Mr. Haywood W. "Woody" Robertson, Jr. age 55, husband of
Terri Stevens Robertson of 111 Jenkins Street, Union, SC went
home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, July 5, 2011 at Spartanburg
Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Robertson was born in Union County, SC October 22, 1955,
a son of the late Haywood W. Robertson, Sr and Virginia Arthur
Robertson. He was a 1974 graduate of Union High School and had
attended college. He was formerly employed with Conso Products,
Bilo, Union Daily Times and Holcombe Funeral Home. Mr. Robertson
was a former member of S.C. National Guard - Union Unit for
twenty-two years and attended Bethel United Methodist Church.
Surviving in addition to his wife are a daughter, Stacey
Cochran and husband Chris of Jonesville; a mother-in-law, Betty
Stevens of Union; two grandchildren: Taryn Alyssa Cochran and
Camryn Paige Cochran both of Jonesville; a sister-in-law, Sharon
Stevens of Union; a number of aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Friday, July 8, 2011 at
SR Holcombe Funeral Chapel conducted by Rev. Ricky Cook and Rev.
Robert Chapman. Burial will be in Rosemont Cemetery.

Mr. Talmadge Bobo, age 72, husband of Judy Sprouse Bobo of
101 Sprouse St., Union, passed away Sunday, July 3, 2011 at his
home surrounded by his family and friends.
Mr. Bobo was born in Union, October 23, 1938, a son of the
late Roy and Anna Mae Ingle Bobo. He retired from Cone Mill,
Carlisle Finishing Plant and was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two daughters: Gayle
Bobo of Clinton and Renee Calhoun and husband Wayne of Buffalo;
three sons: Timbo Bobo of Union, Johnny Bobo and James Sprouse
both of McCormick; a nephew: Scotty O’Shields of Union; a
special caregiver: Victoria ; 5 grandchildren and 8
great-grandchildren. Mr. Bobo was predeceased by a sister Norma
O’Shields.

Mr. Dennis H. Stevens age 71, husband of Joan White Stevens
of 5021 Buffalo-West Springs Hwy., went home to be with the
Lord, Sunday, July 3, 2011 after an extended illness.
Mr. Stevens was born and raised in the West Springs
community, November 8, 1939, a son of the late Henry and Jaynell
Hyatt Stevens. He was a graduate of Jonesville High School and
retired from Lancaster Paints. Mr. Stevens had formerly worked
with the SC Dept of Transportation and was a member of
Bogansville United Methodist Church, where he had served on the
cemetery committee. He was a life time Mason, a member of the
Sons of the Confederate Veterans - States Rights Camp and was
very active in the West Springs community.
Surviving in addition to his wife are a son: Tim Stevens and
wife Rhonda; a sister: Donna Edens and husband Robert; a
granddaughter: Andrea Stevens and friend Wells Allen all of West
Springs; a brother-in-law: Tommy Cunningham of Jonesville and
several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Stevens was predeceased by a sister: Yvonne S.
Cunningham, and a brother: Gerald Stevens.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, July 5, 2011
at Bogansville United Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Gary

Mrs. Jessie Mae Inman Jolly, age 88, formerly of Lockhart,
widow of Dean Jolly, passed away Saturday, July 2, 2011 at
Oakmont Nursing Home.
Mrs. Jolly was born in Union Co., September 18, 1922 a
daughter of the late Joe and Corrine Sanders Inman. She retired
from Ellen Sagar Nursing Home as a nurses aide and was a member
of Mt. Joy Baptist Church. Mrs. Jolly was first married to the
late W.K. Eaves.
Surviving are a nephew: Larry Inman and friend Dorothy Sutton
of Jonesville; two great-nieces: Monica Inman Watkins of Union
and Alaina Inman of Jonesville; two great-great nephews: A.J.
Inman and Cohen Watkins; and several other nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Jolly was predeceased by a sister: Nellie Ruth Burgess and
three brothers: Reuben, Robert and Odell Inman.
Graveside services will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, July 3,
2011 at Union Memorial Gardens conducted by Rev. Steve Lemons.
Visitation will be held at the cemetery immediately following
the services.

daughter of the late Elmer Bobo and Kate Stevens Bobo. She was a
graduate of Cross Anchor High School and was a member of
Padgett’s Creek Baptist Church.Mrs. Ward retired from Conso
Products.
Surviving are a son, Bucky Ward of Union; two brothers: Bill
Bobo and wife Kate of Laurens and Frank Bobo of Union; two
sisters-in-law: Dot Bobo and Eloise Wilson both of Union; a
number of nieces and nephews. Mrs. Ward was predeceased by seven
brothers and sisters.
