Christie Eubanks Parker, age 33, wife of Phillip Alan Parker, of 207 Hillcrest Dr., Union, SC, went to be with the Lord, Sunday, July 2, 2006, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Parker was born in Union, April 17, 1973 a daughter of Brenda Eubank Monroe of Union. Mrs. Parker was a graduate of Union High School class of 1991 and received her Bachelor degree in nursing from USC-Upstate. She received her Master’s degree in nursing from the University of South Carolina. She was employed with Spartanburg Regional Medical Center as Coordinator for the palliative care for over 10 years. She previously had worked as a registered nurse in oncology with inpatient Hospice and with oncology reasearch. Mrs. Parker was a member of Morningside Baptist Church.

Surviving in addition to her husband and mother are three sons: Dustin Ochiltree, Brett Ochiltree and Gabriel Parker all of the home, one sister: Monica Quinn of Union and one brother: Chad Monroe of Union; her mother-in-law: Alma Parker of Pacolet. Mrs. Parker was predeceased by her maternal grandparents: Harold and Betty Eubanks.

Funeral services will be held 4:00 PM Wednesday, July 5, 2006 at Morningside Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Eddie Saxon. Burial will be in Union Memorial Gardens.

Active pallbearers will be Terry Hollingsworth, Tim Hollingsworth, Bobby Hall, Marty Robinson, Mike Lancaster and Curtis

Sara Keisler Berry
Union, S.C.

Mrs. Sara Keisler Berry, age 76, of 1202 S. Pinckney St., Union, died Sunday, July 2, 2006, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center after a brief illness.

Mrs. Berry was born in Union, July 5, 1930, a daughter of the late Wallace and Bernice Gregory Keisler. She retired after 30 years of service to the public. She was a lifetime member of Tabernacle Baptist Church where she was a member of the Catherine Williams Sunday school class. Mrs. Berry loved all of members and cherished each and every one of them.

Surviving are two daughters: Elizabeth A. Lesesne of Greenville and Ginger L. Berry of the home; two grandchildren: Ashleigh Elizabeth Lesesne of Greenville and Kailan Wylie McWhorter of the home. She will be missed by all her family and friends.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, July 5, 2006 at Tabernacle Baptist Church conducted by Pastor Roger Estes. Burial will be in Union Memorial Gardens.

Active pallbearers will be Billy Medford, Tra Wilkinson, Gene Gregory, Don Cody and Jody Hamrick.

The following are asked to assemble at the church at 10:45 AM Wednesday to form the honorary escort: Sam White, Andy Wactor, Elmer Rector and Tommy McManess.

Mr. Fred Richard Bailey, age 82, widower of Earmease Bailey of 706 Beatty’s Bridge Rd., Union, SC died Thursday, July 6, 2006 at his home.

Mr. Bailey was born in Union, SC September 28, 1923 a son of the late George Bolt Bailey and Ethel Young Bailey. He retired from Milliken & Co.- Ottaray Plant and Lockhart Plant after forty-four years of service. Mr. Bailey was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. He was first married to the late Alma Harris Bailey.

Survivors are; two daughters: Margaret Betenbaugh and husband Don and Sue Adams and husband Joe all of Union, a son; Marvin Richard Bailey of Florida, four sisters; Ann Sanders and husband J.B., Frances Nelson all of Union, Dolly Leitner of Blackstock and Mabel Campbell and husband Cliff of Spartanburg, ten grandchildren; Donnie R. Betenbaugh and wife Crystal of Union, Donna Farmer and husband Scott of Spartanburg, Dawn Stoner and husband Stuart of Columbia, Michelle Peake and husband Michael of Union, Michael Adams and wife Jennifer of Union, Paul Adams and wife Summer of Franklin, NC, Jerry Adams of Union , Seth Bailey, Joelle Bailey and Shawnee Bailey all of Florida and eleven great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, July 8, 2006 at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses conducted by Brother Arthur Stevens and Brother Robert Tucker.

Mr. Danny Ray Garner, age 60 of 329 Vernon Foster Rd., Union, SC died Thursday, July 6, 2006 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Garner was born in Union, SC June 19, 1946, a son of the late Herbert Garner and Helen Peigler Garner. He was a construction worker and was of the Baptist Faith.

Survivors are; a special friend: Sue Lipford of the home, a step-daughter: Robin Gregory, a step-son: Dennis Sailors, Jr. two sisters: Linda Helton and Patsy Shetley both of Union, three brothers: Kenneth Peigler of Union, Ronnie Garner and Terry Garner both of Whitmire, three grandchildren: Trey Sailors, Cassie Sailors and Bridgett Gregory and a number of nieces and nephews. Mr. Garner was predeceased by a son, Kenneth Wesley Garner.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, July 8, 2006 at S.R. Holcombe Funeral Chapel conducted by Rev. Kenneth Weaver. Burial will be in Union Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Dorothy Gowan "Ma Dot" Henderson, age 77, wife of V.D. Henderson of 486 Bogan Rd., Jonesville, SC died Friday, July 7, 2006 peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family..

Mrs. Henderson was born in Union County of SC December 19, 1928 a daughter of the late Jim Gowan and Ruth Carter Gowan and was a life long resident of the West Springs Community. She was a graduate of West Springs High School and was a life long member of Bogansville United Methodist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Surviving in addition to her husband are; two sons: David Henderson and wife Jackie and Wayne Henderson and wife June, a brother: Jimmy Gowan and wife Dianne all of West Springs, a sister: Betty Bullock and husband Tommy of Jackson, Tn, four grandchildren: Mica Duncan and husband Tripp, Emily Gibson and husband Michael, Mindy Tyler and husband Michael and Misty Henderson, seven great-grandchildren: Jacob, Grayson, Camryn, Conner, Caroline, Tanner and Mason.

Funeral Services will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, July 9, 2006 at Bogansville United Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Gary Peterson and Rev. Clayton Price. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Louise Porter Orr
Winston-Salem, NC

Mrs. Louise Porter Orr, age 104, widow of Daniel B. Orr, died Saturday, July 8, 2006 at the Reynolda Park Assisted Living in Winston Salem NC.

Mrs. Orr was born in Union Co., March 15, 1902 a daughter of the late Joseph Newton Porter and Edna Theadora Tracy Porter. Mrs. Orr moved to Winston-Salem 22 years ago after the passing of her husband. She was the oldest member of Philippi Baptist Church and always commented of what a blessing it was to be remember by her church and its members in South Carolina. Mrs. Orr was the last surviving member of 12 siblings.

Surviving are a daughter: Alcie Byars and husband, Howard of Winston-Salem; a granddaughter: Karen Van Nostrand and husband Jay; a great-granddaughter: Christy Van Nostrand and a great-grandson: Steven Mark Sutton all of Plemmons, NC. Mrs Orr was predeceased by a grandson: Daniel Howard Byars.

Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM Monday, July 10, 2006 at Philippi Baptist Church Cemetery by Rev. Brad Goodale.

Visitation will be 7:00 until 9:00 PM Sunday evening at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home.

Patsy Vinson Barnado
Union, S.C.

Mrs. Patsy Vinson Barnado, age 60, wife of Bruce D. Barnado of 175 South Fork Rd., Union, died Friday, July 7, 2006 at the Palmetto- Richland Hospital in Columbia.

Mrs. Barnado was born in Spartanburg Co., April 26, 1946, a daughter of the late Thomas Ansel Vinson and Mattie Pearl White Vinson. She was a 1964 graduate of Jonesville High School and attended Cecil’s Business College. Mrs. Barnado retired from Urgent Care in Union and had previously worked at Wallace Thomson Hospital. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church where she had taught Sunday School for over 30 years and was serving as a trustee of the church. Mrs. Barnado had also served her church as a deacon, elder and treasurer.

Surviving in addition to her husband are one son: Timothy Bruce Barnado and wife Heather of Union; three sisters: Linda Jarrett and husband Harold of Jonesville, Diane Coleman and husband Earl and Joan Sprouse and husband Robert all of Union; one granddaughter: Reagan Nicole Barnado and a number of nieces and nephews. Mrs. Barnado was predeceased by a brother: Albert William Vinson.

Funeral services will be held 5:00 PM Monday, July 10, 2006 at the First Presbyterian Church by Rev. Robert Alexander. Burial will be in New Hope United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Chris Nance, Mickey Atkins, Thomas H. White, IV, Norris Fowler, James Frank Christie and James Allen Christie.

Visitation will be Monday from 3:00 until 5:00 PM prior to the service at the church.

Myrna Kathleen B. Kennedy
Union, S.C.

Myrna Kathleen Boaze Kennedy fell into the arms of her Lord on July 9, 2006. There she awaits her devoted husband, Barham Foster Kennedy II and her sons Albert Gibert Kennedy, III, Thomas Perrin Kennedy III, and Barham Foster Kennedy III. Her grandchildren, Kathleen Grace Kennedy, Albert Gibert Kennedy IV, Thomas Perrin Kennedy IV, and Foster Kennedy miss her greatly.

Myrna Kennedy was born on August 2, 1932 in Appomattox, Virginia and spent her childhood there. As a young woman she moved with her mother, Alta Pugh Boaze Hopkins to Atlanta, Georgia where she met and later married a young chemical engineer, Barham Foster (Bannie) Kennedy II. Over the next 40 years they raised a family while moving through a succession of homes in Tennessee, Virginia, North Carolina, Delaware, Tokyo, and Singapore following the demands of Mr. Kennedy’s work with the DuPont Company.

As her children grew up and left home, Mrs. Kennedy turned more and more to her twin vocations: first, as a servant to our holy Church, and secondly, as a sponsor to those suffering from addictions to alcohol and drugs. In the final weeks of her illness, the byways to her hospital rooms and home were filled by people whose lives she had so deeply touched.

Funeral services will be held, 11:00 AM, Tuesday, July 11, 2006 at First Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in Rosemont Cemetery.

The family will receive Monday evening from 7:00 until 9:00 PM at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home.

Mr. Clarence Julius Puckett, Jr., age 50 of Panama City, Fl., formerly of Union, SC died Sunday, July 9, 2006 at Panama City, Fl.

Mr. Puckett was born in Union, SC February 29, 1956, a son of the late Clarence "Puck" Puckett and Janie Louise Gregory Puckett. He was reared in the home of his grandmother, the late Louise Holcombe Gregory. Mr. Puckett was a deep sea fisherman and worked for Hunts Oyster Bar in Panama City, Fl. He was of the Baptist Faith.

Survivors are; three daughters: Julie Woods of Union, Janie Leigh Coleman and Jennifer Nicole Smith both of Augusta, Ga., a son: C.J. Puckett of Union, a sister: Sandra Seymore and husband Clyde of Union, four grandchildren: Damian Woods, Hunter Woods, Trinity Woods all of Union and Catie Madison Coleman and Caleb Joel Coleman of Augusta, Ga., two nephews: Chad Seymore and Tim Seymore, an uncle: Ray Gregory, a special aunt & uncle: Joyce & Terry Brown and a special cousin: Donnie Davis.

Memorial services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, July 15, 2006 at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Chapel conducted by Rev. Alton Stone and Donnie Vinson.

Mrs. Argel Fowler Sumner, age 84, widow of Nathaniel "Boogie" Sumner of 1817 Jonesville Hwy., Union, SC died Thursday, July 13, 2006 at Ellen Sagar Nursing Home.

Mrs. Sumner was born in Union, SC May 20, 1922, a daughter of the late Earl and Rose Alexander Whiting. She was a retired Textile worker and was a member of Westside Baptist Church.

Survivors are; a daughter: Diane Taus, a son: David Fowler both of Union, a sister: Edith Fowler Sanlin of Union, two step-daughters: Diane Burgess of Jonesville and Brenda Giles of Spartanburg, two step-sons: Roger Sumner of Union and Nathan Sumner of Jonesville, nine grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Mrs. Sumner was predeceased by a two sons: Ronnie Fowler and Lonnie Ray "Dude" Fowler, a step-daughter: Lou Inman, two step-sons: Pete Sumner and Clarence "Tink" Sumner.

Mrs. Thelma Millwood Ray Martin, age 95, widow of Elak R. Martin, formerly of 1600 Main Street, Buffalo, SC went home to be with the Lord Thursday, July 13, 2006.

Mrs. Martin was born in Buffalo, SC September 2, 1910, a daughter of the late William M. and Anzie I. Willard Millwood. She retired from United Merchants-Buffalo Plant and was a member of Buffalo Baptist Church. Mrs. Martin was a great inspiration to all her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors are; three sons: Jesse Ray, Jr of Union, Jack Ray and wife Elsie of Buffalo and Billy Ray and wife Vera Jean of Myrtle Beach, two brothers: James Millwood of Buffalo and Bobby Joe Millwood of Union, ten grandchildren: Linda Howell, Brenda Burton and husband Ronnie and Jane Reyner all of Greenville, Happy Parker and husband Glen of Aiken, Reesa Driver and husband Andy of N. Augusta, Stephen Ray and wife Regina of Pacolet, Melanie Ray of Spartanburg, Andy Ray and wife Pam of Union, Lisa Altman and husband Ron and Ben Ray all of Myrtle Beach, seventeen great-grandchildren, sixteen great-great-grandchildren and three special nieces: Diane Dorland, Anzie Parks and Lynn Culpepper. Mrs. Martin was predeceased by two brothers: Roger Millwood and Herbert Millwood.

Dianne Lowe Thompson, age 60, widow of Ted Edward Thompson, of 117B Robinhood Circle, Union, SC died Saturday, July 15, 2006 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center after a brief illness.

Mrs. Thompson was born in Union, SC , December 19, 1945, a daughter of the late John Cavin Lowe and Virginia Greer Lowe Wilbanks. She graduated from Union High School and was employed with the South Carolina Department Of Juvenile Justice- Upstate Evaluation Center. Mrs. Thompson was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church.

Survivors are; two sons: Ricky Thompson and wife Cindy and Phillip Thompson and wife Andrea all of Union, one grandson: Gavin Cole Thompson, three granddaughters: Makayla Thompson, Aubrey Thompson, and Alyssa Thompson and a brother: John M. Lowe, Sr. and wife Deloris of Union.

Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM Monday, July 17, 2006 at Rosemont Cemetery conducted by the Rev. Roger Plemmons.

Mr. Harold "Do" Dean Turner, age 67, husband of Peggy Cagle Turner of 178 Wild Turkey Lane, Pacolet, SC died Saturday, July 15, 2006 at Mary Black Memorial Hospital after a brief illness.

Mr. Turner was born in Union, SC, July 18, 1938, a son of Bertha Patterson Turner of Jonesville and the late George Washington Turner, Sr. He was a retired textile worker and attended the Jonesville Church of God.

Surviving in addition to his wife and mother are: a daughter: Virginia Babb and husband Donald of Putman, two sons: Jerry Turner and wife Rhonda of Pacolet, and James Turner and wife Vickie of Jonesville, two sisters: Virginia Roberts and husband Frank, and Hazel Millwood all of Jonesville, three brothers: Loyd Turner and wife Thelma and G.W. Turner and wife Joyce all of Jonesville, and Noah Turner and wife Becky of Union, eight grandchildren: Mandy Turner, Brad Turner, Taylor Turner, Charity Thompson, Jesseca Thompson, Christine Toth, Donielle Babb and James Turner Jr. and thirteen great- grandchildren. Mr. Turner was predeceased by a son Harold Loyd Turner, a sister and a brother Myrtle Keith, and Loftin Turner.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, July 18, 2006 at Putman Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Roger Byrd. Burial will be at Jonesville Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. M. Louise Moore, age 94, widow of James Nelson Moore, formerly of 285 Balsam St., Union, died Sunday, July 16, 2006 at Wallace Thomson Hospital.

Mrs. Moore was born in Union, May 11, 1912, a daughter of the late John McKeown and Maggie McKeown Smith. She was retired from Milliken Co., Monarch Plant and was the oldest member of Morningside Baptist Church.

Surviving are nieces and nephews: Marian English, Mildred Farr, James Austin, and Ralph (Doc) Austin all of Union. She was predeceased by two sisters, Kate Austin and Madru Wynn.

Graveside services will be held 3:00 PM Tuesday, July 18, 2006 at Rosemont Cemetery by Rev. Eddie Saxon and Rev. Grady Ghent.

The family will receive friends Monday evening from 7:00 until 8:30 PM at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home.

Mrs. Catherine Barnett Todd, age 74, widow of Thadius B. "Joe" Todd, Jr., of 296 Meansville Rd., Brittany Manor Apts. Apt. B3, , Union, SC died at her home Monday, July 17, 2006.

Mrs. Todd was born in Union, SC, January 28, 1932, a daughter of the late Joseph Hezekiah "Hez" Barnett and Lois Jett Barnett. She formerly owned and operated Todd’s Upholstery. Mrs. Todd was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church where she was a member of the United Methodist Women, the Senior Adult Sunday School Class and was a former Sunday School teacher.

Mr. Ronnie Dale Fowler, Sr., age 48, husband of Deborah Easler Fowler, of 711 River Drive, Spartanburg, SC died Wednesday, July 19, 2006 at his home after a sudden illness.

Mr. Fowler was born in Jonesville, July 31, 1957 a son of the late Jack Lamar Fowler and Margaret Berry Fowler. He was employed with Clifton Storage and was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving in addition to his wife are; a daughter: Angel Suzanne Messer of Gaffney, a son: Ronnie Dale Fowler, Jr. of Spartanburg, a sister: Rachel Annette Brown and husband Steve of Jonesville, a brother: Billy Lamar Fowler of Goucher Community and two grandchildren: Megan Breanne Messer and Steven Chase Messer.

Graveside services will be held 6:00 PM Friday, July 21, 2006 at Gilead Baptist Church cemetery.

Dennis "BB" Gregory

Mr. Dennis "BB" Gregory, age 35, husband of April Holt Gregory of 3446 Lockhart Hwy., Union SC went home to be with his Lord Thursday, July 20, 2006. "BB" died at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center in Spartanburg, SC from injuries sustained in an automobile accident on July 19, 2006.

"BB" was the youngest son of Bruce Gregory of Union and the late Ann Stewart Gregory and was born in Union, SC March 10, 1971. He was employed with Nestle/Stouffers in Gaffney, SC and was formerly employed with Webb Forging. "BB" was a member of Brown’s Creek Baptist Church. He graduated Union High School and was an avid fan and supporter of Carolina Scream, a girls’ traveling softball team of which his oldest daughter was a team member and other girls’ softball teams in the past. He actively and lovingly supported both his daughters’ many activities and interests. "BB" also loved NASCAR auto racing, dirt tract racing, football games, fishing and spending time with his family and friends.

"BB" is survived in addition to his wife and father by two daughters: Brittany Ann Gregory and Marissa Gregory both of the home, two brothers: Jimmy Gregory and wife Rhonda, Ronnie Gregory and wife Nichole all of Union, maternal grandmother: Louise Stewart of Clover, father and mother in law: Don and Terri West, seven nephews: Dustan Gregory, Nathan Gregory, Tyler Gregory, Colby Gregory, Brett Gregory, Owen Gregory and Aaron West, two nieces: Ingrid West and Haylee West all of Union, brother in law: Billy West, several aunts and uncles and other family members. "BB" was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Mamie Lou and Alan Gregory.

Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, July 23, 2006 at Brown’s Creek Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Matt Williamson. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Lillian Vinson Sherbert, age 91, widow of William Caleb Sherbert, formerly of Church St., Buffalo, went to be with the Lord, Monday, July 24, 2006. Mrs. Sherbert was a resident of Oakmont Nursing Home and beloved Mother, Wife, Grandmother and Great-grandmother.

Mrs. Sherbert was born in Buffalo, May 5, 1915, the daughter of the late Grover and Ruth Faucette Vinson. She was retired from Conso Products. Mrs. Sherbert was an active member of Putman Baptist Church and served as a Sunday school teacher in the nursery dept. as long as her health permitted.

Surviving are a daughter: Joan S. Smith and husband Ernest Everette Smith of Buffalo; one sister: Hazel Lawson of Buffalo; two grandchildren: Betsy Smoak and husband Jeremiah and Ricky Smith and wife Kay all of Columbia; two great-grandchildren: Hannah Smith and Alan Smith. Mrs. Sherbert was predeceased by one brother and four sisters.

Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, July 26, 2006 at Putman Baptist Church Cemetery conducted by Rev. Jerry Lawson and Rev. Joseph Stover.

Mrs. Linda Faye Keith Upton, age 51, wife of Roger Upton, Sr. of 1204 East Fredrick St., Gaffney, died Sunday, July 23, 2006 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center after a brief illness.

Mrs. Upton was born in Union, July 24, 1954 a daughter of the late William T. and Myrtle Turner Keith. She was retired from Milliken Co. and was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Gaffney. Mrs. Upton was a volunteer for the Cherokee Co. Schools and a volunteer with Miracle Hill Ministries.

Surviving in addition to her husband are two daughters: Amanda Lawson of Gaffney and Dana Upton of Duncan; one son: Roger Upton, Jr. and wife Lisa of Gaffney; four sisters: Sue Pelham of Jonesville, Mary Hughes of Enoree, Barbara Gallman of Union and Carolyn Keith of Easley; five grandchildren: Jakob Upton, Kyla Lawson, Kevin Keeter, Austin Whelchel and Amber Whelchel, her maternal grandmother: Bertha Turner of Jonesville and a special friend Sarah Roundtree Dawkins. Mrs. Upton was predeceased by a brother, Tommy Keith, her maternal grandfather, George W. Turner Sr., her paternal grandparents, Thomas J. and Myrtle Ellen Keith.

Mr. Owens was born in Union, July 30, 1927 a son of the late Randolph Simmons Owens and Jessie Rhymer Owens. He was retired from Cone Mill, Carlisle Finishing and also retired from Western Auto of Union. Mr. Owens was a graduate of Union High School and was a veteran of the US Army. He was a member of Brown’s Creek Baptist church, served on the Board of Directors of Philippi Fire Dept. and was a Mason.

Surviving in addition to his wife are one son: Ricky Owens and wife Janice of Union; two grandsons: Andy Owens and Jonathan Owens; two great-grandsons: Trey Owens and Brett Owens and his mother-in-law: Helen Mitchell James of the home.

Mr. Albert Clayton "Bill" Morris, Sr., age 86, widower of Elizabeth Mull Morris of 635 Brown’s Creek Church Rd., Union, SC died Wednesday, July 26, 2006 at the home of his daughter Tammy Eaves 1200 W. Main Street, Union.

Mr. Morris was born in Union, SC April 29, 1920, a son of the late Monroe Morris and Lillian Harris Morris. He retired from Spring Industries and was a member of Brown’s Creek Baptist Church, the Lions Club and the American Legion. Mr. Morris was a Veteran of the U.S. Army having served in World War II.

Survivors are; three daughters: Judy M. Zatarain of Dade City, Florida, Tammy M. Eaves and Susie H. Inman both of Union, four sons: Dennis W. Morris of Beverly Hills, Fl, Gary L. Morris of Lockhart, Tony W. Self of Spartanburg and Albert C. "Billy" Morris, Jr. of Union, a sister: Thelma Ivey of Union and a brother: Lofton "Pete" Ivey of Union, fourteen grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. Mr. Morris was predeceased by a son, Michael R. Morris.

Mrs Pelham was born in Jonesville, SC May 17, 1911, a daughter of the late Thomas Patterson and Maude Franklin Patterson. She retired from J.P. Stevens- Jonesville Plant and was a member of Jonesville Baptist Church and the Jonesville Senior Citizens.

Survivors are; a daughter: Maudie Kirby and husband "Bo" of Jonesville, a sister: Bertha Turner of Jonesville, seven grandchildren: Mary Hill and husband Cecil Lee, Steve Pelham and wife Debra, Dexter Pelham and wife Sue, Sandy Kirby, Paula Leonard, Dianne Reardon and husband Barry and Phil Kirby and wife Pat, sixteen great-grandchildren and twenty-seven great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Pelham was predeceased by a son, Hubert Pelham, Jr., a sister, Corrie Millwood and two brothers, Jack Patterson and Elias Patterson.

Mr. Proctor was born in Jonesville, SC August 29, 1921, a son of the late Leander Proctor and Essie Mae Worthy Proctor. He retired from S.C. Department of Transportation and was also a retired farmer. Mr. Proctor was a member of Gilead Baptist Church.

Surviving in addition to his wife are; a daughter: Nancy P. Sykes and husband Jimmy of Buffalo, a brother: Harry Proctor of Jonesville, three grandchildren: Amy Sykes of Vero Beach, Fl., Jamie Sykes and wife Angie of Abbeville and David Sykes and wife Leslie of Lexington, four great-grandchildren: Wilson Sykes, Linsey Sykes, Wells Sykes and Sara Sykes, several sister-in laws, brother-in-laws, nieces and nephews. Mr. Proctor was predeceased by five sisters and three brothers.

Mr. William Earl (Bill) Jones, age 79, husband of Sallie Koon Jones, of 1410 Whitmire Hwy.,Union, SC, died Sunday morning, July 30, 2006, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Mr. Jones was born in Union, June 6, 1927, a son of the late Millard R. Jones and Annie Gault Jones. Mr. Jones was a US Army Veteran of WWII, a member of Grace United Methodist Church, the American Legion, and Union Elks Lodge. He was a member of the Board of Directors of the Union Salvation Army, served as captain for the Meals on Wheels Program, and was a former member of the Lions Club. Mr. Jones was retired from the U.S. Department of Justice, Bureau of Prisons in Terre Haute, In.. Before moving to Indiana , he worked with Milliken & Co.

Surviving in addition to his wife of 55 years, Sallie K. Jones, are 2 daughters, Donna Brooks and husband Brian, of Indianapolis, Indiana, Debra Wilson and husband David of Marina Del Rey, California; a son Dennis Jones and wife Becky of Simpsonville, SC; 5 grandchildren: Nicholas Jones, Christopher Brooks, Jennifer Brooks, Lauryen Wilson, and Rachel Jones. Mr. Jones was the last surviving member of his immediately family. He was pre-deceased by 2 sisters and 3 brothers: Katherine J. Fowler, Hazel J. Humphries, Everett Jones, Boyd Jones and Ray Jones.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, August 2, 2006 at Grace United Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Gary Byrd. Burial will be in Union Memorial Gardens.

Active Pallbearers will be Don Fowler, Gene Fowler, Nicholas Jones, Christopher Jones, Bobby Humphries and Ralph Humphries. Mr. Jones’s coffee drinking buddies are asked to assemble at the church at 1:45 PM to form the honorary escort.
