James Edward "Ed" Eaves

Mr. James Edward "Ed" Eaves, age 86, husband of Doris Vaughan Eaves of 4734 Lockhart Hwy., Union, SC died Tuesday, October 31, 2006 at Wallace Thomson Hospital.

Mr. Eaves was born in Kelton, SC, July 29, 1920, a son of the late Paul and Sibbie Morris Eaves. He was retired from Torrington Company and was formerly employed with Union Textiles. Mr. Eaves was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy having served in World War II. Mr. Eaves was a member of Philippi Baptist Church where he was a former deacon and choir member and was also a member of the VFW.

Surviving in addition to his wife are; a daughter, Jean Crocker and husband Ronnie, four sisters: Laura Comer, Essie Vinson, Katherine Vinson and Ann Sprouse, two brothers: Jimmy Dean Eaves and Weldon Eaves all of Union, one grandson, Brian Crocker and wife Michelle of Columbia and a great-granddaughter, Gabrielle Crocker. Mr. Eaves was predeceased by a son, James Eaves and two brothers, Ralph Eaves and Bill Eaves.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, November 2, 2006 at Philippi Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Brad Goodale and Rev. Tim Huckaby. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be: Ronnie Eaves, Stan Eaves, Tommy Eaves, Danny Comer, Steve Gibson, Joel Miller and Eddie Gibson. The following are asked to assemble at the church at 1:45 PM Thursday to form the Honorary Escort: members of the L.D. Gwinn Sunday School Class of Philippi Baptist Church, Fred O’Dell, Robert Palmer, Terry Bentley, Mack Rash, Larry O’Shields, Harold Orr, Bill Clowney, Ned Farr, Bobby Turner, Les Anderson, Recce O’Dell and Aubrey Garner.

The family will receive friends 1:00-2:00 PM Thursday in the church prior to the service.

Waleanor F. Sprouse
Union, SC

Mrs. Waleanor F. Sprouse, age 94, of 296 Meansville Rd., Union, SC, widow of B.H. "Buck" Sprouse died Saturday, November 4, 2006.

Mrs. Sprouse was born in Union County, SC., June 18, 1912, a daughter of the late John A. Fowler and Myra Wood Fowler, and the stepdaughter of the late Leila F. Fowler. She was a member of Philippi Baptist Church.

Survivors are; a daughter: Joyce Cudd, and husband Robert of Greensboro, NC, two Grandsons: Robert H. Cudd, Jr. and wife Carolyn of Whitsett, NC, and Derek S. Cudd of Savannah, GA. a sister: Lee Lasnier of Spartanburg, SC, and a nephew: Curtis Gentry of Decatur, GA.

Funeral services will be held Monday, November 6, 2006 at 11:00 AM at Philippi Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Brad Goodale and Rev. Tim Huckaby. Burial will be in Philippi Baptist Church Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Robert Cudd, Robert Cudd, Jr., Derek Cudd, Clifford Proctor, Doyle Crocker, and Harold Montgomery.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service.

Services for Larry Thomas Brock, 63, will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, November 8, 2006, in the chapel of Holcombe Funeral Home in Union, officiated by Rev. James L. Mason and Rev. Marion B. Boozer. Burial will follow in the New Emanuel Baptist Church cemetery in Jonesville. Active pallbearers will be Tommy Brock, Randy Brock, Eric Brock, Martin Miller, Ricky Murphy and Harold Babb. Mr. Brock of 207 Hickory Ridge Rd., Jonesville, died Sunday, November 5, 2006 at Mary Black Hospital in Spartanburg. Born in Newberry and a native of Whitmire, he was the youngest son of the late George D. Brock, Sr. and Lucille Bridges Brock. He retired from Torrington Co., Union, and was a member of the Whitmire Presbyterian Church.

Surviving are his wife: Shirley Goode Brock; three sons and daughters-in-law: Tommy Brock (Cindy) of Santuc, Randy Brock (Donna) and Eric Brock (Bonnie) all of Whitmire; step-daughter: Sonja (Robert) Matthews of Spartanburg; two grandchildren: Gina and Daniel Brock; three step-grandchildren: Courtney Etheredge, Nicholas Smith and Taylor Matthews; three brothers: Jack Brock and Melvin Brock of Easley, and David Brock of Dover, NJ; seven sisters: Willie B. Miller, Grace B. Bradley, Linda Brock and Jean B. Alewine all of Whitmire, Anne B. Smith and Myrtle Brock of Gaffney, and Barbara B. Mitchell of Elberton, GA. He was predeceased by two brothers: George D. Brock, Jr. and Don R. Brock and a sister, Phyllis Jane, who died in infancy.

Thelma Ruth Brown

Miss Thelma Ruth Brown, age 79 formerly of Brittany Manor Apartments ,Union, SC died Wednesday, November 8, 2006 at Wallace Thomson Hospital.

Miss Brown was born in Jonesville, SC June 20, 1927, a daughter of the late Roy Christopher Brown and Ruth Tweed Brown. She was a 1945 graduate of Union High School and retired from United Merchants-Union Mill Plant. Miss Brown attended New Life Baptist Church where she was a member of the Young at Heart Sunday School Class and Son Shiners Senior Adult Group. She was beloved sister, aunt and friend.

Survivors are; five sisters: Margaret B. Coward and Mary Lee Parks both of Union, Augustine B. Crocker of Greenwood, Peggy B. Willard of Gaston and Brenda Brown of Cayce and several nieces and nephews. Miss Brown was predeceased by four brothers: Bobby G. Brown, Donald Frederick Brown, Keith Brown, Kenneth Brown and a sister Patricia B. Willard.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Friday, November 10, 2006 at New Life Baptist Church conducted by Dr. Carrol Calvert. Burial will be in Rosemont Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Steve Crocker, Richard Crocker, Bruce Crocker, Eddie Hines, Paul Greer, II and Mark Jolly. Members of all Senior Adult Sunday School Classes of New Life Baptist Church as asked to sit in a group.

Merlean Farr McGowan

Mrs. Merlean Farr McGowan, age 74, wife of James W. McGowan, Jr., of 603 S. Boyce Street, Union, SC died Wednesday, November 8, 2006 at her home.

Mrs. McGowan was born in Union, SC, December 25, 1931, a daughter of the late Perrin Bolt Farr and Bessie Bailey Farr Brown. She was a graduate of Union High School, was formerly employed with Community Cash and was a homemaker. Mrs. McGowan was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church where she was a member of the Catherine Williamson Sunday School Class. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Surviving in addition to her husband are; two daughters: Debbie Littleton and husband Jerry of Gaffney and Angie McGowan Simmons and husband Tommy of Union, a son, David Crocker and wife Sheryl of Spartanburg, five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Mrs. McGowan was predeceased by a son, Bryant "Doodle" Crocker and a brother, Raleigh Farr.

Graveside services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, November 11, 2006 at Union Memorial Gardens conducted by Rev. Jim Palmer.

The family will receive friends following the service at the graveside.

Jerry Thomas "Tommy" Lanier
Union, SC

Mr. Jerry Thomas "Tommy" Lanier, age 69, of 221 E. Main Street, Fairforest Apts., Union, SC died Wednesday November 8, 2006.

Mr. Lanier was born in Union, SC July 13, 1937, a son of the late Ansel Lee Lanier and Marie Knox Lanier. He was a retired textile worker and was of the Baptist Faith.

Survivors are; a step-son, Cecil Coats of Union, a sister, Dorothy Tiner and husband Kenneth of Pauline, three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held 3:00 PM Friday, November 10, 2006 at the Lipsey Family Plot at Gilead Baptist Church Cemetery conducted by Rev. Ricky Cook.

The family will receive friends 7:00-9:00 PM tonight at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home.

Nancy Wilma Lawson Sloan
Union, SC

Mrs. Nancy Wilma Lawson Sloan, age 78, of 100 Briarwood Lane, Union, SC, widow of Paul Hamilton Sloan died Thursday, November 9, 2006.

Mrs. Sloan was born in Union County, SC January 13, 1928, a daughter of the late Lucille Coleman Jeter and James Byrum Lawson. She grew up in Anderson County where her father served in the South Carolina Senate. She moved back to Union with her husband in 1960 to run Eagle Furniture Company and Eagle Toyland. She and her husband were leaders in the Grace United Methodist Church Youth Fellowship. Mrs. Sloan retired from the Union County Schools in 2004 where she spent many years as an instructional television specialist.

Wilma died from complications of Rheumatoid Arthritis in her home surrounded by her family. Her optimism and positive outlook despite her many years of chronic pain have served as an inspiration to many of the people who have known her. Her home was always open to friends and family who found solace and acceptance in her graciousness.

Survivors are; three daughters: Paula Sloan of Sandy Springs, SC, Nanette Jenkins and husband Ellis of Carlisle and Meg Cradduck and husband Tom of St. Simon’s, Ga., a son, David Sloan and wife Cathy Rodgers of Union, one granddaughter, Erin Sloan Jenkins of Boston, Ma, two grandsons: David Thomas Jenkins of Venice Beach, Cal. and Thomas Paul Sloan of Union.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, November 11, 2006 at Grace United Methodist Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be George Lynn, Randy Jenkins, Randy Crocker, Ralph Lawson, Richard Reid, William Jeter, Dave Anderson and Steve Cobb. Caretakers and staff of Hospice Care of South Carolina are asked to sit in a group.

Mrs. Deanna Marie Adams Green, age 39, wife of Tim Green of 828 Brown’s Creek Church Road, Union, SC died Saturday, November 11, 2006 at her home.

Mrs. Green was born in Union, SC October 30, 1967, a daughter of Ernest "Twig" Adams, Jr. And Joyce Vaughan Adams of Union. She was a graduate of Jonesville High School and was employed with North Grove Medical Center in Spartanburg. Mrs. Green was a member of Brown’s Creek Baptist Church.

Surviving in addition to her husband and parents are; a stepson, Matthew Green, three nephews: Ronnie Craig, Matt Gregory and Jesse Gregory and a "special little friend" Bailey Walton all of Union. Mrs. Green was predeceased by her maternal grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. C.C. Vaughan and paternal grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. E.E. Adams and sister, Pam A.Gregory.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, November 14, 2006 at Brown’s Creek Baptist Church conducted by Rev. John Lee and Rev. Bill Adams. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Kim Sanders Ford

Kim Sanders Ford of 12067 Renee Ford Road in Stanfield, NC went to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 12, 2006.

Born in Union, SC on July 21, 1957, Kim was the daughter of Guy and Salle’ Sanders of Stanfield, NC. Kim was a honor graduate of Jonesville SC High School, Class of 1975 and a honor graduate of Clemson University, Class of 1980 with a BS in Nursing. She served the nursing profession with dedication and devotion her entire life and will always be remembered for her compassionate and caring ways.

Kim is survived by her husband, Roger Dale Ford of Union, SC, son, Josh and his wife Michelle of Spartanburg, SC, a daughter, Kathryn Ford of Stanfield, NC, a granddaughter, Lexie Ford of Stanfield, NC, grandmother, Frankie Holmes of Jonesville, SC, uncle Ron Sanders of Arlington, Va, sister, Lee Ann Weatherspoon and husband Bill of Raleigh, NC, sister, Krystal Beckner and husband Jeff of St. Louis, Mo., and a brother Rick Martin and wife Martha of Pensacola, Fla. Kim was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Evan and Lana Ford of Spartanburg, SC.

Graveside services will be held 1:00 PM Tuesday, November 14, 2006 at Gilead Baptist Church Cemetery with the Reverend Randy Burgess officiating.

Joe Thomas Willard, Sr.

Mr. Joe Thomas Willard, Sr., age 80, husband of Myrtle Helton Willard of 312 Springdale Drive, Union, SC died Tuesday, November 14, 2006 at his home.

Mr. Willard was born in Union, SC March 20, 1926, a son of the late Joe Barth Willard and Maggie Eva Scott Willard. He was former owner and manager of Joe Willard Auto Service. Mr. Willard chartered and served as the first president of Union County IGO. He served on the Union City Council for twenty-four years and Mayor Pro-Tem for four different terms. He was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church where he was a Deacon and a member of the Leon Eaves Sunday School Class. Mr. Willard was a Veteran of the US Navy having served during WWII

Surviving in addition to his wife are; two daughters: Janie W. Brown and husband Rev. Ralph Brown of Jonesville and Joan W. Parks and husband Jerry of Union, a son, Joe T. Willard, Jr., and wife Wanda of Atlanta, Ga., three sisters: Hazel W. Nance of Union, Frances W. Mitchell of Buffalo, Dolly W. Pittman of Union, two brothers: Barth S. "Trick" Willard and Wayne Willard both of Union, nine grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren.

Mack Cunningham
Jonesville, SC

Mr. James Mack Cunningham, Sr. Age 71, of 205 Fairbanks Street, Jonesville, SC, widower of Yvonne Stevens Cunningham died Monday, November 13, 2006 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Cunningham was born in Jonesville, SC June 28, 1935 a son of the late William Carl "Buck" Cunningham and Annie Bell Barnette Cunningham. He was owner and operator of Union Bonded Warehouse and was a member of the Jonesville Town Council having first being elected in 1964. He was in his thirty-ninth year in office. Mr. Cunningham was a 1953 graduate of Jonesville High School where he was named Most Valuable Player of the 1953 Baseball Team. As an avid sportsman, he enjoyed rabbit and dove hunting along with fishing; he also had played Textile League Baseball and American Legion Baseball with the Buffalo Post. He was a member of the Jonesville Baptist Church where he was a former Sunday School Teacher and a member of the Happy Hearts Club. Mr. Cunningham’s service to his community included serving on the Board of the Union County Recreation Department, the Board of the Union County Council on Aging, a member of the Union County Chamber of Commerce and a former member and chairman of the Board of Union Academy. He was a member and past Master of Prudence Masonic Lodge # 139, a Shriner and a former member of the South Carolina National Guard-Jonesville Unit.

Surviving are; two daughters: Rene’e’ Cunningham Browder and husband Len of Aiken, SC and Rise’ Cunningham Brown and husband Steve of Greenville, SC, a son, James M. "Jamy" Cunningham, Jr. and wife Susan of Union, two grandsons: Thomas Browder of Aiken and James M. "Jay" Cunningham, III of Union, a special friend, Brenda Turner Brown of Jonesville.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, November 16, 2006 at Jonesville Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Ralph Brown and Rev. Daniel Johnston. Burial will be in Gilead Baptist Church Cemetery with Masonic Rites.

Active pallbearers will be John Adams, Kip Petty, Tim Stevens, Jimmy Roberson, Scott Garrett, Wesley Lane and Brad Stevens. Everette Gene Wynn

Mr. Everette Gene Wynn, age 73, of 169 Countryside Drive, Pacolet, SC died Thursday, November 16, 2006 at his home.

Mr. Wynn was born in Union, SC November 25, 1932, a son of the late Jake Wynn and Maybelle Davis Wynn. He retired from J.P. Stevens-Jonesville Plant and was a member of Sulphur Springs Baptist Church.

Survivors are; a daughter, Rhonda Turner and husband Jerry with whom he made his home, a son, Bruce Wynn and wife Jennifer of Pacolet, two sisters: Mary Bostic of Cliffside, NC and Rosa Lee Mize of Asheville, NC, a brother, Jake Wynn of Jonesville, two daughter-in-laws: Lynn Wynn of Pacolet and Myra Wynn of Duncan, nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Mr. Wynn as predeceased by two sons, Rick Wynn and Billy Wynn.

Graveside services will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, November 19, 2006 at Jonesville Memorial Gardens conducted by Rev. Keith Phillips.

The family will receive friends 7:00-9:00 PM Saturday night at the Holcombe’s Jonesville Chapel.

Larry Moss

Mr. Larry Moss, age 62, of 107A Cogdill Plaza, Union, SC died Thursday, November 16, 2006 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center after a brief illness.

Mr. Moss was born in Blacksburg, SC January 10, 1944, a son of the late Olson Charles Moss and Louise Harvey Moss. He reitred from United Merchants-Union Plant and was a member of Welcome Baptist Church.

Survivors are; two sisters: Deborah F. Lane and husband Thomas of Union and Shirley Moss of Blacksburg, two brothers: J.E. Moss and Jerry Wayne Moss both of Union, special friends, Boyd and Brenda Adams of Union and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Moss was predeceased by two sisters, Ruth Murphy and Martha Fowler.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, November 18, 2006 at Welcome Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Robert Jarvis and Rev. Barry Rackley. Burial will be in Union Memorial Gardens.

J. P. Gossett

Mr. J. P. Gossett, age 86, formerly of Barron St. Union, S.C., widower of Vivian Stepp Gossett, died Sat. Nov. 18, 2006 at the V.A. Medical Center, Augusta, GA.

Mr. Gossett was born in Whitmire , S.C. on July 1, 1920 a son of the late Robert Pinckney Gossett, Sr and Eva Gossett. Mr. Gossett retired from United Merchants Union Mill having been a supervisor for over 50 years. He was a veterans of the U.S. Army having served in WWII with Company B 27th Engineers. He was the recipient of the Purple Heart and was a member of the VFW of Union County. Mr. Gossett was of the Methodist Faith.

Mr. Gossett is survived by a daughter: Donna G. Johnson and husband Roger of Roebuck; a son: Tony Gossett and wife Amy of Lexington; a brother: Wilson (Buck) Gossett.

of Mt. Pleasant and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Gossett was predeceased by 3 sisters:

Virginia G. Lunsford, Melissa G. Marsh and Jackie G. Eubanks and a brother: Robert P. Gossett, Jr..

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 P.M. Monday, November 20, 2006 at the S. R. Holcombe Funeral Chapel. Burial will be Union Memorial Gardens with Military Honors.

Mrs. Mary Evelyn "Cotton" Fowler, age 78, widow of Bobby D. Fowler of 130 Gideon St., Jonesville, died at her home Sat., Nov. 18, 2006 after a brief illness.

Mrs. Fowler was born in Union, April 8, 1928 a daughter of the late Horace F. Horne and Nannie Fowler Horne. She was owner for 48 years of the H and F Restaurant in Jonesville and was a member of Gilead Baptist Church.

Surviving are a son Tommy Fowler and his fiancee Anna P. Brown of Jonesville; two sisters: Catherine Proctor Smith and Francis H. Fowler both of Jonesville. She was predeceased by a sister, Lena H. Lee and two brothers, Horace Horne, Jr. And Carl "Hobe" Horne.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Monday, November 20, 2006 at the Holcombe’s Jonesville Chapel conducted by Rev. Joseph Stover, Rev. Lawton Neely, Rev. Jerry Lawson and Chaplain Gerald Eller.

Mrs. Cabaniss was born in Oakland, CA, July 25, 1947, a daughter of the late Henry Clay Stivers and Viola Izora Corbin Stivers. She was a graduate of Freemont High School in California and was retired from Sonoco Products in Union. Mrs. Cabaniss was a member of Covenant Baptist Church.

Surviving in addition to his husband, are one daughter: Barbara Kreider and husband Wesley of Alberta Canada; one son: Alan Cabaniss and wife Bonnie of Regina Canada; one sister: Lorna Craft and husband John of Sarah, OK; one brother: Donald Stivers and wife Janice of Pine Bluff, NC and 5 grandchildren.

Mr. Austin was born in Union, July 21, 1948, a son of the late Nellie Kate Austin Todd. He was retired from United Merchants, Buffalo Plant and was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving in addition to his wife are three sons: Shannon Austin and wife Michelle, Thomas Austin and wife Angie, and Brent Austin and wife Leslie all of Union; four granddaughters: Carra, Cassidy and Caylee Austin and Kayla Reid; three grandsons: T.J. and Tyson Austin and Kyle Reid all of Union; two brothers: W.S. Austin and Fred Austin both of Union; two sisters: Josephine Todd and Lula Fowler both of Union; one brother-in-law: Darrell Knox of Jonesville and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Austin was predeceased by a brother: Billy Austin.

Mrs. Betty Foster Robinson, age 77, wife of Keith F. Robinson of 214 Long Avenue, Jonesville, SC died Sunday, November 19, 2006 at Spartanburg Hospital for Restorative Care.

Mrs. Robinson was born in Columbia, SC January 16, 1929, a daughter of the late J.V. "Shorty" Foster and Lenna Kerr Foster. She was a graduate of Jonesville High School and later retired as office manager of Drs. Hanna, Hull and Green and was a member of Jonesville United Methodist Church.

Surviving in addition to her husband are; a daughter, Rose Robinson of the home, two sisters: Martha Queen of Jonesville and Jo Ann Cordell of Union, a brother, William C. "Bud" Foster of Spartanburg and a number of nieces and nephews.

Graveside services willbe held 2:00 PM Tuesday, November 21, 2006 at Jonesville Memorial Gardens conducted by Rev. Scott Gilmer and Rev. Ralph Brown.

Survivors are; four sisters: Hazel Bobo and husband Sam, Myrtle Weaver, Martha Copeland and husband Guy and Carol Cookson and husband Bud all of Union, a brother, Harold Lawson and wife Bobby Jean of Union, a sister in law, Tillie C. Reid of Union, two grandsons: Mike Phillips and wife Michele of Greenville and David Phillips of Union, two great-grandchildren: Casey Phillips and Reanna Phillips. Mrs. Eubanks was born in Newberry, May 13, 1942, a daughter of the late James Bailey Baldwin and Lottie Reed Baldwin. She was a 1960 graduate of Union High School and was formerly office manager for Drs. Thomas Young, Joseph Camunus and Lindsey Crumlin. Mrs. Eubanks was former vice-president and president of the S.C. Medical Association. She was a member of Hebron Baptist Church where she taught the Faithful Few Sunday school class and had served as Sunday School Director.

Surviving are one daughter: Stephanie E. Moss and husband Freddie of Union; three sons: Jerry Stephen Eubanks of Union, David W. Eubanks and wife Kim of Silverstreet, and Mark Eubanks and wife Peirce of Prosperity; two sisters: Gail Bobo of Whitmire and Louise Griffin of Buffalo; 6 grandchildren: Eric J. Cardwell and wife Melissa, Alex Eubanks, Michael Stephen Watkins, Christopher Stephen Eubanks, R.J. Surgoinsville, TN

Elwood Porter "Woody" Bailey, age 71 of Surgoinsville, passed away on Monday, November 27, 2006 at his residence. He was born in Hawkins County, TN.

In 1964 he became a Mason where he now belongs to the Clay Lodge #386. He earned his 32 Degree Scottish Rites, belonging to the Jericho Temple in Kingsport and Rogersville Shrine. He worked with the Hall's Crippled Children in Lexington, KY.

He served in the U.S. Navy for 8 years, serving in the Korean War, and served with the Merchant Marines. He belonged to the Church Hill VFW #9754 and the American Legion Post #21 in Rogersville.

He attended the First Baptist Church in Surgoinsville and retired from Yellow Freight Trucking in Overton, KS. He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel Presley Bailey and Willie Edna Christian Bailey; sisters, Ruth Bailey Hensley and Margaret Bailey Artis.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Dorothy (Couch) Bailey of Surgoinsville; a son, Tony Lee Bailey & wife R. Susan Barnado of Union, SC; sisters, Lois Bailey Britton of Cumberland City, TN and Odell Bailey Shortt of Abingdon, VA; brothers, Calvin Bailey of Clarksville, TN and Clinton Bailey of Abingdon; along with several nieces and nephews and several great-nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be from 5-7 PM Wednesday, November 29, 2006, at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Church Hill, TN. Military graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday at Jonesville Memorial Gardens in Jonesville, SC, with Rev. Robert Alexander officiating.

Mrs. Kingsmore was born in Buffalo, SC May 1, 1924, a daughter of the late C.S. Elliott and Bertha Vess Elliott. She retired from Ace Sweater and was a member of Lower Fairforest Baptist Church where she was a member of the Mary Wilburn Sunday School Class.

Survivors are; two daughters: Sherry McCoy and husband Steve and Janice Duckett and husband Larry , a son, Tim Kingsmore and wife Linda, a sister Zeelon McSwain all of Union, three brothers: Sam Elliott, Paul Elliott both of Buffalo and Marion "Mack" Elliott of Union, eight grandchildren: David Kingsmore and wife Amy, Eric McCoy and wife Jackie, Chris Duckett and wife Deann, Lesley Kingsmore and husband David Liner, Jill Fowler and husband Jerry, Clayton Duckett, Tyler Kingsmore and Jessica Kingsmore, seven great-grandchildren: Kayleigh Duckett, Trevor Duckett, Alison Fowler, Alexis Fowler, Hannah Liner, Bailey Kingsmore and Brandon Kingsmore.

Mr. Carlin was born in Hartford CT. August 11, 1951, a son of Barbara Godz Carlin of North Windham, CT and the late John F. Carlin, Sr. He was formerly employed as a diesel mechanic. Mr. Carlin was formerly married to Patricia Carlin.

Survivors are; a daughter, Christine Carlin of the home, a son, Robert Carlin and wife Sharon of Boiling Springs, SC, two sisters: Patricia Taylor of Mansfield, CT and Anna Brown of Lebanon, CT, two brothers: William Carlin of Manchester, CT and Gary Carlin of South Windsor, CT.
