Elizabeth Ann "Missy" Gregory

Ms. Elizabeth Ann "Missy" Gregory, age 83, formerly of 132 Terry Drive, Union, SC died Thursday, August 31, 2006 at Oakmont Nursing Home.

Ms. Gregory was born in Union, SC February 24, 1923, a daughter of the late Claude and Mattie Palmer Gregory. She retired from United Merchants-Union Plant and formerly worked with Union County Counsel on Aging. Ms. Gregory was a member of McCutchen Memorial Presbyterian Church.

Survivors are; two daughters: Patsy G. Petrie and husband Mike and Kathy Marlene Lee, two sons: Michael E. Gregory and wife Robin and Dennis Gregory and wife Linda, a brother James D. Gregory and wife Rachel all of Union, seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson. Ms. Gregory was predeceased by two sisters and five brothers.

Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, September 3, 2006 at McCutchen Memorial Presbyterian Church conducted by Rev. Reuben Wallace and Rev. Brad Goodale. Burial will be in Union Memorial Gardens.

Active pallbearers will be Johnny Gregory, Eddie Vaughan, Kenny Morris, Steve Morris, Freddie Crawford and Mark Gregory. The staff and nurses of Oakmont Nursing Home are asked to sit in a group.

The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 Saturday evening at S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home.

Tina Gail Childers
Spartanburg, SC

Tina Gail Childers, age 44 of Spartanburg, passed this world to her eternal home on Sunday, Sept. 3, 2006.

Ms. Childers was the daughter of Mary Smith Lee of Spartanburg and the late Johnnie J. Childers, Sr.. She was the granddaughter of the late Hawkins and Pearl Smith and Charlie and Pearle Childers. Ms. Childers was formerly employed with Waffle House and Denny’s Restaurants and was a member of Morningstar Baptist Church in Pacolet.

Surviving in addition to her mother are one daughter: Hope Upton of Gaffney; three sons: Chad Upton of Gaffney, Cody Clark and Cory Clark both of Winthrop, NY; one sister: Margaret Bright of Polkville, NC; one brother: Johnnie J. Childers, Jr. wife Barbara of Union; two granddaughter: Madison Patton and Natalie White; one grandson: Austin Patton; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2006 at Morningstar Baptist Church in Pacolet by Rev. Andrew Carrigan and Rev. Dean Patton. Burial will be in Rosemont Cemetery in Union.

Active pallbearers will be Travis Patton, Tray Seals, Daniel Harvey, Bill Harless, Chad Bradburn, Jimmy Smith and Mike Duncan.

The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 9:00 PM Monday evening at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home.

Evelyn Campbell Porter
Sharon, SC

Mrs. Evelyn Campbell Porter, age 72, widow of Joe David "Bud" Porter of 350 Canupp Rd., Sharon, SC died Sunday, September 3, 2006 at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.

Mrs. Porter was born in Rock Hill, SC February 21, 1934, a daughter of the late William Campbell and Eliza Broom Campbell. She was a member of First Church of Acts of Chester County and was a homemaker.

Survivors are; a daughter: Donna Dillingham, a son: William David Porter both of Sharon, two brothers: Walter Eugene Campbell and wife Martha of Sharon and James Campbell of Belmont, NC, a step-mother: Margaret Campbell of Dallas, NC, two grandsons: Stephen Porter of Chester and Michael Horton of Sharon and a grat-grandson: Dustyn Patrick of Chester.

Graveside memorial services will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, September 6, 2006 at Porter Cemetery conduced by Rev. Dewey Fowler.

The family is at the home of her brother and sister-in-law, Walter and Martha Campbell, 221 Canupp Rd., Sharon, SC.

Charley Sanders Hughes
Union, SC

Mr. Charley Sanders Hughes, age 91, widower of Martha Estelle Prince Hughes, of 1229 Arthur Blvd., Union, SC died Sunday, September 3, 2006 at Wallace Thomson Hospital.

Mr. Hughes was born in Neeses, SC, November 19, 1914, a son of the late Clarence Kit "C.K." Hughes and Elizabeth McDaniel Hughes. He was a 1933 graduate of Union High School and retired from A&P Store as a store manager for over forty-one years. Mr. Hughes was a member of Mon Aetna Baptist Church where he served as Missions Minister for twenty-one years, was a life time Deacon and was previously active with First Baptist of Union for forty-five years. He was also a Rotarian for a number of years.

Survivors are; two daughters: Gayle H. Yarborough and husband Jesse L. of Chester and Sylvia H. Wix and husband Harold Gene of Jonesville, a son: Dr. Charles S. "Sandy" Hughes, II and wife Barbara of Birmingham, Al, a sister: Vivian H. Whitlock of Spartanburg and seven grandchildren: Gayle’s children-Crystal and Phil, Sandy’s children- Chuck, Dana and David, Sylvia’s children- Jay and Ben, seven great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren..

Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Wednesday, September 6, 2006 at Mon Aetna Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Benny Green and Rev. Dale Lynch. Burial will be in Union Memorial Gardens.

Active Pallbearers will be Phil Sanders, David Hughes, Jay Duke, Ben Duke, Ken Fowler, Alan Cromer, Jerry Gossett and Harold D. Lawson. Ministerial Associates of Mr. Hughes’ are asked to assemble at the church Wednesday at 2:45 PM to form the Honorary Escort.

The family will receive friends 1:30-2:45 PM Wednesday at Mon Aetna prior to the service.

Mrs. Myrtle Hamm Adams, age 76, widow of William D. "Bill" Adams formerly of Lockhart, SC died Monday, September 4, 2006 at Ellen Sagar Nursing Home.

Mrs. Adams was born in Chester, SC December 25, 1929, a daughter of the late Lawrence Hamm and Jessie Love Hamm. She retired from Spring Mill- Chester Plant and was a member of Lockhart Free Will Baptist Church.

Survivors are; a son, Donnie Adams and a daughter, Debra Conard and husband Joey all of Lockhart, a brother, Lewis Hamm, three sisters: Ruth Dabbs, Margie Canupp all of Lockhart and Brenda Tiller of Chester, five grandchildren: Chad Adams, Michael Adams, Matthew Adams, Brad Conard and Ashley Heatherly and three great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, September 6, 2006 at Lockhart Cemetery conducted by Rev. Tommy Bryson and Rev. Brian Bishop.

Mr. Lonny Dale Anders, Sr., age 58, husband of Joyce Bryant Anders of 121 Lowe St., Union, died Thurs. Sept. 7, 2006 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center after a brief illness.

Mr. Anders was born in Hazelwood, NC, August 20, 1948, a son of the late John Vernon Anders Sr. and Affie Geneva Knight Anders. He was retired from Sonoco Products after 28 years and was a veteran of the US Army having served in the Viet Nam Conflict. Mr. Anders was a member of the "Show ‘n’ Shine" Car Club and Union Co. Minute Men Rescue Team. He was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving in addition to his wife is a daughter: Jennifer Dawn Anders of Union; one son: Lonny Dale Anders, Jr. and wife Kristy of Union; two sisters: Carolyn Medford of Kings Mountain, NC, and Jo Ellen Arrington and husband Robert of Waynesville, NC; one brother: William E. Anders of Waynesville, NC; two grandchildren: Angela Mayhorn and Matthew Mayhorn; a god son: Colby Bright of Union; special friends: Wayne Steward of Kings Mountain, NC and Ronnie Alman of Union. Mr. Anders was predeceased by a twin brother: Johnny Vernon Anders, Jr.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Sunday, September 10, 2006 at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Chapel by Rev. Dean Poteat and Rev. Timothy Bowers. Burial will be in Rosemont Cemetery with Military Honors.

Mr. Jimmy D. Brown, age 53, of 6392 Hwy. 56, Pauline, SC died Monday, September 11, 2006 from injuries received in an automobile accident.

Mr. Brown was born in Greer, SC August 15, 1953, a son of the late Rev. Jesse D. Brown and Lucille Ward Brown. He was a graduate of Union High School and received a Business Degree from Limestone College. Mr. Brown was formerly employed with Sonoco Products and was a member of Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church.

Survivors are; two daughters: Stephanie Brown McCormick and husband Shaun and Candace L. Billings and husband Dale all of Union, a sister: Elaine Farmer and husband Warren of Pauline, two grandchildren: Jacob and Jordan Billings, a niece, Gina Ponder and a nephew, Jeff Farmer. Mr. Brown was predeceased by a sister, Patricia Gail Brown.

Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, September 13, 2006 at Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the church immediately following the graveside service.

Paul Ellis Bragg

Mr. Paul Ellis Bragg, age 86, husband of Ruby Brunson Bragg of 605 Toney Road, Union, SC died Monday, September 11, 2006 at his home.

Mr. Bragg was born in Perkins, Ga May 13, 1920, a son of the late Rufus Edward Bragg and Canara Bragg Bragg. He retired from United Merchants-Buffalo Plant and was a charter member and an active deacon of Glory Baptist Church. Mr. Bragg was a Veteran of the U.S. Army having served during World War II.

Surviving in addition to his wife are; three daughters: Linda Rumph and husband George of Cross Anchor, Betty Howell and husband Jeff of the home and Judy Wells and husband Brian of Pea Ridge; a sister: Myra Wells of Savannah, Ga, a brother: Jack Bragg and wife Florence of Griffin, Ga, six grandchildren: Brandy Rochester, Richie Wade, Terri Trantham, Tommy O’Shields, Kimalee Wells and Brian Wells, Jr. all of Union and six great-grandchildren: Dusty Trantham, Kyle Trantham, Kinsleigh Wade, Richard Wade, III, Matthew O’Shields and Casey Jordan all of Union.

Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Thursday, September 14, 2006 at Glory Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Joe Brackens, Rev. Lynn Ford, Rev. Alton Stone and Mr. Joshua Rochester. Burial will be in Union Memorial Gardens with Military Honors.

Gene Wylie, age 88, husband of Gladys Wylie, of 140 Mitchell Road, Union, died Monday, September 11, 2006, at Wallace Thomson Hospital after a brief illness.

Mr. Wylie was born in Cherokee County, June 27, 1918, a son of the late Buford and Maggie Wylie. He is a retired textile worker. He was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving in addition to his wife is a daughter, Linda Blanton, husband Arnold, of Gaffney. A special grandson, Stanley Boyle, wife Debbie of Union; Special friends Joel, Cathy, Gentry, Levi Wood, of Union and John "Pye" Ward of Union; a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren; Mr. Wylie was predeceased by a son, John T. Boyle and a daughter, Nancy Duckett of Union.

Graveside services will be held at Fredrick Memorial Garden in Gaffney, Wednesday at 3:00 p.m., September 13, 2006, by the Rev. John Lee, Jr.

The family will receive friends at the graveside immediately following the service.

Mrs. Cheryl Todd Rhinehart, age 48, wife of Jimmy Rhinehart of 199B Hilltop View, Union, SC died Tuesday, September 12, 2006 at her home.

Mrs. Rhinehart was born in Union, SC July 17, 1958, a daughter of Josephine Austin Todd of Union and the late Roy Austin Todd. She was a homemaker.

Surviving in addition to her husband and mother are; a daughter: Patricia Norman and Bernard, a son: Jimmy Ray Rhinehart and wife Misty, two step-daughters: Tina DeYoung and Pam Morgan, two step-sons: Jimmy Rhinehart, Jr. and Ray Rhinehart and a grandson: Brandon Mobley reared in the home, a sister: Vickie Lynn Beheler, two brothers: Ricky Todd and Monty Todd fourteen grandchildren, a great-grandchild, a niece and three nephews all of Union. Mrs. Rhinehart was predeceased by a daughter, Lynn Hubard Rhinehart.

Graveside services will be held 3:00 PM Thursday, September 14, 2006 at Rosemont Cemetery conducted by Rev. Ricky Cook.

William Jeptha "Jep" Gault

Mr. William Jeptha "Jep" Gault, age 81, husband of Mary M. "Peggy" Cabaniss Gault of 105 Vision Drive, Union, SC died Thursday, September 14, 2006 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Gault was born in Union, SC January 5, 1925, a son of the late Oscar Gault and Juett Whitener Gault. He retired from Milliken & Company- Monarch Plant and was a member of Covenant Baptist Church where he served on the Property Committee, Board of Trustees and was a former Deacon. Mr. Gault was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy having served during WWII.

Surviving in addition to his wife are; a daughter: Paulretta Rutledge of Union, two sons: Michael Gault of Alexandria, Va and Tim Gault and wife Cherie of Union, a special grandson: T.J. Gault reared in the home, nine other grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren, a sister: Barbara G. Scott of Union and a brother: Jerry Gault of Mars Hill, NC. Mr. Gault was predeceased by a son, Billy Gault, a step-daughter, Tina Hart and two brothers, Joe Gault and Clarence Gault.

Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Saturday, September 16, 2006 at Covenant Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Scott Cobb. Burial will be in Union Memorial Gardens with Military Honors.

Nancy Dunn
Spartanburg, SC

Nancy Sibley Wilburn Dunn died Friday, September 15, 2006 at her home in Spartanburg, S.C..

Mrs. Dunn was born in Spartanburg December 19, 1932 and was reared in Union, S.C.., the daughter of the late William Augustus Longstreet Sibley and Nancy Wilson Sibley. She graduated from Salem Academy in 1950 and Converse College in 1954. Mrs. Dunn received a Master of Arts in Teaching from Winthrop College in 1969 and spent most of her educational career in various positions in the Union County School System. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Spartanburg where she served as a Circle Chairman and in various phases of the Women’s Work of the Church. She was very active in the Spartanburg Community and the Alumnae Association at Converse College. She was a member of the Board of Visitors of Montreat-Anderson College and in the life of the community of Montreat, N.C. where she had a home which she generously shared with family and friends. Mrs. Dunn was also a member of the Fairforest Chapter of the D.A.R. She is predeceased by Thomas David Wilburn, her husband of 25 years, and by Richard Wright Dunn, her husband of 11 years, and Nancy Leigh Wilburn, her granddaughter.

She is survived by her son, Thomas David Wilburn, Jr. and grandson, Thomas David Wilburn III of Greenville, and her daughter, Mrs Jerry Gregory (Mary Susan) and granddaughter, Leigh Chesno of Union. Also surviving are her brother, William A.L. Sibley of Greenville and her sister, Mrs. Ben Shippen (Josephine) of Atlanta, GA. and their families, and special friend Dr. Bob Towell.

A memorial service will be held at First Presbyterian Church, Union, S.C. at 3:00pm Sunday September 17, 2006 conducted by the Rev. Robert M. Alexander and the Rev Joseph J Shippen –her nephew. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the church parlor.

Ruby Inez "Nig" Sumner

Mrs. Ruby Inez "Nig" Sumner, age 84, widow of Harris F. Sumner of 918 Main Street, Buffalo, SC died Friday, September 15, 2006 at Oakmont Nursing Home.

Mrs. Sumner was born in Buffalo, SC February 18, 1922, a daughter of the late Ernest T. Ford and Mae Douglas Ford. She retired after thirty-five years as manager of Cato’s. Mrs. Sumner was a member of Buffalo United Methodist Church where she was a member of Pat Flood Circle and Rosa Roundtree Sunday School Class.

Survivors are; a son: Thomas M. Sumner and wife Brenda of Buffalo, a daughter: Brenda Lanford and husband Dale , three sisters: Wilma Mayes, Aileen Crocker and Barbara Puckett all of Union, eight grandchildren: Thomas M. Sumner, Jr and wife Donya, Michele Lee and husband Lonnie, Elizabeth Gordon and husband Jon, Lesley Robbins and husband Matt, David Liner and wife Lesley, Teri Foster, Robin Meador and Angie Meador and husband Mark; sixteen great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Sumner was predeceased by a sister, Jessie Faye Wilbanks.

Funeral services will be held 4:00 PM Sunday, September 17, 2006 at Buffalo United Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Kevin Dalton. Burial will be in Union Memorial Gardens.

Grandsons will serve as active pallbearers.

The family will receive friends 2:30-3:30 PM Sunday at Buffalo United Methodist Church prior to the service.

Mrs. Addie Palmer Estes, age 87 resident of Oakmont Nursing Home and formerly of 182 River Rd., Union, SC and widow of Charlie Estes, died Saturday, September 16, 2006 at Wallace Thomson Hospital.

Mrs. Estes was born in Union, SC July 29, 1919, a daughter of the late Will Palmer and Rosa Brown Palmer. She was a member of Philippi Baptist Church where she attended as long as her health permitted and was a member of the Senior Choir, the Joy Club and taught Sunday School for a number of years. Mrs. Estes and her husband Charlie were custodians of Philippi Baptist Church for many years.

Survivors are; two brothers: Walter Palmer and wife Sally of Union and Dan Palmer and wife Jean of Hendersonville, NC, a sister-in-law: Ruby Palmer of Union and a number of nieces and nephews. Mrs. Estes was predeceased by two brothers and two sisters: Fred Palmer, Will Palmer, Helen Ivey and Martha Porter.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, September 19, 2006 at Philippi Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Brad Goodale. Burial will be in Union Memorial Gardens.

Active Pallbearers will be Travis Crocker, Barry Palmer, Jim Palmer, Gene Brock, Mark Ivey and Ronnie Crocker.

Virginia Fallaw Ivey, age 76, wife of 55 years of George T. Ivey of 104 James St., Union, died Monday, Sept. 18, 2006 at Oakmont Nursing Center.

Mrs. Ivey was born in Cowpens, SC, December 13, 1929, a daughter of the late Arthur and Bertha Bradley Fallaw. She was an active member of Westside Baptist Church as long as her health permitted where she was a member of the Madeline Holcombe Sunday school class.

Mrs. Ivey was retired from Excel Hosiery Mill in Union.

Surviving in addition to her husband are two daughters: Cindy Williams Long and husband Phillip, Ginger Hughes and husband Jerry all of Rock Hill; three sons: Tim Ivey and wife Janie of Lexington, SC, Ronnie Ivey and wife Gwen and Donnie Ivey and wife Debbie all of Union; one sister: Pearl Crocker of Union; two brothers: Earl Fallaw of Franklin, TN, and Weldon Fallaw and wife Jane of West Columbia, SC; a granddaughter reared in the home: Tish Gregory Brannen of Edgemoor, SC, 12 other grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Ivey was predeceased by two brothers, Randy Fallaw and Gene Fallaw, and one sister: Mamie May.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2006 at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Chapel conducted by Rev. Brad Goodale. Burial will be in Union Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Margaret Smith Robertson, age 86, formerly of 127 Robertson Lane, Buffalo, SC, widow of Thomas M. Robertson died Monday, September 18, 2006 at Ellen Sagar Nursing Home.

Mrs. Robertson was born in Union, SC November 11, 1919, a daughter of the late Amos Smith and Mae Lawson Smith. She was a graduate of Union High School and Cecil’s Business College. Mrs. Robertson retired from Wachovia Bank in Union and later worked part-time with H & R Block. She was a member of Buffalo United Methodist Church where she was a member of Rosa Roundtree Sunday School Class, Annie Massey Circle and was very active in Senior Citizens of Buffalo.

Survivors are; two sons: Thomas E. Robertson and wife Kathy and Terry S. Robertson, two sisters: Hazel Caldwell and husband Glenn and Waunet Petty all of Buffalo, three grandchildren: Daniel Robertson, Brad Robertson and wife Heather and April Robertson, three great-grandchildren: Tyler Kitchen, A.J. LeMaster and Abbie Robertson and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Thursday, September 21, 2006 at Buffalo United Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Kevin Dalton and Rev. Phillip Chandler. Burial will be in Union Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Robert Lewis Shetley, age 61, husband of Brenda Marie Williams Shetley, of 244 Old English Rd., Union, SC died Thursday, September 21, 2006 at his home.

Mr. Shetley was born in Union, SC, October 26, 1944 a son of the late Lester Shetley and Ada Pearl Ellis Shetley. He retired from Arkwright Mills, was a former member of the S.C. National Guards-Union Unit and a member of Brown’s Creek Baptist Church.

Former Educator and Homemaker

Mrs. Carolyn Eugenia "Gene" Brown Fowler, age 88, of 1425 Jonesville-Lockhart Hwy., Union, SC, widow of Harold "C" Fowler died Wednesday, September 20, 2006 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Fowler was born in the Goucher Community of Cherokee County on November 13, 1917, the daughter of the late Jonathan Cleveland Brown and Eugenia Burgess Brown. She was a graduate of Jonesville High School and Limestone College and had done post-graduate work at the University of S.C., Clemson University, Converse College and Winthrop University. She had thirty years in the educational field with Union County. At Jonesville High School she was a class room teacher; head of the English Department; director of Guidance; sponsor of the National Beta Club for twenty years; cheerleader’s sponsor and for three years was awarded the Star Award as Teacher of the Year.

Mrs. Fowler was very active in church and civic affairs. As a member of Fosters’ Chapel United Methodist Church for more than sixty years; she served as treasurer of the church for twenty years; Sunday School teacher; M.Y.F. Counselor; director of V.B.S.; president of the W.M.U.; district officer of the Spartanburg Disctrict W.M.U.; treasurer of the Kelton Methodist Charge and member of the Administration Board. She was a charter member and also served as past President of the Jonesville Readers’ Guild and the Jonesville Garden Club; was a member of the Kelton Home Demonstration Club; a leader of a Girl Scout Troop in the Kelton Community and was the Christmas Parade Marshal for the Town of Jonesville in 2003.

Surviving are four grandchildren, Pamela F. Brown and her husband Palmer of Gainesville, Fl; Jonthan "Dicky" Fowler and his wife Kaye; Harold "Hal" Fowler and his wife Bridget; Taramaria "Tara" Farr and her husband Kevin all of Jonesville; three great-grandchildren: Fowler Brown of Gainesville, Fl; Madison and Bobby Ce Fowler of Jonesville; one brother, Chaplain J.C. Brown, Jr. of Greenville, and a number of nieces and nephews; and a very special friend and caregiver, Mrs. Lenora Jeffries. Mrs. Fowler was predeceased in death by her only child, Julian Harold Fowler; her daughter-in-law, Mary Keith Gallman Fowler; a sister Mrs. Pearl B. Calvert and three brothers Ray, John and Arthur Brown.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday at Fosters’ Chapel United Methodist Church by the Rev. Keith Sweat, Rev. David Clayburn and Rev. Larry Hyder. Burial will be in Fosters’ Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Charles Wayne Barber, age 66, of 308 Spring St. Union, SC died Friday, September 22, 2006 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Barber was born in Union, SC , July 15, 1940, a son of the late David and

Rachel Sumner Barber. He was retired from United Merchants, Union Plant, was a former member of the S.C. National Guards - Union and was of the Baptist faith.

Mr. Barber was previously married to Shelby Jones Barber.

Surviving are a daughter : Rachel Barber and friend , Johnny Bagley, of Chester, step-sons: Robin Lankford and wife Susan of Buffalo and Kerry Lankford and wife Dot of Carlisle, two sisters: Linda Gregory and Mary Hyder and husband Maurice of Union, a brother: Herbert Barber and wife Grace and four grandchildren: Brooke Lankford, Trevor Lankford, Courtney Lankford and Kelvin Lankford and several nieces and nephews. Mr Barber was predeceased by three brothers: Harold Dean Barber, Arthur Earl Barber and James D. Barber and a sister Sarah Faye Davis.

Mrs. Linda Paulette Childers Farr, age 46, wife of Kenneth Farr of 140 Union Rd. Lockhart, passed away Saturday , Sept. 23, 2006 at her home.

Mrs. Farr was born in Union, Nov. 16, 1959 a daughter of Paul and Sarah Lawson Childers of Lockhart. She was a graduate of Lockhart High School where she was a member of the girls basketball team. Mrs. Farr had previously worked as manager for First Choice Cash Advance, manager of City Motors in Jonesville and previously was in the finance dept. at Parker Furniture in Union.

Surviving in addition to her husband and parents are one daughter: Jatania Cabaniss of Lockhart; one son: Josh Brunet of the home; a grandson: Dylan Cabaniss of Lockhart; one sister: Ginger Vinson of Union; one brother: Brian Childers of Pea Ridge; two nieces: Brina Grace Childers and Ivey Vinson. Mrs. Farr was predeceased by a son, Kenny Cabaniss.
