Mr. Donald Lewis Jones, age 67, widower of Katherine L. Langley of 1108 Longview Dr., Lockhart, died Wednesday, July 2, 2008 at his home.

Mr. Jones was born in Lockhart, May 13, 1941, a son of Laverne Hopper Jones-Vanderford of Lancaster and the late Herman Lewis "Top" Jones. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy Reserves having served on the USS Dyess. Mr. Jones was also a former member of the S.C. National Guard, a member of the VFW and was retired from Milliken, Co.

Surviving in addition to his mother are two step-daughters: Debby Williams of Stanley, NC and Tina Mull of Belmont, NC; a step son: William Partin of Stanley, NC; a sister: Linda Workman and husband James of Harrisburg, NC; and a brother: Forrest Vanderford of Mt. Holly, NC.

Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, July 5, 2008, at Lockhart Cemetery conducted by Rev . Steve Lemons. The family will receive friends at the cemetery following the graveside services.

Josephine Mack Godshall
Union, SC

Mrs. Josephine Mack Godshall, age 90, of 100 Chelsea Court, Union, widow of Ernest F. Godshall, Sr., died Friday, July 4, 2008, at her home.

Mrs. Godshall was born in Union, SC, January 3, 1918, a daughter of the late John E. Mack, Sr. and Mae Jarrett Mack. She attended Robinson’s Business School in Spartanburg and was employed with Arthur State Bank for 30 years as head bookkeeper. Mrs. Godshall was a member of First Baptist Church, Union, where she was a member of the Bethany Sunday School Class and the Pearl Johnson Circle of WMU. She was also a member of the Virginia Heath Bible Study Class which meets at Grace United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Godshall was married to her late husband, Ernest F. Godshall, Sr., for 49 years. She was last surviving member of her immediate family being predeceased by five brothers: John E. Mack Sr., Gastonia, NC, Thomas E. Mack, Union, Jarrett D. Mack, Spartanburg, Bryan M.. Mack, Union, Raymond E. Mack, Gastonia, NC, and one sister: Miriam M. Clark, Charlotte, NC.

Surviving are a son: Ernest F. "Ernie" Godshall, Jr. and wife Clara of Charleston; a daughter: Frances "Fran" Godshall Kerhulas and husband Sam of Union; two grandchildren: John P. Godshall and wife Monica and Leslie H. Godshall all of Charlotte, NC; two great-grandchildren: Mattie and Garrett Godshall.

Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, July 6, 2008 at the First Baptist Church of Union conducted by Rev. Robert Emory. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Ralph Thompson, Curtis Dunbar, Brooks Carwile, Thomas E. "Tommy" Mack, Jr., David Clark, and Josh Thompson.

Visitation will be held 7:00 until 9:00PM Saturday evening at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home.

James Robert Merchant
Buffalo, S.C.

Mr. James Robert Merchant, age 74, husband of Lois H. Merchant of 1083 Mudbridge Rd. Buffalo, died Thursday, July 3, 2008 at his home.

Mr. Merchant was born in Newberry, December 23, 1933 a son of the late Cecil E. And Mattie R. Longshore Merchant. He attended Newberry School and joined the U.S. Air Force in 1953 serving most of his time in Topeka, KA. After discharge in 1957, he and wife Lois moved to Newberry where he worked in Newberry Mills. In 1966, he started working for United Merchants, Union Plant then retired from Oakmont of Union in 2007. Mr. Merchant is a member of Augsburg Lutheran Church where he served as President of the Lutheran Men, on the Church Council and on the Property Committee of the church. He is a life member of Union Masonic Lodge # 75 and was a Shriner.

Surviving in addition to his wife are a daughter: Rebecca L. (Becky) West and husband Alvis; two sons: James R. (Jim) Merchant, Jr. and Chester D. (Doug) Merchant and wife Dee all of Buffalo; three grandsons: Cory E. and Dillon J. West and Chester D. Merchant, II ; two granddaughters: Erin L. West and Christina B. Merchant; one great-granddaughter: Brionna A. (Lexi) Merchant who was the light of his life; three brothers: Eugene Merchant, Hugh Merchant and wife Dallas all of Newberry and Earl Merchant and wife Frances of Prosperity; one step-sister: Winifred Culclassure of Chapin and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM , Monday July 7, 2008 at Augsburg Lutheran Church conducted by Rev.Carroll Robinson and Rev. Carlene Carlson-Cassem. Burial will be held at 4:00 PM at West End Cemetery in Newberry.

Active pallbearers will be Bart Merchant, Mike Brehmer, Don Hudson, Brian Hawkins, Steve Canfield and Tommy Lancaster.

Members of the Friends of Kamp -n- Kountry from Maggie Valley and Employees of Oakmont Nursing Home are asked to sit in a group.

Visitation will be held 6:00 until 7:30 PM Sunday evening at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home with Masonic Rites being held at 7:30PM in the chapel.

Mrs. Martha Carter Rogers, age 89, widow of Dana G. Rogers formerly of Buffalo, passed away Saturday, July 5, 2007 at Wallace Thomson Hospital.

Mrs. Rogers was born in Union, August 19, 1918, a daughter of the late John Wesley Carter and Clara Wade Carter. She was a member of Buffalo Baptist Church and a resident of Ellen Sagar Nursing Home.

Surviving are two daughters: Dana Kaye Adams and husband Jimmy of Spartanburg and Sue Wilson and husband Evans of Union; one son: David B. Rogers and wife June of Gaffney; one brother: Bob Carter of Union; 5 grandchildren: Steve Adams, Mark Adams, Lisa Allen, Todd Medford and Buffy Medford; and 4 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Rogers was predeceased by three sisters and three brothers.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, July 8, 2008 at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Chapel. Burial will be held in Union Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 until 2:00 PM at the funeral home prior to the service.

Kathryn F. Lewis
Union, S.C.

Mrs. Kathryn Farr Lewis, age 85, widow of Frederic E. Lewis of 200 Birchwood Dr., Union, passed away Saturday, July 5, 2008 after a battle with cancer.

Mrs. Lewis was born in Union, June 1, 1923, a daughter of the late Edward Marvin Farr and Kate Brown Farr. She was a graduate of Lockhart High School and Farrah Cosmetology School in Rock Hill. Mrs. Lewis was the owner and operator of the Unique Beauty Shop in Union and Kathryn’ Beauty and Dress Shop in Lockhart where she was a friend and mentor to many girls who worked in her shops. She retired after 50 years. Mrs. Lewis was a member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church, the Marian Conard Sunday School Class, the Senior Citizens Group and served on the Administrative Board of the church.

Surviving are one son: Terry Ralph Tracey of Gastonia, NC; two grandsons: Tristan Tracey and Victor Tracey also of Gastonia; a brother: Ned Farr and wife Laura; a sister-in-law: Mary McHugh Farr; a niece and her caregiver; Trudy Farr Smith and special friend Roy McSwain all of Union. She was predeceased by three sisters: Zora Wade, Lucille Boulware and Eloise Hook; three brothers, Ellis, Harry and Ralph Farr.

Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM Monday, July 7, 2008 at Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery conducted by Rev. Gary Byrd and Rev. Alton Stone.

Visitation will be held after the service in the church sanctuary

Mrs. Peggy Ijames Walker, age 72, widow of H. Dean Walker of 107 Rosewood Terrace, Union, died Sunday, July 6, 2008 at Mary Black Memorial Hospital.

Mrs. Walker was born in Danville, VA, August 18, 1935 a daughter of the late Clyde H. and Catherine Hubbard Ijames. She was a graduate of Union High School and Winthrop College. Mrs. Walker was a tax preparer in Union and retired paralegal with the Law Office of Robert E. Guess. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church.

Surviving are three sons: Terry D. Walker and wife Laura of Ridge Spring, SC, Robin D. Walker and wife Margaret of Moore, and John Christopher Walker and wife Susan of Asheville, NC; one sister; Patricia I. McDade and husband Bruce of Columbia; two grandchildren: Kelly Elizabeth Walker and Adam Davis Walker; a niece Lisa McDade of Mt. Pleasant; two nephews: Dale Farmer of Burlington, CT and Mark McDade and wife Shelley of Anderson. Mrs. Walker was predeceased by a sister: Ruby I. Farmer and nephew David L. Farmer.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, July 10, 2008 at Grace United Methodist Church conducted by Rev. David Caughman and Dr. Anthony Gavalas. Burial will be in the Church Cemetery.

Mr. Harold Kenneth "Kent" Vaughan, age 66 of 3227 Lockhart Hwy., died Monday, July 7, 2008 at his home.

Mr. Vaughan was born in Union, November 22, 1941 a son of the late Palmer and Azilee P. Vaughan. He was retired from Conso Products of Union and a member of Philippi Baptist Church.

Surviving are a daughter: Anitra Smith and husband Kevin of Buffalo; a son: Chris Vaughan of Union; two grandchildren: Brandon Davis and Cody Vaughan and a number of aunts, uncles and cousins.

Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, July 11, 2008 at Philippi Baptist Church Cemetery conducted by Rev. Jim Cunningham.

Mr. Luther James "L.J." Bobo, age 84, widower of Jane Wilson Bobo of 106 Chelsea Court Union, died Wednesday, July 9, 2008 at his home.

Mr. Bobo was born in Cross Keys, Dcember 31, 1923 a son of the late Bernard and Bessie Sanders Bobo. He was a graduate of Cross Anchor High School and was owner and operator of Bobo Appliance for over 40 years. Mr. Bobo was a veteran of the U. S. Army having served during WWII and was a member of the American Legion and Woodmen of the World. He participated in the Union Co. Relay for Life Cancer Walk for the past two years and was a member of Mon Aetna Baptist Church.

Surviving are a daughter: Emilie Marie Thornton and husband Ricky of Union; two sons: Paul O’Neil Bobo and fiancee Pam Wilhelm of Spartanburg and Roger Dale Bobo and wife Kandy of Union; two sisters: Matrel Mosley and Sara Davis of Union; four brothers: Claude Bobo, Sam Bobo and Wayne Bobo all of Union and Jimmy Bobo of Spartanburg; four grandchildren: Roger Bobo, Jr. and wife Amanda, Brian Bobo and wife Heather, Lee Thornton and wife Kristen and Paul Bobo, II ; two great-grandchildren: Hayley Alexis Bobo and Adisyn Lee Thornton; a special friend: Betty Blackwood and her family of Jonesville. Mr. Bobo was predeceased by a son: Howard Bobo; a granddaughter: Meredith Bobo; three brothers: Ernest, Roy and Ray Bobo.

James Cudd
Mt. Pleasant, S.C.

Mr. James Cudd, age 92, widower of Ruby Robinson Cudd, of 664 Pelzer Dr. Mt. Pleasant, SC, died Wednesday, July 9, 2008, at the Hospice House of Charleston after a long and fruitful life.

Mr. Cudd was born in Union, July 23, 1915, a son of the late Nick and Bernice Bailey Cudd. In 1935, Mr. Cudd joined the Civilian Conservation Corp (CCC) and helped build Paris Mt. State Park in Greenville Co. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served with the 10th Mountain Div., 37th Infantry in the European-African, Middle East theater of operations during WWII. Mr. Cudd retired from Milliken and Co., after 35 years, having worked with the Excelsior and Ottaray Plants in Union. After retirement in 1980, he and his wife moved to Garden City, SC, then in 2000, moved to Mt. Pleasant, SC to be closer to his daughter and her family.

Surviving are a daughter: Donna Cudd Brown and husband Thomas of Mt. Pleasant; a sister: Dorothy C. Conley of Barnwell, SC, ; five granddaughters: Tessa Teague Moore of Greenwood, SC, Sharon Teague Ekern of Oviedo, FL, Amy Teague Hayes of Matton, IL, Ashley Brown and Kate Brown both of Mt. Pleasant, SC; a grandson: Patrick Brown of James Island, SC; 8 great-grandchildren. Mr. Cudd was preceded in death by two daughters: Ferrol Cudd Herbert and Tessa Gayle Cudd ; one sisters: Frances C. Bailey and two brothers: Harold and Bobby Cudd.

Graveside services with Military Honors will be held 11:00 AM, Monday, July 14, 2007, at Union Memorial Gardens conducted by Rev. Brad Goodale.

Active pallbearers will be grandson, Patrick Brown; great-grandsons: Ted Moore Mason Hayes and Carson Hayes; nephews: Charles Conley, Maxie Bailey, Mark Sumner and Kent Grant.

Kay McQuage Dillard

Mrs. Kay McQuage Dillard, age70, wife of Brock Dillard, of 214 Glendale Rd. Union, passed away July 11, 2008.

Mrs. Dillard was born September 21, 1937 in Bennetsville, SC, a daughter of the late James Lewis and Mildred McDaniel McQuage. She was a faithful member of First Presbyterian Church, where she taught Sunday School, was a member of the adult choir, a substitute organist, and was active with the Presbyterian Women.

Mrs. Dillard graduated from Columbia College with a BA in Chemistry and received a MAT in Mathematics at Converse College. She was retired after teaching 26 years with Union County Schools.

Surviving in addition to her husband is a son: Hugh Dillard and wife Joye of Fountain Inn, SC.; a daughter: Karen Fuller and husband Phillip of Summerville, SC; a sister: Ann Moody and husband: John Hugh of Bennettesville, SC.; a brother: J. L. MrQuage III of Sumter, SC.; four grandchildren: Mason Dillard, Grant Dillard, Cole Fuller, and Anna Fuller.

Memorial Services will be held 11:00 A.M. Monday, July 14, 2008 at First Presbyterian Church conducted by Rev. Robert Alexander and Rev. Sanders Read. Burial will be private at the Presbyterian Cemetery.

The family will receive friends following the Memorial Service in the Church Fellowship Hall.

Mr. Emslie G. "Red" Lawson, age 75, husband of Carol Farr Lawson, of 1612 Mt. Lebanon Rd. Pauline, SC., died Friday, July 11, 2008 after several months of declining health.

Mr. Lawson was born July 28, 1932 in Union, SC., a son of the late Alfred and Vera Lawson Lawson. He was an active member of Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church.

Mr. Lawson was a retired security guard with Carlisle Finishing Company and attended West Springs High School.

Survivors are two stepdaughters: Caron Jones of Union and Carla Martin and husband Greg of Moore; two brothers: Bobby Joe Lawson and wife Iris and Wayne Lawson and wife Edith both of Pauline; four grandchildren: Rachel Jones of Union; Catherine Martin of Columbia; Kimberly Martin of Moore; Barrett Martin of Greenville.

Services will be held 2:00 P.M. Monday July 14, 2008 at Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church conducted by Dr. Randy Pettit, Rev. Guy Langston, and Rev. Jamie Billings. Burial will be at Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church Cemetery.

Rev. Felix Alberry "F.A." Crompton

Rev. Felix Alberry "F.A." Crompton, age 90, widower of Kathleen J. Crompton, married 17 years, Penny Silver married 1 1/2 years and Lillian E. Arrowwood married 47 years, went to be with his Savior July 11, 2008.

Mr. Crompton was born in Anderson, SC, August 6, 1917, a son of the late John and Marcella Walker Crompton. He was the oldest member of Union Church of God and a life long student of the Bible.

Mr. Crompton was a Veteran of WWII. He worked as an Insurance Agent for Home Security and United Insurance Company of America.

Survivors are a daughter: Rebecca Rector of Monarch; a brother: John Crompton of Woodruff; 5 grandchildren; Cindy and husband Robert Head, Ricky, Scott, John David Rector and Stacy Greenway; 9 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. Mr. Crompton was predeceased by 3 sons: James and Curtis Greenway, and Kenneth Crompton; 3 brothers: Fred Bridgeman, Henry and Paul Crompton.

Funeral Services will be held at 4:00 P. M. Sunday, July 13, 2008 at Union Church of God conducted by the Rev. Alton Stone. Burial will be at Rosemont Cemetery.

Visitation will be held 3:00 - 4:00 PM prior to the service.

Mr. Charles K. McCoy, age 71, husband of Margaret Kyser McCoy of 475 Jones Ford Rd. Union, died Monday, July 14, 2008 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.

Mr. McCoy was born in Union, April 3, 1937 a son of the late Charlie McCoy and Margaret Baldwin McCoy. He was a retired associate of Milliken and Company and a member of Padgett’s Creek Baptist Church. Mr. McCoy was a member of the Union Masonic Lodge # 75.

Surviving in addition to his wife are a daughter: Vonda Ballew and husband Chris of Boiling Springs; two sons: Tommy Grady and wife Terri and Jon Grady and wife Tammy all of Union; a sister: Frances Moss and husband Harold of Union; a brother: Paul McCoy and wife Emma of Union; a special nephew: Brent Moss of Union; four grandchildren: Jessica Ballew, Kacie Grady, Ashley Grady, and Cole Grady; and additional nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, July 16, 2008 at Padgett’s Creek Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Carrol Caldwell. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Masonic Rites.

Mrs. Ruby Kate Farrow Smith, age 58, wife of Olin Smith of Suber Town Apts. Whitmire, SC died Monday, July 14, 2008 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Smith born in Chester, SC., March 23, 1950, a daughter of the late James and Elsie Farrow. She was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving in addition to her husband are a daughter: Loretta Willard and husband Danny of Whitmire; a step-daughter: Vicky Willard of Whitmire; four sisters: Geraldine Koppleman of Mayabar, FL.; Betty Stone of VA.; Polly Ferrell of Chester; and Gaynell Hern of Rock Hill; four brothers: George Farrow of Augusta, GA.; Bill Farrow of Spring Lake, NC.; Kenneth Farrow of Lancaster; and Michael Farrow of Chester; two grandchildren: Lee Willard and Deanna Willard; one step-granddaughter: Nicole Wadsworth; and two step-great-granddaughters: Kaytlin and MaKayla Wadsworth. Mrs. Smith was predeceased a step-daughter Shirley Smith.

Mrs. Blanche Trantham Walton, age 95, widow of Burleigh F. Walton, died Monday, July 14, 2008 at Wallace Thomson Hospital.

Mrs. Walton was born in Haywood, NC. September 1, 1912 a daughter of the late Harley and Adair Ledford Trantham. She was retired from Ottary Mill- Milliken and Company and was a member Mon Aetna Baptist Church.

Surviving are two daughters: Linda Bobo of Spartanburg; and Barbara Crisp of Union; a sister Ruth Ashe of Illinois; three grandchildren: Michael W. Crisp of Union; Charlie F. Bobo, III and wife Eileen of Greenville; Angela B. Varner and husband Tad of Spartanburg; four great-grandchildren: Brandi Vicars of Union; and Jazzmin Vicars of Fountain Inn; Charlie F. Bobo, IV and George Bobo; Mr. Walton was predeceased by granddaughter: Kimberly Vicars.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, July 17, 2008 at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home Chapel conducted by the Rev. Benny Green. Burial will be at Rosemont Cemetery.

Mr. Joseph Talmadge "J.T." Adams, age 84, husband of Mary Lois Holcombe Adams, of 691 Jefferies Farm Rd., Jonesville, died Tuesday, July 15, 2008 at Oakmont Nursing Home.

Mr. Adams was born in Kelton, SC, February 10, 1924, a son of the late James Talmadge Adams and Irene Gallman Adams. He was retired from Milliken Co., Pacolet Mill and had previously worked with Excelsior Mill in Union. Mr. Adams was a member of Morningstar Baptist Church of Pacolet.

Surviving in addition to his wife are a step-daughter: Barbara Robinson and husband John M. Of Jonesville; a sister: Mabel A. Hollingsworth of Union; four step-grandchildren: Ray Sanders and Michael Robinson of Union, Ann Fincher of Moore and Lisa Wine of Jonesville; 7 step-great-grandchildren and 5 step-great-great-grandchildren. Mr. Adams was predeceased by a step-daughter: Elizabeth G. Sanders, three brothers and one sister.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, July 17, 2008 at the Holcombe’s Jonesville Chapel conducted by Rev. Andrew Carrigan and Rev. Jackie Carrigan. Burial will be in the Gallman-Porter Cemetery.

Mr. Harold Ray Johnson, age 69, husband of Juanita Faulks Johnson of 115 Austin St. Union, died Wednesday, July 16, 2008 at Spartanburg Regional Hospital after a long illness.

Born January 9, 1939 in Union SC, he is the son of the late James Arthur Johnson and Eloise Scales Johnson of Union. Mr. Johnson is a veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was retired from Buffalo Mill and is a member of Browns Creek Baptist Church.

Surviving in addition to his wife are five sons; Michael and wife Judy of Pacolet, Dennis of Union, Harold and wife Loree of Roebuck, Ronald and wife Melissa of Woodruff, and Donald Johnson and one daughter Sheila Chitwood and husband Scott of Gaffney. He has eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Surviving in addition to his family are brothers Lynn and wife Debra, Jerry and wife Gayle, and Lonnie all of Union and is pre-deceased by his brother the late Curtis Johnson of Union. Also surviving are a number of Nieces and Nephews.

Funeral services will be held Friday, Julky 18, 2008 at 2:00 PM at Browns Creek Baptist Church conducted by Rev. John Lee. Burial will be the church cemetery. The family will receive friends after burial in the church Family Life Center.

Miss Mozelle Bower Osborne, age 80, of 2024 Whitmire Hwy., Union, SC. died early Wednesday morning, July 16, 2008.

Miss Osborne was born in Union County November 14, 1927 a daughter of the late Hampton B. And Eliza Maness Osborne. She was retired from Milliken Company-Monarch Plant, a member of Mon Aetna Baptist Church and attended New Hope Baptist Church.

Surviving are two daughters: Mitzi J. Caldwell of the home; Katrina J. Padgett of Boiling Springs, NC; a son: Randy J. Johnson of the home; a sister: Virgie Osborne of the home; four granddaughters; a special great-grandchild: Tyra Means of the home; six other great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Miss Laws was born in Union, a daughter of the late James Laws and Lula Rector Laws and was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was a graduate of Union High School and Dale Carnige Business School. She was employed with Wilburn Dry Goods and Belk’s and retired from the Union County Arts Council. She previously served as an officer for the Union Business And Professional Women’s Club.

Miss Laws was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church and the Homemakers Sunday School Class.

Surviving are a niece and nephew reared in the home; Beth W. Broome and husband Bud and Robert L. Wilkins and wife Brenda of Union; nieces reared in the home Tousha V. Smith and son Dillon, of Union and Kelly S. Crowe and husband Rev. Samuel J. Crowe of Summerville;

Mr. Petty was born in Buffalo on November 6, 1919, a son of the late Jack M. and Mammie Trammell Petty. He was retired from the United Merchants-Buffalo Plant and a member of Buffalo United Methodist Church. Mr. Petty was a Master Mason of the Buffalo Lodge and a member Redman Tribe.

Mr. Leonhardt was born in Buffalo, May 16, 1918, a son of the late J.B. and Agnes Trammell Leonhardt. He was retired from Milliken Co., Monarch Plant and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Mr. Leonhardt coached Little League Baseball for a number of years and was a member of Mon Aetna Baptist Church.

Surviving are one son: Ronald Leonhardt and wife Phyllis of Greenwood; three grandchildren: Craig Leonhardt and wife Sharon of Albany, GA, Statia Bennet of Union and Cord Leonhardt and wife Kayle of Seligman, MO; five great-grandchildren, 2 step-great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-granddaughter. Mr. Leonhardt was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

Graveside services will be held 10:00 AM Thursday, July 24, 2008 at Forest Lawn Cemetery conducted by Rev. Benny Green.

Mrs. Farmer was born in Union, April 8, 1941, a daughter of the late Bill and Audrey Ingle Moss. She was the loving mother of three sons, Glen and wife Patty Sullivan, Phillip and wife Sharon Sullivan both of Union, Eric and wife Lori Sullivan of Alabama; one daughter, Kathy and husband Ted Wilbanks of Union; a brother, Steve and wife Sandra Moss; a sister, Sharon and husband Wayne Morris, both of Union; a special friend, Amanda Weaver; loving grandmother "Mer" to 14 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; loving aunt of several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Farmer was preceased by a brother, Dennis Moss and two sisters, Gwendolyn Burnett and Beth Moss. She was an LPN with Chester Hospital, Wallace Thomson Hospital and Hope Hospital in Lockhart. She was a member of the Lockhart United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Woodsby was born in Union, November 13, 1941 a daughter of the late C.W. and Janie Lee Robinson Jenkins. She was a 1959 graduate of Lockhart High School, a graduate of Cecil’s Business College and attended Spartanburg Tech and Chester Nursing School. Mrs. Woodsby retired from Wallace Thomson Hospital having worked in the radiology department and later as a medical transcriptionist. She was a member of Lockhart First Baptist Church where she was a member of the Adult II Sunday School Class and served as secretary of Vacation Bible School for several years.

Surviving in addition to her husband are one daughter: Wendy Woodsby of Myrtle Beach; one son: Casey Woodsby of Union; two sisters: Janice J. Allen and Wanda Stein and husband Glenn all of Lockhart; two brothers: Luke Jenkins and wife Brenda of Lockhart and Dean Jenkins of Clemson; two grandchildren; a special great-grandson: Jadus, reared in the home and three other great-grandchildren.

Mr. Hicks was born in Union, January 5, 1939, a son of the late Jack Dale and Mary Elizabeth Mabry Hicks. He was a 1958 graduate of Union High School and was a former manager with TRW Fastner Corp. and retired from Conso Products in Union. Mr. Hicks was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served from 1960 until 1962 mostly in Baumholder, Germany. An active member of Bethel United Methodist Church, Mr. Hicks served on the Board of Trustees and was a dedicated member who loved his Lord.

His hobbies were hunting and fishing and he was a loving husband, father, and grandfather to his family.

Surviving in addition to his wife are one daughter: Tami H. Newton and husband Randy A. Newton of Union; one son: Mark Dale Hicks and wife Jennifer of Union; 5 grandchildren: Kyle Randol Newton, Ashley Elizabeth Newton, Kailey Mackenna Newton, Tori Elizabeth Hicks and Cortney Dale Hicks.

Mr. William Curtis "Curt" Teague, age 74, husband of Shirley Gregory Teague of 317 Westminister Circle, Union, went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, July 30, 2008 after a long illness. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother.

Mr. Teague was born in the Monarch community of Union, May 9, 1934, a son of the late Newland F. and Emma Willard Teague. Mr. Teague was a graduate of Union High School, Cecil’s Business College, Spartanburg Technical College and the University of South Carolina, Spartanburg. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force having served in Korea and England. After his tour of duty he attended college and was employed as a corporate accountant in private industry and later as a South Carolina State employee. He was a former member of the National Association of Accountants. Mr. Teague was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church, a member of the Senior Adult Sunday School Class, Men’s Club, and the Bethel "Bums".

Surviving in addition to his wife are two daughters: Beverly E. Teague of Union and Carlyne T. Puckett and husband Freddie of Union; two sisters: Nora T. Ingle of Union and Nancy T. Cagle of Simpsonville; two brothers: Robert Kenneth Teague of Union and Joe Stanley Teague of Mauldin; one grandson: Greg Boulware; four granddaughters: Chelsea Boulware, Brittany Teague, Brianne Teague and Makenzie Puckett all of Union and a number of nieces and nephews.
