Minnie W. Lawson
Union, SC

Minnie Whitehead Lawson, formerly of Union passed away at Bailey Manor in Clinton Thursday, May 31, 2012 with family by her side.

Mrs. Lawson was born in Union on January 4, 1923 to Howard Franklin and Evie Pruitt Whitehead. She was married to the late William Wallace Lawson.

Mrs. Lawson was a graduate of Union High School and Perry's Business College. She worked with the South Carolina Employment Security Commission for more than thirty-five years. Over the years Mrs. Lawson received a number of promotions and numerous recognitions for her efficiency, performance, and exceptional knowledge of program procedures and agency policies. At the time of her retirement she held the positions of Supervisor of the Union Claims Office and Assistant Office Manager of the Union Office.

A devoted member of Crestview Baptist Church, she first suggested the name Crestview which was adopted by the church members. Mrs. Lawson served on various committees, offices, and teaching positions for over seventy years.

For many years Mrs. Lawson was an active member of the Union Business and Professional Women's Club. She served in many capacities and represented the Union BPW Club at many state and national meetings.

Mrs. Lawson was also an active member of the Fairforest Chapter DAR. She helped decorate and served as a hostess for many years during the annual Rose Hill Christmas Open House.

For over two decades Mrs. Lawson served on the Board of Commissioners for the Union Housing Authority.

Mrs. Lawson is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Kathy and Dennis Campbell of Clinton; her granddaughters Mary-Wallace Riley and husband Alex of Clinton and Anne-Jackson Jeffcoat and husband Jonathan of Simpsonville; her great-grandchildren Daniel Alexander and Lydia Campbell Riley of Clinton; her brother Randolph Whitehead of Union; and a host of special nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her sister Ruth Fallaw; and her brothers W.H., Ben, Ed, and Frank Whitehead.

Funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, June 2, 2012 at Crestview Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Josh Freeman. Burial will be at Mt.Lebanon Baptist Church.

Pallbearers will be her nephews Tommy Whitehead, Dennis Whitehead, James Whitehead, Charles Whitehead, Robbie Whitehead, and John Fallaw. Nephew Billy Fallaw will serve as organist for the service along with her granddaughter, Anne-Jackson, soloist.

The family will receive friends prior to the service Saturday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM at the church.

The family would like to thank Rita Stanley, Administrator, her staff, and the residents at Bailey Manor who were so wonderful to Mrs. Lawson. Bailey Manor is a non-profit Ministry which was established to meet the needs of PCA members and other retired Christians. Bailey Manor's vision is to glorify God as a Christian retirement community/home founded upon the Word of God; providing a Christ-centered, caring, and fulfilling environment.

Flora “Toby” Vaughan
Union, S.C.

Mrs. Flora “Toby” Scales Vaughan, age 88, widow of J.V. Vaughan, Jr. of 316 River Rd., Union, passed away, Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at Park Place Assisted Living in Spartanburg.

Mrs. Vaughan was born in Adamsburg, December 18, 1923, a daughter of the late James M. and Elizabeth Porter Scales. She was a graduate of Lockhart High School and Kings Business College. Mrs. Vaughan retired from Torrington Co. and was member of Philippi Baptist Church where she was a member of the Women’s III Sunday School class.

Surviving are two sons: James V. “Jimmy” Vaughan, Jr. and wife Lynn of Union and Joel A. Vaughan of the home; one sister: Louise Gregory formerly of Lockhart; and two grandchildren: Betsy and Jay Vaughan. Mrs. Vaughan was predeceased by a sister, Daisy Lee Young and three brothers: James, Robert and Charlie Scales.

Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Friday, June 1, 2012 at Philippi Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Brad Goodale. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Keith Reardon, Robert Palmer, Butch Walden, Phil Garner, Tommy Calhoun, Ronnie Crocker and Bobby Turner

Member of the Women’s III Sunday School class, staff and employees of Oakmont Nursing Home and Park Place Assisted Living are all asked to sit in a group. Dr. Gerald Fielder, Rev. Jesse Bentley, Rev. Jerry Ford and Mrs. Evelyn Alman are asked to serve as the honorary escort.

Visitation will be held 6:00 until 8:00 PM Thursday evening at Philippi Baptist Church.

Howard L. Nelson
Jonesville, SC

Mr. Howard L. Nelson, age 82 of 133 Fairbanks Street, Jonesville, SC passed away Friday, May 25, 2012 at Oakmont of Union.

Mr. Nelson was born in Jonesville, SC November 2, 1929, a son of the late W.A. Nelson and Dora Clark Nelson. He retired from the Town of Jonesville and was a member of Jonesville Baptist Church.

Surviving are a brother, Curtis L. Nelson of Jonesville; a sister, Mary Ruth Gregory of Spartanburg and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Nelson was predeceased by five brothers: Arthur, Herbert, William, J.B. and George Nelson.

Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM Monday, May 28, 2012 at Gilead Baptist Church Cemetery conducted by Rev. Ralph Brown.

Visitation will be held at the graveside immediately following the service.

Homer Walker Babb
Buffalo, SC

Mr. Homer Walker Babb, age 76, husband of Janice Mitchell Babb of 117 Duncan Avenue, Buffalo, SC passed away Thursday, May 24, 2012 at his home.

Mr. Babb was born in Buffalo, SC December 15, 1935, a son of the late James Herbert Babb, Sr. and Lillie Mae Varner Babb. He was a graduate of Union High School and retired from Cone Mills after forty years of service. Mr. Babb retired as a Reserve Deputy with the Union County Sheriff’s Department; served as Chief with the Buffalo Fire Department and was a member of the Masonic Lodge #256 in Buffalo and a Shriner. He was also a member of the Redmon Tribe #40 and a member of the York Rites and Scottish Rites.

Surviving in addition to his wife of 58 years are a daughter, Cindy Babb Moore and husband Dennis of Columbia; a sister, Kathy Babb Stokes; two brothers: James Carl Babb and wife Lynn and Harold Eugene Babb; a sister-in-law, Rhonda Fennell Babb; a brother-in-law, Robert Glenn Sparks all of Union and a number of nieces and nephews. Mr. Babb was predeceased by a son, David Walker Babb and a brother Ralph Edward Babb.

Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, May26, 2012 at Union Memorial Gardens conducted by Rev. Dr. Jim Ivey.

Visitation will be held at the home of his sister, Kathy B. Stokes, 741 Hawkins Rd., Union following the service.

The family is at the home, 117 Duncan Avenue, Buffalo.

Vicky Painter Moore
Union,SC

Vicky Painter Moore, age 54, of 305 Arthur Blvd., Union, SC, passed away Wednesday morning, May 23, 2012, at her home.

Ms. Moore was born in Union, SC February 17, 1958, a daughter of the late James E. Painter and Helen Thrift Painter. She was a member of New Life Baptist Church and was a loving mother and grandmother.

Surviving are two daughters: Cindy Thompson and husband Rick and Stacy Betenbaugh all of Union; three brothers: Ronnie Painter and wife Debbie of Laurens, Larry Painter and wife Linda and Kenneth Painter and wife Amy all of Union and six grandchildren: Makayla Thompson, Gavin Thompson, Kirsten Betenbaugh, Skyler Betenbaugh, Cory Betenbaugh and Cile Betenbaugh.

Graveside services will be held 12:30 Pm Saturday, May 26, 2012 at Rosemont Cemetery conducted by Rev. Jimmy Skinner.

Active pallbearers will be Blake Painter, Josh Lowery, Jacob Painter, John Lowe, Adam Milburn and Talmadge Howell.

Visitation will be held 11:00 AM-12:30 PM Saturday at the SR Holcombe Funeral Home.

The family is at the home of her daughter, Stacy Betenbaugh, 217 Church Street, Buffalo.

James Allen Faulks

Mr. James Allen Faulks, age 59, of 214A Gault Ave, Union, widow of Margaret Faulks, died Sunday, May 13, 2012.

Mr. Faulks was born, July 23, 1952, a son of the late Walter Dewey and Mary Ellen Bell Faulks. He was a self-employed small engine repairman.

Surviving are two sisters; Juanita Johnson and Sarah Greene, both of Union; two brothers, Walter and Jimmy Faulks, also of Union.

Services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, May 26, 2012 at Lockhart Free Will Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Brian Bishop.

Alice L. Summers
Union, S.C.

Mrs. Alice LeMaster Summers, wife of the late Thomas K. Summers of 113 Almac St., Union, passed away Friday, May 18, 2012 at the Regional Hospice Home in Spartanburg, after a lengthy illness.

Mrs. Summers was born in Gaffney, January 5, 1922, a daughter of the late George W. LeMaster and Sallie Wilkes LeMaster. She graduated from Gaffney High School and Limestone College with further education at Winthrop College and Appalachian State University. After two years as a teacher, Mrs. Summers came to Union where she served as a teacher and librarian at Union High School for more than thirty years.
Mrs. Summers was a devoted member of Grace United Methodist Church where she served in various capacities, including the Altar Guild. She was also a member of the Sigma Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma, an honorary society for outstanding women educators.

Surviving are a daughter: Sally E. Summers of Union; a sister and brother-in-law: Mr. and Mrs. J. Fred Jeffries of Waukegan, MI; a brother-in-law: Mr. George F. Cook of Jacksonville, FL; a sister-in-law: Mrs. Elma Hecht of Orangeburg; and a brother-in-law and sister-in-law: Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Summers also of Orangeburg. She is survived by many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the following caregivers who were so wonderful to Mrs. Summers during her illness: Mrs. Judy Guyton, Mrs. Judy Kerr, Mrs. Donna Rice, Ms. Joyce Simmons, Ms. Angie Kelly and Mrs. Fannie Means.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM, Sunday, May 20, 2012 at Grace United Methodist Church conducted by Rev. David Caughman. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Donald Bonnette, Wray Bonnette, Jerry Summers, Gary Summers, Mike Nichols, Paul Barnett and Evans Crocker.

Visitation will be held 7:00 until 8:30 PM Saturday evening at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home.

Larry “Fuzz” Parris
Pacolet, S.C.

Mr. Larry “Fuzz” Parris, age 67, of 220 Cleveland St. Pacolet, passed away Thursday, May 17, 2012 at Mary Black Memorial Hospital after a long illness.

Mr. Parris was born in Pacolet, September 19, 1945, a son of the lateWilliam Carpenter Parris and Hattie Ethel Camby Parris. He was a retired construction worker and was a former member of the South Carolina National Guard. Mr. Parris was a member of Hammett’s Grove Baptist Church.

Surviving are a son: Derrick Parris and wife Christina of Spartanburg; a sister: Miriam Millwood of Jonesville; a brother: Ronnie Parris and wife June of Pacolet; and 5 grandchildren: Jordan, Jenna, Charlie, Benjamin, and Michael Parris. Mr. Parris was predeceased by two sisters: Dorothy Thorton and Delores Moore; and five brothers: Bud, John Earl, Dean, Billy and Lloyd Parris.

Graveside services will be held 3:30 PM Sunday, May 20, 2012 at Hammett’s Grove Baptist Church Cemetery conducted by Rev. Dennis Tessnier.

The family will receive friends prior to the services from 2:00 until 3:30 PM in the church fellowship hall.

Rev. William Demauth Blanton
Union, S.C.

The Rev. William Demauth Blanton, age 80, husband of Beatrice Adams Blanton of Union, passed away Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at his home.

Rev. Blanton was born in Kings Mountain, NC, June 23, 1931, a son of the late J.Wiley and Quilla Bell Blanton. He was a graduate of Kings Mountain High School, Mars Hill College, Wake Forest College and the Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, NC. He was ordained by the First Baptist Church of Kings Mountain. He served as pastor of churches in Maryland, Massachusetts and Virginia. On July 1, 1968, by special selection and invitation by the staff, Rev. Blanton became an Intern and subsequently a Resident in the School of Pastoral Care, Bowman Gray School of Medicine, NC Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem, NC where he received special training in Clinical Pastoral Education and Pastoral Counseling. On July 1, 1970, he became Staff Chaplain and Pastoral Counselor at the Appalachian Regional Hospitals in Beckley, West Virginia and South Williamson, Kentucky. On February 1, 1974, he came to Union to serve as Director and Pastoral Counselor at the Union Mental Health Clinic, a position from which he retired on June 30, 1995. Rev. Blanton was a member of the First Baptist Church, Greenville, SC.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Paul D. Blanton and Dr. Mary Boggiano of Hoover, AL; a daughter, Anna A. Blanton of Varnville, SC; two grandchildren, Colin and Martha K. Blanton of Birmingham, AL; a brother and sister-in-law, Howard and Lois Blanton of Kings Mountain; a sister-in-law, Dixie Blanton also of Kings Mountain and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Harold Blanton in 1993.

At Rev. Blanton request, he will be cremated. The family will hold a private memorial service at a later date.

Timothy Mark Smith
Buffalo, SC

Mr. Timothy Mark Smith, age 48 of 106 Forest Meadow Avenue, Buffalo, SC passed away Thursday, May 10, 2012 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Smith was born in Union, SC April 1, 1964, a son of Jean Brown Smith-Stewart of Buffalo and the late Bobby G, Smith. He was a graduate of Union High School and had attended Spartanburg Technical College. Mr. Smith retired from Union County School Systems where he worked in the Resource Center. He was an avid outdoors man, participating in several archery tourments and enjoyed riding motorcycles.

Surviving in addition to his mother are a daughter, Kirsten Smith of Union; a step-father, Rufus Stewart of Buffalo; a sister, Deborah Southard of Greenwood; a niece, Cayden Jackson of Spartanburg and a nephew, Gene Smith of Greenwood. Mr. Smith was predeceased by a sister, Susan Elizabeth Smith and maternal grandparents, Ernest and Ava O’Shields.

Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Saturday, May 12, 2012 at Putman Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Rick Henderson and Rev. R.B. Ashby. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Active palbearers will be Ray Vinson, Johnny Taylor, James Rose, A.J. Rose, Tim Justice and Freddie Moore.

Rosanna L. Martin
Union, SC

Mrs. Rosanna L. Martin, age 48, wife of Charles Wayne Martin of 1470 Peach Orchard Rd., Union, SC passed away Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at Wallace Thomson Hospital.

Mrs. Martin was born in Greenville, SC February 3, 1964, a daughter of the late John Ross Seibert, Sr and Violet Kelly Fallen. She was a member of Lakeside Baptist Church.

Surviving in addition to her husband are two daughters: Charlene West and husband Billy and Nicki Robertson and boyfriend Mark Williams all of Union; a sister, Wanda Collins and husband Jerry of Pageland; two brothers: Johnny Seibert and wife Kathy of Laurens and Rusty Cubb of North Carolina; six grandchildren: Tyler Ellis, Haylee West, Katie Robertson, Bayleigh Robertson, William O’Shields and Caitlynn O’Shields all of Union. Mrs. Martin was predeceased by a grandson, Malcolm O’Shields.

Funeral services will be held 4:00 PM Saturday, May 12, 2012 at SR Holcombe Funeral Chapel conducted by Rev. Scott Cobb. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery.

Visitation will be held 7:00-9:00 PM Friday evening at the SR Holcombe Funeral Home.

Shirley G. Teague
Union, S.C.

Mrs. Shirley Nola Gregory Teague, age 73, widow of William Curtis Teague of 317 Westminister Circle, Union, passed away Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center after a brief illness.

Mrs. Teague was born in Union, June 16, 1938, a daughter of the late Russell and Maudie Jett Gregory. She was a graduate of Union High School and was retired from Graham’s Flowers. Mrs. Teague was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church where she was a member of the United Methodist Women’s Circle #1.

Mrs. Teague was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She is survived by a daughter: Beverly Teague of the home; five grandchildren: Donald Gregory Boulware, Chelsea Jordan Boulware, Brittany Maria Teague, Brianne Nicole Teague all of Union and Makenzie Nola Puckett of the home; one great-grandson: Nathan Elijah Hendrix; and her best friend: Lisa Reebenaker of Union. Mrs. Teague was predeceased by a daughter, Carlyne Maria Teague, two sisters: Sara Eaves and Lucille Robertson; three brothers: James Gregory, Buck Gregory and W.D. Gregory.

A memorial service will be held 10:00 AM Friday morning, May 11, 2012 at Bethel United Methodist Church conducted Rev. Terry Mitchell. The family will receive friends at the church immediately following the service.

Baxter Evans McAbee
Union, S.C.

Mr. Baxter Evans McAbee, age 84, of 207 Austin St., Union, passed away at his home after a sudden illness.

Mr. McAbee was born in Jonesville, July 19, 1927 a son of the late James William McAbee and Addie Fitch McAbee. He was retired from Spartanburg Steel and also Pinkerton Security. He was a member of Morningside Baptist Church and was a life member of the Masonic Lodge #334. Mr. McAbee was a veteran of the US Army having served during WWII.

Mr. McAbee was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He is survived by a daughter: Elaine Patrick and husband Randy of Fountain Inn; two sons: William Evans McAbee and wife Sandi of McClellanville and Joe McAbee and wife Lou of Chesnee; 9 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. Mr. McAbee was predeceased by a sister, Mae Wilson, and three brothers, Charles McAbee, Joe McAbee and Raford McAbee.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, May 12, 2012 at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Chapel conducted by Rev. Ricky Cook. Burial will be in Gilead Baptist Church Cemetery with Military Honors and Masonic Rites.

Visitation will be held 6:00 until 8:00 PM Friday evening at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home.

The family will be at their respective homes.

Annie Lee Gardin
Jonesville, S.C.

Mrs. Annie Lee Gardin, age 84, widow of James Richard Gardin of 672 Gaffney Hwy., Jonesville, went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, May 8, 2012.

Mrs. Gardin was born in Newberry, December 7, 1927, a daughter of the late Melvin and Cephia Gregory Burch. She was retired from Ace Sweater in Union.

Graveside services will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, May 10, 2012 at the Gardin Family Cemetery in Jonesville conducted by Rev. Robert Branch.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the graveside.

The family would like to express their gratitude to Harmony Care Hospice for their care and concern for Mrs. Gardin during her illness.

The family will be at the home of her daughter: Karen and Danny Holt, 429 Pacolet St., Jonesville.

Mrs. Beatrice Martin Ketterman, age 88, widow of Walter Ketterman, formerly of Fair Lane Union, passed away Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at Ellen Sagar Nursing Home.

Mrs. Ketterman was born in Union, August 9, 1923, a daughter of the late Tally G. and Bessie Redman Martin. She was a graduate of Union High School and was retired from Milliken and Co., Excelsior Plant. Mrs. Ketterman was a member of Duncan Acres United Methodist Church where she was a member of Loyalty Sunday school class.

Surviving are two sons: Jerry Ketterman, and Stanley D. Ketterman and wife Ann all of Union; two sisters: Doris Ruth Smith of Columbia and Sally Cogdell of Landrum; 4 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 4:00 PM Thursday, May 10, 2012 at Duncan Acres United Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Merritt Wentz. Burial will be at Fairforest Baptist Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be held 7:00 until 9:00 PM Wednesday evening at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Chapel.

Mrs. Teressa Elaine Hite Gallman, age 89, widow of William Arthur Gallman, Sr. of Jonesville, passed away Friday, May 4, 2012 at White Oak Estates in Spartanburg after a brief illness.

Mrs. Gallman was born in Aiken, July 27, 2012, a daughter of the late Rev. Everett Ernest Hite, Sr. and Mary Rudelle Eargle Hite. She was a graduate of Jonesville High School and attended Limestone College. Mrs. Gallman worked along side her husband at Gallman’s Grocery in Jonesville for many years and was a member of Jonesville Baptist Church.

Surviving are a son: Everette Hite Gallman and wife Dot of Union; a son-in-law: Gary Keith Hearn, Sr. of Spartanburg; two sisters: Mary Rudelle Hite Perry of Johnston and Montine Rose Hite Lancaster of Ware Shoals; a sister-in-law: Emily Harvin Hite Grier of Huntersville, NC; three granddaughters: Kelly Hearn Trakas of Tryon, SC, Amanda Hearn Hunt of Evans, GA and Rosemary Greer Flick of Greenwood; four grandsons: Gary Keith Hearn, Jr. of Columbia, Everette Ashley Gallman of Charleston, John Hite Gallman of Myrtle Beach, and William Arthur Gallman, III of Greenwood; eleven great-grandchildren: Sumpter Anne Steelmon, Jonathan Andrew Steelmon, William Arthur Gallman, IV, Roselynn Grace Gallman, Graham Robert Gallman, William Trakas, Anna Trakas, Andrew Hunt, Grant Hunt, Ansley Hunt and Austin Ashley Gallman. Mrs. Gallman was predeceased by a daughter: Teressa (Tess) Gallman Hearn; a son: William Arthur Gallman, Jr., and two brothers: Everett Ernest Hite, Jr. and William Jackson Hite.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Monday, May 7, 2012 at Jonesville Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Ralph Brown and Rev. Alan West. Burial will be in Gilead Baptist Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Sunday evening at the Holcombe’s Jonesville Chapel.

Frances Gayle Wood

Miss Frances Gayle Wood, age 64 of 296 Meansville Rd., Apt. E17, Union, SC, went home to be with her Lord and her heavenly familyThursday, May 3, 2012 at her home.

Miss Wood was born in Union, SC June 18, 1947, a daughter of the late Daniel Wood and Willie Austin Wood. She was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving are three sisters: Pam Vaughan and husband Chris of Union, Dianne Webb and Darlene Scogin both of Joanna and a number of nieces and nephews. Miss Wood was predeceased by two brothers: Paul Wood and James Earl Wood.

Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, May 6, 2012 at SR Holcombe Funeral Chapel conducted by Mr. Jerry Gossett. Burial will be in Rosemont Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Ryan Webb, Hunter Webb, Cole Webb, Kenny Meredith, Chad Webb and Ricky Knox.

Visitation will be held 2:00-3:00 PM Sunday in the chapel prior to the service.

The family is at the home of her sister, Pam and Chris Vaughan, 131 Brannon Rd., Union.

Steven (Daddy-O) Bailey
Union, S.C.

Mr. Steven Thomas “Daddy-O” Bailey, age 52 of 1954 Jonesville-Lockhart Hwy., Union, went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, May 2, 2012, at Regional Hospice Home in Spartanburg after a brief illness.

Mr. Bailey was born in Union, March 2, 1960 a son of Elvie D. Vaughan Bailey of Union and the late Edmond Neil Bailey. He was a graduate of Union High School and was retired from Sonoco Products.

Surviving in addition to his mother are two sisters: Elaine Gault and husband Bobby of Union and Deborah Pelham and husband Steve of Salem, AL; two brothers: Tim Bailey of Union and Rickey Bailey and wife Debbie of La Place, LA; special nieces; Crystal Keatley and husband Mark, Nikki Sorrells and husband Benji, Samantha Parker and nine other nieces and nephews; 20 great nieces and nephews; special friends: Lynn and Sara O’Shields and Mark and Angie Meador.

Funeral services will be held 3:30 PM Saturday, May 5, 2012, at Mon Aetna Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Josh Freeman and Mr. Jerry Gossett. Burial will be in Union Memorial Gardens.

Active pallbearers will be Benji Sorrells, Lynn O’Shields, Mark Keatley, Stanley Boulware, Mark Meador and Chuck Montgomery.

Visitation will be held at the church from 1:30 until 3:30 PM prior to the services.

The family will be at the home of his niece, Crystal and Mark Keatley, 305 Lakeside Dr., Union.

April Dawn Branch
Lockhart, SC

April Dawn Eubanks Branch, age 32, went home to be with the Lord, April 28, 2012. She is the daughter of Lois Ellen Queen Garner of Lockhart and the late Ronald Terry Eubanks and step-daughter of Gerald Garner of Lockhart.

April is survived also by a daughter: Kennedi Carolina Branch of Gaffney; two sons Austin Healy Blackburn of Cliffside, NC and Kenneth Branch of Gaffney; and a brother: Ronald Wayne Eubanks and wife Gena of Lockhart.

April was a loving mother and a caregiver to her own mother who is in bad health. She loved growing flowers and loved her friends.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Chapel conducted by Rev. Ben Hill. Visitation will be held in the chapel immediately following the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the April Branch Fund, P.O. Box 293, Union, SC 29379.

The family is at the home, 125 South Third St., Lockhart.
