Mrs. Agnes Brenda Ann Davis Lane, age 73 of 144 Edgewood Drive, Union, widow of J.B. Lane, passed away Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at Regional Hospice Home. Mrs. Lane was born in Union, SC July 19, 1941, a daughter of the late Dewey and Georgia Gibson Davis. She was formerly employed with Her Majesty and Top Value Stamp Store of Union. Mrs. Lane was a member of Mon Aetna Baptist Church and the Union Co. Rambling Roses Red Hat Club. She was also a member of the South-Eastern Band of the Cherokee Indian Tribe and was given the Indian name, "Red Bird". Surviving are two daughters: Sheena West and husband Billy and Tammy Garner and husband Van; a son, Freddie Lane and fiancée Laura Frye all of Union; a sister, Orlene Wallen of Whitmire; four grandchildren: Chris West and wife Kristi, Tiffany Littlejohn and husband Lee, Melissa Hancock and husband John and Karlie Lane; and two great-grandchildren, Lillie Hancock and Bentley Wheeler West. Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Thursday, October 16, 2014 at Mon Aetna Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Dr. Ron Gaddy, Rev. Benny Green, Rev. Bob Cato and Rev. Lee Franklin. Burial will be in Hawkins-Lane Family Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Carlton Chastain, Billy Grady, Ronnie Arthur, Thomas Gibson, Bob Gibson, Phil Garner, Eddie Wayne Davis and Robbie Owens. The following are asked to serve as the honorary pallbearers, Tim Harrison, Derrill Eaves, Kenny Arthur and all the Lane family nephews. Ladies of the Union Co. Rambling Roses Red Hat Club along with special friends, Mary Frances Fincher, Mary Jane Chastain, Nell Malpass, Annette Johnson, Ann Grady and Dale & Buck Bright are asked to sit in a group. Visitation will be held 1:00-2:45 PM Thursday at the church prior to the service. Memorials may be made to Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home, 686 Jeff Davis Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29303. The family is at the home, 144 Edgewood Drive, Union.
