Al Jennings, Jr.

January 8, 2016 Mr. Al Jennings, Jr., age 68 of 201 2nd Avenue, Union, widower of Patricia Burnett Jennings, passed away Friday, January 8, 2016 at Spartanburg Medical Center. Mr. Jennings was born in Union, SC September 9, 1947, a son of the late Al Jennings, Sr. and Doris Blakely Jennings. He retired from Cone Mill, Carlisle Finishing and was a member of Ottaray Baptist Church. Surviving are two step-sons: Ricky O'Shields and wife Teresa of Union and Darrell O'Shields and wife Stacey of Cowpens; four grandchildren; a great-grandchild; two sisters: Clara Groves and husband Tony and Christine Walton and husband Jerry all of Union and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Jennings was predeceased by a sister, Brenda Kay Jennings and a brother, Terry Jennings. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Monday, January 11, 2016 at SR Holcombe Funeral Chapel conducted by Rev. Ricky Cook. Active pallbearers will be Kenny Walton, II, Jeff Groves, Kevin Groves, Mike Groves, Steve Walton and Christopher Walton, Jr. Mr. Jennings will be carried to the home, 201 2nd Avenue Union, Saturday evening where the family will receive friends Sunday.
