Mr. Alexander “Buddy” Freeman, Jr., age 88, widower of Joyce Lawson Freeman, formerly of Lakeview Heights, Union, passed away Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at Woodruff Manor.

Mr. Freeman was born in Union, August 10, 1937, a son of the late Alexander Freeman, Sr. and Sue Lea Freeman. He attended Union High School and retired from Milliken and Co., Monarch Plant. Mr. Freeman was a member of Morningside Baptist Church.

Surviving are two grandchildren, Jacob Robinson and wife Logan, and Marah Robinson and fiancé Will Long all of Union; a son-in-law, Marty Robinson of Union; a brother, Pryor Freeman, and two great grandchildren, Madelyn Gibson and Avery Robinson. He was predeceased by his daughter, Melinda F. Robinson and siblings, Ray Freeman, Pete Freeman, James Freeman, Harold Freeman, Hilda Timmons and Ruth Foster.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, July 26, 2026, at Union Memorial Gardens conducted by Rev. Dr. Eddie Saxon. The family will receive friends at the graveside immediately following the services.

The family would like to say a special Thank You to the staff and nurses of Woodruff Manor and Spartanburg Regional Hospice for the care given to Mr. Freeman during his illness.

The family will be at their respective homes.
