Alice Mize Gregory

January 23, 2018 Mrs. Alice Faye Mize Gregory, age 66, wife of Terry J. Gregory of 318 W. South St., Union, passed away suddenly, Sunday January 21, 2018 at the Tidelands Waccamaw Hospital in Murrells Inlet. Mrs. Gregory was born in Union, July 7, 1951, a daughter of the late Harold and Dr. Doris Jean Clark Mize. She was a 1969 graduate of Union High School and received her nursing degree from the Mary Black School of Nursing, USC Spartanburg. She retired from Wallace Thomson Hospital and the S.C. Dept. of Corrections. She was a CPR instructor with the American Red Cross. Mrs. Gregory was a member of Mon Aetna Baptist Church where she tended the nursery. Surviving in addition to her husband are four sons: Michael Poole and wife Melinda of Union, Travis Poole and wife Dannette of Newberry, Phillip Gregory and wife KaDana and Jason Gregory and wife Bobby Ann all of Union; a sister: Betty M. Loyd and husband Sandy; a brother: Danny Mize and wife Sheila all of Union; her mother-in-law: Pearl Creasman Gregory of Union; ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Mrs. Gregory was predeceased by her father-in-law, Judson Gregory. A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at Mon Aetna Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Chris Gulledge. Visitation will be held from 1:00 until 2:00 PM prior to the services at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mon Aetna Baptist Church, 1431 Lockhart Hwy., Union, SC 29379 or to the Alzheimer's Association, 901 S. Pine St., Spartanburg, SC 29302. The family will be at the home, 318 W. South St., Union.
