Alien Smith

Miss Alien Smith, age 88, of 108 Hillcrest Dr., Union, passed away, Monday, September 20, 2021 at Union Medical Center.

Miss Smith was born in Union, June 17, 1933, a daughter of the late Wylie Drayton Smith and Lois West Smith. She was a graduate of Union High School and retired from Spring Industries in Chester. Miss Smith was a faithful member of Duncan Acres United Methodist Church where she served as a Sunday School teacher for many years. She also volunteered with the Union Co. Meals on Wheels.

Surviving are a brother, William M. Smith and wife JoCarol of Union; numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews including Kayla Cody Bishop, Brooke Smith Farmer and Brett Smith, who thought of her as another grandmother. Miss Smith was predeceased by four sisters, Clara Wright, Lillie Mae Scruggs, Juanita Scruggs and Mary Lee Allen and one brother, Jimmy Ray Smith.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, September 23, 2021, at Rosemont Cemetery conducted by Rev. Merritt Wentz.  The family will receive friends immediately following the services at the cemetery.
