Allen Edison Cranford

Mr. Allen Eidson "Peck" Cranford, age 84 of 114 Douglas Heights, Union, passed away Thursday, May 1, 2014 at Mary Black Memorial Hospital. Mr. Cranford was born in Union, SC August 15, 1929, a son of the late Hinton Dupree Cranford and Emmie Dora Eidson Cranford. He was a graduate of Union High School and a 1949 graduate of Wofford College. Mr. Cranford retired as co-owner of J. Cohen Company. He was of the Baptist Faith and was a Mason. Mr. Cranford was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Surviving are two daughters, Allison C. Thompson and husband Scott of Lockhart and Jeri C. Inman and husband Johnny of Union; a son, Jeffrey Martin Cranford of Union; twelve grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr Cranford was predeceased by a son, Eddie Wayne Cranford, a sister, Martha Bullington and a brother, H.D. "Bubber" Cranford, Jr. Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, May 4, 2014 at SR Holcombe Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Rosemont Cemetery with Masonic Rites. Visitation will be held 6:00-8:00 PM Saturday evening at the SR Holcombe Funeral Home. The family is at the home of his daughter, Allison and Scott Thompson, 283 Lockhart Drive, Lockhart, SC 29364.
