Allen George "Tony" Groves, III

Mr. Allen George “Tony” Groves, III, age 80 husband of Clara Jennings Groves of 808 Webber Lake Rd., Union, passed away Monday, February 23, 2026 at his home.

Mr. Groves was born in Charleston, February 8, 1946, a son of the late Allen George Groves, II and Ruth Still Groves Grubbs. He retired from Cone Mill, Carlisle Finishing after 43 years of service. Mr. Groves was a member of Fairview Baptist Church.

Surviving in addition to his wife of 59 years, Clara are a daughter, Sandy Sprouse and husband Russell of Cowpens; three sons, Mike Groves and wife Anita of Pacolet, Jeff Groves and wife Beverly of Buffalo and Kevin Groves of Union; seven grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. Mr. Groves was predeceased by two brothers, Joe Groves and Jackie Groves.

The family would like to say a special Thank You to the staff and nurses of Spartanburg Regional Hospice for their care and love shown to Mr. Groves and his family during his illness.

Graveside services will be held at 3:30 PM Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at Union Memorial Gardens conducted by Rev. Dr. Don McCutcheon. Visitation will be held prior to the services Wednesday from 2:00 until 3:00 PM at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home.

The family will be at the home, 808 Webber Lake Rd., Union.
