Alun Horne Gregory

Mrs. Alun Horne Gregory, age 99, of 812 Forest St., Jonesville, widow of Robert J. Gregory passed away Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at Heartland of Union. Mrs. Gregory was born in Cherokee County on July 6, 1917 a daughter of the late Jesse J. Horne and Grace Horne Horne. She was a graduate of Jonesville High School and retired from J.P. Stevens Manufacturing. Mrs. Gregory was a member of Jonesville Baptist Church where she enjoyed being member of the "Happy Hearts" and was also a member of the Jonesville Senior Citizens Group. Mrs. Gregory and her sister Loree enjoyed visiting with their many friends in the Jonesville Community. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Surviving are one son, Jim Gregory and wife Rosemary of Jonesville and a number of nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by one sister, Loree Horne and two brothers, Lamar Horne and J.T. Horne. Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, March 10, 2017 at Gilead Baptist Church Cemetery conducted by the Rev. Scott Cannon. Visitation will be held 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Thursday evening at Holcombe's Jonesville Chapel. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Jonesville Baptist Church, PO Box 279, Jonesville, SC 29353. The family is at the home of her son 830 Forest St., Jonesville, SC 29353.
