March 20, 2018 Mr. Alvin Kenneth "Cigar" Binkley, age 71 of 460 E. Georgia St., Woodruff, passed away Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at the Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Mr. Binkley was born in Nashville, TN, September 27, 1946 a son of the late Leland and Rosie Lee Markham Binkley. He was a graduate of Coopertown High School and the Auto and Truck School in Nashville. He was the owner and operator of Augusta Auto Transport. Mr. Binkley was a Veteran of the U.S. Army and was a member of New Hope United Methodist Church in Jonesville. Surviving are his wife Carolyn Y. Binkley of the home, a daughter Gina Collier Ballard and husband Benji of Spartanburg; two sons, Robin Collier of Gastonia, NC and Jeffrey Collier of Carlisle; four granddaughters, Amber White and friend Shuford of Union, Julia Ballard of Woodruff, Megan Mathis of Lancaster, and Kelsey Collier Barfield of Spartanburg; two grandsons, Robin Scott Collier, Jr. of Clover and Jamie Ivey of Jonesville and five great-grandchildren. Mr. Binkley was predeceased by a daughter, Sheila Collier Bogan, a grandson, Curtiss Collier and his mother-in-law, Doris Davis "Mamarsh" Hogue. The family wishes to express a special thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff of Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home for their care and love shown to Mr. Binkley during his stay. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, March 25, 2018 at New Hope United Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Dr. Jim Ivey.
