Mrs. Anna Gault Harris, age 98, formerly of Harris Lake Rd., Union, widow of William "Fred" Harris, passed away Tuesday, December 15, 2015. Mrs. Harris was born in Spartanburg Co., October 3, 1917, a daughter of the late Haskell and Maggie Gallman Gault. She and her husband managed Harris Lake, enjoyed farming and attending the Farmer's Market. Mrs. Harris was a wonderful cook and had also worked along with her daughter at Hilda's Dairi Delight. She was a member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church and was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Surviving are a daughter, Barbara H. Gregory and husband Gene, with whom Mrs. Harris made her home for eight years; two sons, Henry "Grady" Harris and wife Donna of Spartanburg and Stan Harris and friend Cindy Henderson of Union; a daughter-in-law, Marie Harris of Union; ten grandchildren including Randy Harris, reared in the home, and wife Nelda of Union, eight great-grandchildren and numerous great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Mrs. Harris was predeceased by a son, "Donald" Fred Harris. Funeral services will be held 3:30 PM Friday, December 18, 2015 at Bethlehem United Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Glenn Ribelin and Rev. Carl Harris. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Mike Scales, Stan Gallman, Everett Leigh, Daniel Weil, Richie Harris and Freddie Harris. The following are asked to serve as the honorary escort, Barbara Rippey, Bonita Alexander, Corrine Sims, Dr. David Keith, Roger Harris, Billy and Barbara Medford, Melissa Briggs, Beth Bishop, Susan Jackson, employees of Gene's Fine Food and members of Bethlehem United Methodist Church. Visitation will be from 2:00 until 3:30 PM Friday at the church prior to the services. Memorials may be made to Bethlehem United Methodist Church, 1622 Kelly Rd., Union, SC 29379. The family is at the home of her daughter, Barbara and Gene Gregory, 707 East Main St., Union.
