Anne Lawson Patrick, 88, passed away peacefully on April 11, 2025, after an extended illness. A lifelong resident of Union, South Carolina, Anne was known for her deep love of family, unwavering faith, and generous heart. She was the daughter of the late James Vernon and Sarah Vaughan Lawson, and was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Carl Patrick. She was also predeceased by two sisters, Elizabeth Ridgeway and Sarah Childers; and four brothers, James (Pete) Lawson, Jr., William (Cotton) Lawson, Lloyd Lawson, and Fred Lawson. Surviving siblings include Jean Harvey (Ken), Patricia Vanderford, Joe Lawson (Susan), Donald Lawson, and Reverend Bob Lawson (Ruth). Anne leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion through her family: her three children—Bob Patrick (Joy), David Patrick (Debra), and Lisa Britt (Bobby); six grandchildren—Ashley Brown (Wesley), Maegan Cordell (Zane), Adam Patrick (Samantha), Tanner Britt (Tatum), Haley Vassey (Wes), and Connor Britt (Allie); and three great-grandchildren—Kyle and Charlie Kate Cordell, and Blakely Brown. Anne was also survived by two very special people who held a dear place in her heart: Diane Roark and Fredrick Tucker. She was an active and faithful member of Philippi Baptist Church, where she spent many years in fellowship and service. She also dedicated much of her adult life to the Benevolent Patriotic Order of the Does, where she formed lifelong friendships and found purpose in giving back to her community. Anne was elected and served as Supreme President of the BPO Does in 1992-1993, being the first from South Carolina to hold this office. Also a passionate genealogist, Anne loved researching family history and preserving the stories of those who came before her. To her family, Anne was the heart of every gathering—a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She was especially known for her love of baking, always finding joy in sharing something homemade with family and friends.
