Mrs. Annette Kimbrell Walker, age 81, wife of Calvin Walker of 204 Mt. Vernon Rd., Union, passed away, Monday, August 10, 2026, at her home.
Mrs. Walker was born January 12, 1945, in Chesnee, a daughter of the late I.B. Kimbrell and Elizabeth Giles Kimbrell. She was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church for 55 years.
In 1969, Mrs. Walker and her husband began a journey that would span more than five decades as owners and operators of the Bantam Chef of Union. Through the years, she became a familiar face to generations of customers and took great pride in the business she and her husband built together. A hardworking woman throughout her life, Mrs. Walker was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who cared deeply for her family.
Surviving in addition to her husband of 64 years are two daughters, Beth W. Lancaster and husband Michael and Michelle W. Kelley and husband Paul all of Union; two sisters, Barbara Clemons of Chesnee and Rita Gregory and husband Max of Duncan; and three grandsons, Grayson Lancaster and wife Elizabeth; Cal Kelley and Luke Kelley. She was predeceased by one brother Jimmy Kimbrell.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, August 14, 2026, at Tabernacle Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Jerry White. Burial will follow at Union Memorial Gardens.
Active pallbearers will be Grayson Lancaster, Luke Kelley, Cal Kelley, Scott Gregory, Robbie Robbins, and Phoenix Walker. Past and present Bantam Chef employees are asked to sit in a group and form the honorary escort.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Thursday evening at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home.
