Annie Mae Mcgowan

Mrs. Annie Mae Vaughan McGowan, age 84, of 409 N. 1st St., Lockhart, widow of James Bobby McGowan, passed away Friday February 17, 2017 at the Union Medical Center. Mrs. McGowan was born in Union Co., September 16, 1932, a daughter of the late C.C. and Ella Mae Smith Vaughan. She was retired from United Merchants, Union Plant. Surviving are a daughter, Becky Garner and husband Scott of the home; four sons, Tommy McGowan, Sr, James "Jimbo" McGowan and wife Jackie, Roy "Bean" Youngblood and Mike McGowan and wife Pattie all of Union; eleven grandchildren: Ellis W. Lancaster, Mandy Campbell and husband David, Jalyn Boone, Tommy "Doc" McGowan, Jr., Crissy Morris and husband Mitchell of Virginia, Chris McGowan and wife Brandy, Crystal Fowler and husband Timmy, Donna Greene, Brian Youngblood, Josh Moore and Alan Vurrell both of Spartanburg; 17 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Mrs. McGowan is also survived by two sisters, Nell Malpass and Ann Grady and husband Billy; one brother, John Henry Vaughan all of Union, and a special nephew, Randy Gault and wife Barbara also of Union. Mrs. McGowan was predeceased by a sister, Frances Williams and a brother, Bobby Vaughan. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 PM Monday, February 20, 2017 at Rosemont Cemetery conducted by Rev. Mike McGowan and Rev. Robert Jarvis. Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Sunday evening at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home. The family will be at the home, 409 N. 1st St., Lockhart.
