Arville Ray Medford

April 10, 2017 Mr. Arville Ray Medford, age 89, husband of Valeria Webber Medford of 276 Vernon Foster Rd., Union, passed away Monday, April 10, 2017 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Mr. Medford was born in Clyde, NC, March 7, 1928 a son of the late M.L. and Lula Jane Green Medford. He retired from Milliken and Co., Monarch Plant and was a member of Sardis United Methodist Church. Mr. Medford was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Surviving in addition to his wife are a daughter, Rebecca Anthony and husband Carlie of Union; a son, Rev. Ray Medford and wife Joan of Simpsonville; three step-daughters, Jerri Keith Sailors and husband Caroll, Brenda Keith, and Linda Keith Carter and husband "Coot" all of Union; a step-son, David Joe Keith of Union; eleven grandchildren: Mindy Anthony, Allison Medford Bagwell and husband Tommy, Rev. Eric R. Medford and wife Jessica, Randy Perry, Ronnie Perry, Ann Murphy, Paula Gibson, Paul Morris and wife Mary, Kinsleigh Alman and husband Shane, Shane Keith, and Maria Keith; and numerous great-grandchildren including, Eli Thomas Bagwell, Bleeze Matthew Bagwell, Suri Bagwell, Makenzie Medford, and Tanner Medford. Mr. Medford was predeceased by a grandson, Carlie Anthony, Jr. and a step-son, Michael Perry. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at Sardis United Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Jeff Farmer, Rev. Angelia Price and Rev. Eric R. Medford. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Kent Foster, Shane Alman, Kenny Lawson, Ronnie Perry, Randy Perry and Paul Morris. Mr. Donald Foster and Mr. Ernie Bennefield are asked to serve as the honorary escort. Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Tuesday evening at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sardis United Methodist Church, Air Conditioning Fund, 964 Sardis Rd., Union, SC 29379. The family will be at the home, 276 Vernon Foster Rd., Union.
