Barbara Lashley Bell

Mrs. Barbara Lashley Bell, age 81, wife of Thomas Vance Bell of 344 River Rock Run, Union, passed away Thursday, December 15, 2016 at Spartanburg Medical Center. Mrs. Bell was born in Greensboro, NC May 5, 1935, a daughter of the late Eddie Garrett Lashley and Edna Sawyer Lashley. She was co-owner of The Totem Pole and was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church. Mrs. Bell was also a member of the NRA, NWTF and Women's Outdoors. She loved to hunt, her dog C.J., hummingbirds and her flowers. Surviving in addition to her husband are two daughters: Vicki Lynn Bilka and husband Larry Bilka, Jr of Prosperity and Christi Leigh Bell of Union; a son, Thomas Vance Bell, III of Union; three grandchildren: Richard "Tripp" Owen, III of Spartanburg, Dale Knight of Union and Lisa Nicole Bell of Columbia; a great-grandson, Drue Owen of Summerville; a sister, Madeline Rhind and a brother, Eddie Garrett Lashley, Jr. both of Greensboro, NC. Mrs. Bell was predeceased by a brother, Donald Lashley. Memorial services will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, December 18, 2016 at SR Holcombe Funeral Chapel conducted by Deacon William Bower. Visitation will be held 1:00-2:00 PM Sunday in the chapel prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to ST. Jude's Children Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1905. The family will be at the home, 344 River Rock Run, Union, SC 29379.
