Barbara Dabbs Vanderford

Mrs. Barbara Dabbs Vanderford, age 79, of 4226 Jonesville-Lockhart Hwy., widow of Charles Vanderford, Sr. passed away Tuesday, June 23, 2015 at her home after a period of declining health. Mrs. Vanderford was born in Lockhart, August 7, 1935, a daughter of the late Hazel Dabbs and Addie Manis Dabbs Burgess. She was a graduate of Lockhart High School and retired from Conso Products. Mrs. Vanderford was also employed with Medical Regional in Chester and was a member of Lockhart Free Will Baptist Church. Surviving are a daughter, Melinda Welch of the home; a son, Charles Vanderford, Jr. and wife Susan of Buffalo; a sister-in-law, Barbara Dabbs of Summerville; four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Vanderford was predeceased by a daughter, Belinda Lou Vanderford and a brother, Harold Dabbs. Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Thursday, June 25, 2015 at Lockhart Free Will Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Brian Bishop and Rev. Carrol Caldwell. Burial will be at Lockhart Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:45 until 2:45 PM Thursday at the church prior to the services. Active pallbearers will be Steve Gibson, Wayne Porter, Mike Parris, Logan Vanderford, Jason Carlisle, Roger Vanderford. Memorials may be made to Blue Ridge Hospice, 103 S. Boyce St., Union, SC 29379. The family will be at the home 4226 Jonesville-Lockhart Hwy., Union.
