Barth Scott “Trick” Willard

September 26, 2015 Mr. Barth Scott "Trick" Willard, age 80, husband of Martha Ann Gregory Willard of 215 Wilbur Street, Union, went home to be with the Lord Friday, September 25, 2015 at Greenville Memorial Hospital. Mr. Willard was born in Union, SC May 18, 1935, a son of the late Joe Barth Willard and Maggie Scott Willard. He was retired from the City of Union following forty years of service. Mr. Willard was a member of Ottaray Baptist Church where he was a former Deacon and had also served as a former Deacon with Westside Baptist Church. Mr. Willard had served in the S.C. National Guard. Surviving in addition to his wife of sixty years are two sons: Scott Willard and wife Teresa of Chester and Steve Willard and wife Laura of Union; three sisters: Hazel Nance of Union, Frances Mitchell and Dolly Pittman and husband Jim all of Buffalo; a brother, Wayne Willard and wife Jenny of Union; two sisters-in-law: Dot Willard of Spartanburg and Ginger Wix and husband Joe of Jonesville; three granddaughters: Melia Willard of Chester, Meghan Willard and Annie Willard both of Union and a special granddaughter, Morgan Clayton of Union. Mr. Willard was predeceased by brothers: Joe Thomas Willard, Clarence Willard, Dean Willard, Ned Willard and William Willard. Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Monday, September 28, 2015 at Ottaray Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Walter Holcombe and Rev. Ralph Brown. Burial will be in Union Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Scott Willard, Steve Willard, Melia Willard, Meghan Willard and Annie Willard. Mr. Willard's nephews and the SC Highway Patrol are asked to serve as Honorary Pallbearers. Visitation will be held 1:30-2:45 PM Monday in the church prior to the service. Memorials may be made to Ottaray Baptist Church, P.O. Box 70, Union, SC 29379 or to Meals on Wheels, P.O. Box 951, Union, SC 29379. The family will be at the home of his son, Steve and Laura Willard, 202 Glendale Rd., Union.
