Bernice Louise (Knight) Heatherly

Mrs. Bernice Louise Knight Heatherly, age 93, wife of Herbert Heatherly, of 133 Hully Bridge Rd., Jonesville, passed away, Tuesday, September 14, 2021, at Heartland of Union.

Mrs. Heatherly was born August 25, 1928, in Sevierville, TN, a daughter of the late Walter Knight and Viola Barnes Knight.  She was a graduate of Union High School and retired after many years from United Merchants Buffalo Plant.  Mrs. Heatherly was a very active member of West Springs Baptist Church as long as her health permitted.  She worked with the Children's Ministries, Training Union Teacher, and Missions Organization Leader.  Mrs. Heatherly and her husband enjoyed providing transportation for many children to get to church.  Although she and her husband did not have any children of their own, she was a mother and grandmother figure to her many nieces and nephews.

Surviving in addition to her husband of 73 years are two brothers, David "Bud" Knight of Union and Walter "Dock" Knight and wife Emily of Hillsboro, NC; a sister-in-law, Aileen Quinn of Jonesville; a brother-in-law, Broadus Heatherly of Shelby, NC; and many nieces and nephews.

Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, September 16, 2021, at West Springs Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Greg Black and Rev. Dr. Henry Johnson.

Visitation will be immediately following the services at the cemetery.

The family would like to thank Larry and Joan Quinn, Billy and Carolyn Beheler, Willis Hembree, Ed Heatherly, the Nurses and Staff of Heartland Hospice and Spartanburg Regional Medical Center for their love and care of Mrs. Heatherly during her illness.

The family is at their respective homes.
