May 21, 2016 Mrs. Bernice Gault Lawson, age 100, widow of James B. Lawson, went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, May 21, 2016 at Ellen Sagar Nursing Home. She was lovingly known as "BeBe" or "Aunt Bunt" to her family and friends. Mrs. Lawson was born in the Kelton Community of Union, SC August 20, 1915, a daughter of the late Douglas Lester Gault and Alma Gault Gault. She was a graduate of Kelly Pinckney School and retired as secretary from Lawson's Garage. Mrs. Lawson was a loyal, active and faithful member of Buffalo Baptist Church. She was a member of the WMU and also a member of the Ruth Lawson's Sunday School Class as long as her health permitted. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Surviving are nieces and nephews: Keith Gault and wife Nadie of Union, Delores Wade and companion Steve Bogan of Jonesville, Freddie Gault and wife Melodi, Joyce Patrick, Faye Webber and husband Jack, Ann Farr, Donald Farr and wife Shirley, Willard Farr and wife Robin and Charles Farr and wife Deloris all of Union; a number of great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews and a sister-in-law, Dot Gault of Union. Mrs. Lawson was predeceased by a sister, Lennah G. Farr, her twin brother Ben Gault, twin brothers John Fred "Shorty" Gault, George Ned Gault, Bill Gault and Broadus Gault. Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Monday, May 23, 2016 at SR Holcombe Funeral Chapel conducted by Rev. Wayne Cooke. Burial will be in Union Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Lawson's nephews will serve as active pallbearers. The following are asked to sit in a group: members of Ruth Lawson's Sunday School Class of Buffalo Baptist Church, the staff of Ellen Sagar Nursing Home, the staff of Hospice Care of S.C., her caregivers, Gwen Ivey, Jamie Duncan and Dot Clary. The family would like to say a special "Thank You" to everyone for their love and care of Mrs. Lawson. Visitation will be held 2:00-3:00 PM Monday in the chapel prior to the service. Memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice. The family will be at the home of her nephew, Freddie and Melodi Gault, 403 Glendale Road, Union, SC 29379..
