December 15, 2019 Mrs. Bessie Jennings Duncan, age 82, wife of Raymond Duncan, Sr, of 511 Lakeview Heights, Union, went home to be with the Lord Saturday, December 14, 2019 at her home. Mrs. Duncan was born in Union, SC April 23, 1937, a daughter of the late Herman Jennings and Clara Prince Jennings. She was a member of Fairview Baptist Church where she was a member of the Ladies Sunday School Class. Mrs. Duncan had been very active in the work and building of Ottaray Baptist Church. She was a homemaker and was a devoted Christian, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Surviving in addition to her husband of sixty-four years are two daughters: Tammy Knox and husband Gettys of Spartanburg and Beth Hawkins and husband Jimmy of Union; a son, Raymond Edward Duncan, Jr and wife Rhonda of Union; a brother, Billy Jennings of Pauline; six grandchildren: Tripp Duncan and wife Mica of West Springs, Brandy Duncan of Laurens, Nikki Knox of Advance, NC, Heather Franklin and husband Rev. Lee Franklin of Pacolet, Kacie Gillespie and husband Michael of Wilmington, NC and Colby Hawkins and wife Ashley of Spartanburg and twelve great-grandchildren. Mrs. Duncan was predeceased by four sisters and five brothers. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Monday, December 16, 2019 at Ottaray Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Lee Franklin and Rev. Dr. Ron Culberson. Burial will be in Union Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Tripp Duncan, Tanner Duncan, Colby Hawkins, Michael Gillespie and Rev. Lee Franklin. Nurses and staff of Heartland Hospice and the home caregivers are asked to sit in a group. Visitation will be held 1:00-2:00 PM Monday in the church prior to the service. The family would like to say a special "Thank You" to the caregivers of Heartland Hospice and the home caregivers for their love and care of Mrs. Duncan. The family will be at the home, 511 Lakeview Heights, Union.
