Mrs. Betsy Long McCall, age 86, wife of William Harvey "Bill" McCall of 152 Springdale Drive, Union, passed away Sunday, February 1, 2015 at Heartland of Union. Mrs. McCall was born in Jonesville, SC on October 11, 1928 a daughter of the late Jimmy Long and Kate Alman Long. She was a graduate of Jonesville High School. Mrs. McCall was a member of Grace United Methodist Church. She had retired from Alman Insurance Agency where she worked for many years. Mrs. McCall later worked alongside her husband for 22 years at McCall's Frame Shop. Betsy and Bill loved to travel and had the pleasure to travel to Ireland, Central America, and the Western United States especially Nevada together. Surviving in addition to her husband are a sister, Jane Long Jones and husband William of Clinton, SC; a niece and a nephew and several great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, William Long and wife Frances and one niece and two nephews. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, February 5, 2015 at Grace United Methodist Church conducted by the Rev. David Bauknight. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Pete Berry, Tommy Sherbert, Tommy Sinclair, Rick Matthews, Dr. Bill Webber, Charles Whitaker, and Freddie Gault. The following are asked to form the honorary escort, John Heath, John Flynn, Jack Rash, and Winston Quinn. Visitation will be held in the Sanctuary Parlor of Grace United Methodist Church prior to the services from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM. Memorials may be made to Grace United Methodist Church, 201 South Church Street, Union, SC 29379. The family is at the home, 152 Springdale Dr., Union, SC 29379.
