Betty Jean Barnett Cheraw, Sc

Mrs. Betty Jean Barnett, age 81 widow of George David Barnett formerly of Union pass away Friday, October 17, 2014. Mrs. Barnett was born in Union, November 13, 1932, a daughter of the late Clyde and Ada Bryant Longshore. She was a member of Mon Aetna Baptist Church and retired from Union County School System where she worked as a teacher assistant for over 20 years with Buffalo Elementary School. Surviving are a daughter, Georgia Lynn Wirth and husband Jim of Waterman, Illinois; two sons Kenneth Michael Barnett and wife Anne of Greenwood and Timothy David Barnett and fiancée, Ann Lawson of Simpsonville; grandchildren, Zachary Barnett, Adam Wirth, Logan Barnett and Julie Barnett; one sister, Irene Beard of Greenville. Funeral Services will be held 3:00 PM Tuesday, October 21, 2014 at the S.R. Holcombe Chapel Funeral conducted by the Rev. Jimmy Tucker. Burial will be at Union Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 2:00 until 3:00 PM prior to the service at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Chapel. Memorial may be made to Mon Aetna Baptist Church, 1431 Lockhart Hwy., Union, SC 29379. The family will be at their respective homes.
