Betty Smoot Barron Austell, Ga

Mrs. Betty Smoot Barron, age 81, of Austell, GA, widow of Rev. Robert G. Barron, passed away Thursday, May 15, 2014 at Wellstar-Cobb Hospital. Mrs. Barron was born on April 25, 1933 in Atlanta, Georgia a daughter of the late Alonzo Bell Smoot and Willis White Smoot. She was a former resident of the Kirkwood Section of Atlanta. Mrs. Barron was a graduate of Atlanta Business College. She was a faithful Pastor's wife and served alongside her husband in his ministry as a Presbyterian Pastor and particularly enjoyed children's ministry. Mrs. Barron was a member of Shallowford Presbyterian Church and as long as her health permitted she was a member of the Presbyterian Women. Surviving are a sister, Lillian Smoot of Decatur, GA. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, May 23, 2014 at Oak Mountain Presbyterian Church, 402 Oak Mountain Road, Carrollton, GA, 30116, conducted by the Rev. Debbie Wells. Graveside services will be held at 12:00 Noon, Saturday, May 24, 2014 at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Union, SC. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
