June 24, 2018 Mrs. Betty Mosley Becknell, age 82, wife of Arthur Thomas Becknell of 253 Webber Lake Rd., Union, passed away Saturday, June 23, 2018 at her home. Mrs. Becknell was born in Union, January 16, 1936, a daughter of the late Coley Livingston Mosley and Tabitha Hipps Mosley. She was a graduate of Union High School and was retired from Wal Mart of Union. Mrs. Becknell previously worked for Conso Products and Milliken, Monarch Mill. She was an active member of the Union Church of God where she had been a choir member and had taught Sunday School for children and adults. Surviving in addition to her husband are a daughter, Debra B. Hawkins and husband Donald of Union; a son, Kenneth Becknell of the home; a sister, Hazel M. Swanson of Union; a brother, Larry Joe Mosley of Boiling Springs; one granddaughter, Krystal R. Rhinehart of Clinton; two great-grandchildren, Dezmond Rhinehart and Lyric Rhinehart and a number of nieces and nephews. Mrs. Becknell was predeceased by two brothers, Coley Mosley, Jr. and James "Buddy" Mosley. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at the Union Church of God conducted by Rev. Stewart Anderson and Rev. Alton Stone. Burial will be at Lower Fairforest Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:00 until 11:00 AM Wednesday at the church prior to the services. Memorials may be made to the Union Church of God, 1113 Thompson Blvd., Union, SC 29379. The family will be at the home, 253 Webber Lake Rd., Union.
