Betty (Morris) Burns

Mrs. Betty Morris Burns, widow of Glenn Burns, of Pea Ridge passed away Wednesday, December 18, 2024 at the home of her son, Kent Burns.

Mrs. Burns was born in Union, SC, December 5, 1938, a daughter of the late Preston Morris and Irene Fowler Morris. She was a graduate of Jonesville High School. Mrs. Burns was a member of Mt. Joy Baptist Church, where she had been a member of the choir. She loved gardening, baking and was a dedicated homemaker.

Mrs. Burns is survived by her son, Kent Burns, and his wife, Wendy. Her surviving grandchildren are Alex Burns, Luke Burns and Leah Burns. Mrs. Burns was predeceased by a sister, Peggy Wilkins, a brother, Robert Gibson, and a niece, Joanne Whelchel.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM, Saturday, December 21, 2024 at Mt. Joy Baptist Church, conducted by Rev. Brad Goodale. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM prior to the services at the church. Interment will follow the funeral services in the Mt. Joy Baptist Church Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Randy Manus, Wesley Manus, Brad Whelchel, Steven Sealy, Alex Burns, and Luke Burns.

In lieu of flowers, please make memorials to Mt. Joy Baptist Church, 657 Pea Ridge Hwy., Jonesville, SC 29353.

The family would like to issue a special thanks to caregivers Patsy Shetley, Alice Sanders, Shannon Case and Agape Hospice staff, Ann Martin and Jamie Duncan.

The family is at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Kent and Wendy Burns, 601 Rogerstown Road, Jonesville, SC.
