Betty Ruth Gibson Horton

April 3, 2015 Mrs. Betty Ruth Gibson Horton, age 82, of Lockhart, widow of John Osborne "Junior" Horton, passed away Friday, April 3, 2015 at her home. Mrs. Horton was born in Lockhart, SC on March 1, 1933 a daughter of the late Roy Gibson and Elizabeth Gregory Gibson. She was formerly employed with Lockhart Mill. Surviving are three daughters, Diane Horton, Debbie Allen and husband Kevin, and Tammy Horton all of Lockhart; two sons, Roger Horton and wife Suzanne and Dennis Horton all of Lockhart; two sisters, Azilee Ashe of Lockhart and Doris Inman of York; two brothers, Donald Gibson of Lockhart and Marvin Gibson of Sharon; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Mrs. Horton was predeceased by two sisters and four brothers. Graveside services will be held 3:00 PM Monday, April 6, 2015 at Lockhart Cemetery conducted by the Rev. Bill Sumner. Visitation will be from 1:30 until 2:30 Monday prior to the graveside at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Chapel. The family is at the home of her daughter Debbie and Kevin Allen, 195 Armory Rd., Union, SC 29379.
