Mrs. Betty Joan Martin, age 76, wife of A.C. Martin of 104 W. South St., Union, passed away Wednesday, November 25, 2020, at her home.

Mrs. Martin was born in Chicago, IL, January 22, 1944, a daughter of the late Ralph and Mary Leona Eldridge House. She attended Ohlone College in Freemont, CA where she became a paralegal specializing in taxes. Later she worked for Bell Systems in engineering.  She joined her husband in 1981 as business manager in his business Martin House Enterprises in Union.

Mrs. Martin was a member of the Martha Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star and a member of the Telephone Pioneers, which helped children with disabilities. She was also a member of the 4-H Club and Future Farmers of America. She and her husband were volunteers with the YMCA and Habitat for Humanity in Union Co.

Betty was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grand-mother, and sister. She loved taking care of her family, especially cooking and doing for others in need.

Surviving in addition to her husband are three daughters, Melanie Fountain, Joan Hernandez and husband Bryan and Chloie Martin; three sons, Jeffrey Martin and wife Crystal, Terry Gray and wife Becky and Matthew Martin and wife Samantha; two sisters, Jane Miller and Carol Kidd and a brother, Torin House. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, Amber, Siobhan, Robert, Robin, Mark, Teddy, Gabby, Zach and Taylor, and twelve great-grandchildren, Haley, Erin, Justin, Jacob, Robbie, Owen, Quinn, Dexter, Aubree, Reagan, Ryleigh and Malik.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, December 5, 2020 at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Chapel. Burial will be at Grace United Methodist Church.

Active pallbearers will be Jeff Martin, Matthew Martin, Zach Martin, Terry Gray, Robert Leiske and Mark Leiske.

Visitation will be held Friday, December 4, 2020 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home.

The family will be at the home, 104 W. South St., Union.
