Betty Jean Mcgowan

June 6, 2016 Mrs. Betty Jean Wilson McGowan, age 74, of 3609 Lockhart Hwy., went home to be with the Lord, Sunday, June 5, 2016. Mrs. McGowan was born in Charlotte, NC, August 27, 1941, a daughter of the late James and Rose Ray Wilson. She was a retired business owner and a loving sister, mother, grandmother and friend. Surviving are a daughter, Rhonda M. Gregory and husband Jimmy with whom she made her home; a son Jason McGowan all of Union; two sisters, Rose Marie Reid of Moore and Annette Upton of Spartanburg; a brother, Sandy Wilson of Union; grandchildren: Tyler Gregory, Colby Gregory, Brett Gregory, Owen Gregory, Alexis McGowan, Jazmine Nohl, Brittany McGowan, and Leann McGowan; longtime friends, JoAnn Bobo and Norman Elmer both of Union. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at Brown's Creek Baptist Church conducted by Rev. John Lee. Visitation will be held from 7:00 until 9:00 PM Tuesday evening at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home. Memorial may be made to Brown's Creek Baptist Church, Family Life Center, 118 Brown's Creek Church Rd., Union, SC 29379. The family will be at the home of her daughter, Rhonda and Jimmy Gregory, 3609 Lockhart Hwy., Union.
