Betty Ross Pope Jolly

May 10, 2015 Betty Ross Pope Jolly, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend joined her Lord and Savior on Saturday May 9, 2015. Betty was born on August 6, 1925 in Union, SC to Dr. Robert Ross Pope and Mary Sellers Pope. She graduated from Union High School in 1942 and from Furman University in 1945. She was married in 1948 to the late Mike Spears Jolly of Union. She was a devoted member of Grace United Methodist Church. Betty is survived by her children: Michael Spears Jolly, Jr., wife Helen Free Jolly, grandson Michael Spears Jolly, III, and granddaughter Haley Anna Jolly of Jonesville, SC; Robert Ross Jolly and wife Judy Martin Jolly of Columbia, SC; and Lynn Jolly Sewell of Charlotte, NC, grandson Travis Stanley Sewell and wife Trish de Golian Sewell of Atlanta, GA and granddaughters Carly Pope Sewell and Emily Ross Sewell of Charlotte, NC. Betty is predeceased by husband Mike S. Jolly, son-in-law Carl Stanley (Stan) Sewell, and a sister Helen Pope Roper. A memorial service will be held at Grace Methodist Church cemetery on Tuesday, May 19th at 1:00 pm with Reverend David Bauknight officiating. A reception will follow immediately in the Fellowship Hall. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Grace Methodist Church, 201 S.
