Betty Jean Whitaker Crumley, age 84 passed away Thursday, November 13, 2014 at Ellen Sagar Nursing Home. Ms. Crumley was born in Wattsville, SC September 24, 1930, a daughter of the late Walter David Whitaker and Ruth Lovelace Whitaker. She was a retired textile worker and was a member of the Church of God. Surviving are two daughters, Jean Hancock of Georgia and another daughter in Florida; two nieces: Judy Yount and husband Ronnie and Robin Cremeans and husband John all of Union; two grandsons: David Hancock and Justin Hancock and a special friend and caregiver, Dot Smith. Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, November 16, 2014 at SR Holcombe Funeral Chapel conducted by Rev. Scott Cobb and Rev. Alton Stone. Burial will be in Union Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held 1:45-2:45 PM Sunday in the chapel prior to the service. The family will be at their respective homes.
