Mrs. Betty Medford Whitmore, age 85, widow of Lloyd Whitmore of 127 Medford Loop, Buffalo, passed away Thursday, August 13, 2015 at her home. Mrs. Whitmore was born in Union, SC February 11, 1930, a daughter of the late Alvin R. Medford and Lady Lee Reaves Medford. She was a 1947 graduate of Union High School and retired from United Merchants-Buffalo and Union Plant after forty-eight years of service. Mrs. Whitmore was a lifelong member of Buffalo United Methodist Church where she had served as a Sunday School Teacher for the children, Vacation Bible School worker and a member of Rosa Roundtree Sunday School Class. Surviving are two daughters: Dee Ann Boulware and Renae Whitmore; a son, Lee Whitmore all of Buffalo; a brother, Billy Medford of West Virginia; four grandchildren: Blake Boulware, Zavier Whitmore, Jake McNeace and Leah Whitmore; a great-grandson, Cameron Boulware and a number of nieces and nephews. Mrs Whitmore was predeceased by a sister, Peggy M. Walker and a brother, Tony R. Medford. Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, August 16, 2015 at Buffalo United Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Ron Towery. Burial will be in Union Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Cody Harris, Dylan Rogers, Chip Chambers, Joey McNeace, Dylan Millwood and David Crisp. Visitation will be held 1:30-3:00 PM Sunday in the church parlor prior to the service. Memorials may be made to Buffalo United Methodist Church Air Conditioning Fund, P.O.
