Betty S. Wilburn

Mrs. Betty Sanders Wilburn, age 85, of 1007 Sardis Rd. passed away Sunday, October 6, 2019, at her home. Mrs. Wilburn was born in Union, December 9, 1933, a daughter of the late Ernest Sanders and Pansy Knox Sanders. She was a faithful member of Sardis United Methodist Church for 66 years and was active as long as her health permitted. The church honored her for 50 years of loyal service in 2003. Ms. Wilburn was retired from Milken in 2002 after 25 years. Surviving are two daughters, Susan Kerr and husband Eric, and Bonnie Brown and husband Benny all of Union; a sister, Myrtle Williams of Concord, N.C.; two brothers, J.B. Sanders and wife Ann of Union, and Carol Sanders and wife Beth of Prosperity; three grandchildren, Kristie Glaser and husband Richard, Kayla Wix, and Ashley Wells and husband Paul; one great grandson, Jacob Wells and one great granddaughter, Aeris Loving; and numerous nieces and nephews and a special niece, Casey Arthur. Ms. Wilburn was predeceased by a sister, Margaret Kerr; and nieces Kathy Garner and Merrie Robin Bailey; and nephews, Keith Kerr and Earl Williams. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, October 9, 2019 at Sardis United Methodist Church conducted by the Rev. Jeff Farmer and Rev. Angelia Price. Burial will in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Tuesday evening at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home. Active pallbearers will be Jacob Robinson, Larry Yarborough, Roger Bailey, Anthony Duckett, Donald Wells and Jake Wilburn. Honorary pallbearers will be Buford Brown, Dudley Adams, Michael Knighten, Donald Ray Sanders, Terry Humphries and special friends, Gussy Thompson, Vandora Fleming, Hazel and Dudley Adams. The family wishes to express a special "Thank You" the staff and nurses of Cresent Hospice for their care of Mrs. Wilburn during her illness. Memorials may be made to Sardis United Methodist Church, 964 Sardis Rd., Union, SC, 29379. The family will be at the home.
