Obituary

Beverly Jolly Funderburk, 76, of Union, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on November 2, 2026 at Lexington Health surrounded by family. She was born October 1, 1950, in Union, South Carolina.

Beverly was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose love for her family was at the center of her life. She especially adored her grandchildren, Sydney Grace and Caleb Alexander, who brought her immeasurable joy and held a very special place in her heart.

Beverly had a gift for making people feel loved, and one of the ways she shared that love was through her kitchen. She spent much of her life cooking and feeding those around her. Her famous pound cakes were loved by family and friends alike, and she took great pleasure in making them for the people she loved.

Her faith was a cornerstone of her life. A devoted and faithful member of Philippi Baptist Church and could be found there every time the doors were open. Whether it was for church service, volunteering with Grief Share or preparing meals for the church. Her relationship with God and her church family were deeply important to her, and she remained active in her church until declining health no longer allowed her to attend.

Those who knew Beverly knew she had a personality all on her own. She was fiercely independent, strong-willed, outspoken, and stubborn in the best sense of the word. She had plenty of sass and was never one to shy away from speaking her mind. She remained true to herself until the very end, leaving behind countless memories, laughter, and stories that her family will cherish forever.

Beverly is survived by her daughter Brandy Drinkard, son-in-law Mike Drinkard; her beloved grandchildren, Sydney Grace Jones (Peyton Marsh) and Caleb Alexander Jones (Karrie Teeter); her sister Wanda Wells (Howard); her brother, William Jolly; her niece, Laura Jolly; her nephews Coleman Ferrell (Ashley), David Horlacher, and Will Horlacher (Emily) and her great nephews, Ben and Wes, whom she adored.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the CCU team and Dr. Rebecca Burnside at Lexington Health for the exceptional care, kindness, and compassion they showed Beverly and her family. Their dedication and support during this difficult time meant more than words can express, and the family will always be grateful.

Beverly’s love will live on through the family she cherished, the faith she held close, the meals she lovingly prepared, the pound cakes that brought everyone together, and the countless memories that will forever bring smiles to the faces of those who knew and loved her.

She will be deeply missed, forever loved and never forgotten.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, November 4, 2026 at Philippi Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Robert Scott. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be held Wednesday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM at the church prior to the services.
