Bevia (Patterson) Lipsey

Mrs. Bevia Patterson Lipsey, age 86, of 308 Fairview St., Jonesville, widow of William "Boodle" Lipsey, took her Heavenly flight, Friday, September 27, 2024 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Lipsey was born February 14, 1938 in Union, a daughter of the late Jack Patterson and Winnie Millwood Patterson.  She retired at the age of 83 as the Town of Jonesville Clerk of Court and had previously retired from Ace Sweater.  Mrs. Lipsey was a member of Jonesville Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Happy Hearts.  She had a love of motorcycles and was able to take her last ride on one at the age of 83, thanks to her nephew, Wes Lawson.

Surviving are two daughters, Lisa Lipsey Garner of Pea Ridge and Tracie Lipsey Kirby of Jonesville; a sister and brother-in-law, Elaine and Bobby Lawson of Pacolet; three grandchildren, Jennifer Jones and husband Jason, Matthew Duckett and wife Kristin. And Savannah Heatherly and husband Jeffery; seven great grandchildren, Jake, R.J., Alex, Will, Ryleigh, Aubrie and Casen; and her adopted family, Patti Inman and husband Dale, Connie Millwood, and special friend, Robert Sill.  She was predeceased by a son, William Danny Lipsey; a daughter, Tammy Lipsey; two brothers, Cecil Patterson and wife Hazel and Charles Patterson and wife Shirley; and a sister, Julia Harold.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, October 3, 2024 at the Lipsey Family Cemetery at Gilead Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Scott Cannon. The family will receive friends Thursday at Holcombe's Jonesville Chapel immediately following the services.

The family is at the home of her daughter, Lisa Garner, 1015 Jonesville Lockhart Highway, Union.
