Mrs. Billie Ann King, age 78, of 709 Rice Avenue Ext., Union, widow of Rev. Donald Curtis King passed away, Monday, April 6, 2020 at Heartland of Union. Mrs. King was born August 28, 1941 in Inman, a daughter of the late Claude Oliver Morgan and Norine Hancock Morgan. She was a graduate of Lower Richland High School where she played basketball and was a member of the chorus. Mrs. King had won a state championship for her vocals while in high School. She had previously worked at Bi-Lo and Sears. Surviving are two daughters, Laurie K. Haney and husband Eric of Pauline and Patti K. Combs of Huntersville, NC; a sister, Terry Lowe of Bishopville; seven grandchildren, Nikki Burgess, Devin DeHart,, Bryce DeHart, Alexis Pretzer, Dillon DeHart, Kanyon Combs, and Kyla Combs; and six great-grandchildren, Morgan Chesnut, Haleigh Burgess, Peyton Burgess, Aiden Profera, Jase DeHart, and Noah Pretzer. She was predeceased by a daughter, Melanie K. Farr, a sister, Sam Flowers, and a son-in-law, John Combs. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM, Friday, April 10, 2020 at Whitmire Cemetery conducted by the Rev. Scott Cobb. The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff and nurses of Heartland who lovingly cared for Mrs. King during her illness.
