Billy Scott Mcabee

Mr. Billy Scott "Booky" McAbee, age 61, formerly of Union, passed away Tuesday, November 14, 2023 at Bon Secours-St. Francis Hospital in Charleston.

Mr. McAbee was born in Union, December 7, 1961, a son of the late Boyd E. and Magdalene Railey "Teenie" McAbee. He was a 1981 graduate of Union High School and was formerly employed with Milliken and Co., Monarch Plant. He was a member of Mon Aetna Baptist Church.

Scotty was living in the Charleston area to be near his brother and his family. He lived his life on his own terms which was always "full speed ahead". He loved all music and loved to sing, especially "Purple Rain".

He is survived by his brother, Michael "Moose" McAbee and wife Beth of Mt. Pleasant; two nieces, Taylor Picha and Lucy Busbin; three aunts, Pat McAbee, Jackie Greene and Brenda Railey, and a host of cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, November 17, 2023 at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home conducted by Rev. Scott Cobb. Burial will follow at Union Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held Friday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM at the chapel prior to the services.

Active pallbearers will be Johnny Rutledge, Terry "Red" Greene, Ronnie Greene, Rodney McAbee, Joey Gregory and Keith Baker.
