March 28, 2017 Mr. Billy Thompson, age 75, of 309 Ravenscroft St., Union, widower of Dorothy Frost "Dot" Thompson, passed away Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at Union Medical Center. Mr. Thompson was born in Pea Ridge, SC on May 4, 1941 a son of the late Jack Thompson and Annie Mae Horne Thompson. He was a graduate of Jonesville High School and Spartanburg Technical College. Mr. Thompson retired after 39 years from Cone Mill Carlisle Finishing Plant. He was a member of New Life Baptist Church where he had served as a Deacon. Mr. Thompson was a former member of the South Carolina National Guard and was a Mason. Surviving are three daughters, Karen T. Coker and husband Steve of Union, Pamela T. Williamson of Jacksonville, FL, and Dawn Michelle Thompson of the home; one brother, Paul Thompson of Jonesville; three grandchildren, Zachary Coker, Jonathen Williamson, and Kayla Dover; and one great-grandson, Cole Coker. He was predeceased by one son-in-law, Raymond Williamson and four siblings. Funeral services will be held 4:00 PM Thursday, March 30, 2017 at New Life Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Shannon Faulkner. Burial will follow in Union Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Zachary Coker, Jonathen Williamson, Roxy Dover, Gary Frost, Darrell Frost, and David Berry. Visitation will be held 6:00 until 8:00 PM Wednesday evening at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Susan G. Komen Foundation, Dept. 41831, PO Box 650309, Dallas, TX 75625.
