Mr. William Jack "Billy Jack" Wentz, age 59 of Graystone Rd. Jonesville went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, July 9, 2024.

Mr. Wentz was born in Union, September 20, 1964, a son of Dr. Robert M. Wentz of Union and the late Jacqueline Frances Wentz. He was a 1983 graduate of Union Academy and received a degree in Automotive Technology from York Technical College. He worked at Clinton Family Ford in Rock Hill as a Master Technician for 30 years. Mr. Wentz was a member of Mt. Joy Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and served on several committees within the church. He was a leader of the Youth Discipleship training class for many years. Billy Jack was also an avid hunter and fisherman.

Surviving in addition to his father are two daughter, Amber Manus and husband Wesley, and Candice Grady and husband Dusty all of Union; a son, William Jack Wentz, II and wife Rachael of Greenville; a sister, Susan Wentz of Union; and two brothers, Rev. Merritt Wentz and wife Lucy of Union and Patrick Lester Wentz and wife Beth of Jonesville. He is also survived by grandchildren, Kascie Manus, Brady Manus, William Henderson, Hagen Grady, Ruthie Grace Wentz and River Lane Wentz. He was predeceased by a sister, Cynthia Wentz.

The family wishes to say a special Thank You to the 911 operators, EMTs, Paramedics, Union Medical Center ER nurses and doctors, 3rd floor nurses and doctors and Spartanburg Regional Hospice for their care and compassion shown to Billy Jack and his family.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, July 12, 2024 at Duncan Acres United Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Merritt Wentz. Burial will follow at Union Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be held Friday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM at the church prior to the services.

Active pallbearers will be Brady Manus, Hagen Grady, Jon Thomas Wright, Russell Woodson, Mason Woodson and Spencer Woodson. Mr. Pat Blue is asked to serve as an honorary pallbearer.

The family will be at their respective homes.
