Blanche Vaughan Blackston, 84, beloved wife of Doug Blackston, passed away peacefully at her home in Union, South Carolina on Saturday, April 25, 2026, with her family by her side.

Born and raised in Lockhart, South Carolina, Blanche was the daughter of the late Harold Dean and Wynona Gault Belue. She retired from Milliken Textiles after many years of dedicated service and was a member of Mt. Tabor Presbyterian Church.

Blanche was a loving wife, mother, grandma, sister, aunt, neighbor, and friend. She was known for her kindness, her servant’s heart, and the care she showed to those around her. She found joy in spending time in her yard and garden, cooking meals that brought loved ones together, and sharing her many talents with friends and family. Her life reflected a deep faith and great love for her family and community.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Lisa Vaughan Raymond (Jim) and Troy Vaughan (Shelley); her stepson, Brian Blackston; two brothers, Drexel and Pete Belue; and her grandchildren, Hannah Raymond, Jantzen Raymond, Ryan Vaughan, and Alexis Vaughan.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Gene Vaughan, her sisters, Annie Belle Clayton and Delores Clayton, and her brother, Johnny Belue.

Her family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to those who cared for her so well, especially Sara Fowler, Letricia Beatty and Sue Jackson, and to the team at Gentiva Hospice for the compassion, kindness, and care shown to Blanche.

Graveside services will be held at Philippi Baptist Church at 4pm on Monday, April 27, 2026. The family will be at the Blackston home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Mt.
