Bobbie Floyd Caldwell, 86, of Ahoskie, NC, was welcomed home by her Heavenly Father in the early morning of November 16, 2018. Bobbie was a devout Christian and faithfully served her Lord and her family all the years of her life. Bobbie lived an amazing life. She was often heard saying what a great life she has had with her husband, Don, and her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She had a profound impact on the lives of those she met. Bobbie was preceded in death by her parents, John Aubrey Floyd, Ethel Blackburn Floyd and her brother Winfred Dale Floyd. She is survived by her loving husband and best friend, Donald Ryan Caldwell, to whom she was married for over 62 years, and her sister-in-law's Grace Floyd and Ruth Caldwell Lancaster and brother-in-law Glenn Palmer Caldwell. She is also survived by her daughter Donna Caldwell Rodriguez (David) and daughter Elizabeth Caldwell Nelson (William), along with her grandchildren Carol Rodriguez Hernandez (JC), Margaret Nelson, William Ryan Nelson, Christopher Nelson, Thomas Nelson, and Ava Grace Nelson, and great grandchildren Alexi and Gabriel Hernandez as well as many wonderful nephews and nieces. Bobbie was born in Loris, South Carolina on July 9, 1932. She was a graduate of Green Sea High School and went on to graduate from Limestone College in Gaffney, South Carolina in 1954 and The Medical College of Charleston in 1955. She married the love of her life, Don Caldwell in 1956. She worked in several hospitals as a medical technologist for over 14 years until she decided to give up her career and stay home to raise her children. Bobbie and her husband lived in Landrum, SC before relocating to Fayetteville, NC where they lived for 39 years. They both later moved to Ahoskie, NC to be near their daughter and grandchildren. Bobbie was a gifted artist who loved to paint and create Fabergé eggs. She loved her fellowship at church and time with her husband, children and grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, November 24, 2018 at Buffalo United Methodist Church. Interment will follow in Union Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held 1:00 PM Saturday in the parlor of Buffalo United Methodist Church prior to the service. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association (act.alz.org) in honor of Bobbie.
