Bobbie Belue Knox McGowan

Mrs. Bobbie Belue Knox McGowan, age 88, of 201 Partridge Road, Union, widow of James W. McGowan, went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, May 30, 2026, at her Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home.

Mrs. McGowan was born July 28, 1937, in Union, a daughter of the late Robert E. Belue and Mary Freeman Belue. She was first married to the late Harold E. Knox. Mrs. McGowan retired from Milliken & Co.—Midway Plant. She was a member of Welcome Baptist Church. Mrs. McGowan was an avid supporter of St. Jude Children’s Research.

Surviving are a daughter, Lisa Haney and husband Chris of Union; two sons, Gettys Knox and wife Tammy of Advance, NC and Ricky Knox and wife Janice of Spartanburg; a brother, Billy Belue and wife Rose of Spartanburg; a sister, Hazel Wright of Buffalo; a sister-in-law, Sylvia Belue of Buffalo; seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and 10 great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter, Kathy Knox; a granddaughter, Jennifer Boiling; a sister, Lois Allen; three brothers, Fred Earl Belue, Ray Harold Belue, Robert Belue, Jr.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM, Wednesday, June 3, 2026, at Welcome Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Robert Jarvis. Burial will follow at Union Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM prior to the services at the Church.

The family is at the home of her daughter, 201 Partridge Rd., Union, SC 29379.
