Bobbie Joan (Willard) Ward

Mrs. Bobbie Joan Willard Ward, age 86, of 112 Woodhaven Dr., Union, widow of Ben Ward, Jr., passed away Saturday, January 22, 2022 at Heartland of Union.

Mrs. Ward was born November 28, 1935 in Buffalo, a daughter of the late John B. "Red" Willard and Della Ford Willard.  She was a graduate of Union High School and Cecil's Business College.  Mrs. Ward was a wonderful military wife and homemaker.  After returning to Union she worked at Union High School as the Study Hall Director where she was known as Mrs. Ward"en."  After her retirement, she kept her grandchildren.  She was a member of Mon Aetna Baptist Church where she was a former member of the Connie Springs and Jerris Garner Sunday School Class.  She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Surviving are four children, Ben Ward, III and wife Sherri of Saluda, Patty Hughey of Union, Cathy Peahuff and husband Jason of Union, and Matthew Ward of the home; six grandchildren, Tyler Shugart and girlfriend Kelly, Jaime Giles and husband Heath, Brett Shugart, Taylor Cheek and husband Jarrod, Samantha Hughey, and Jacob Ward; two great-grandchildren, Christian and Nora Giles; two sisters-in-law, Carol Willard and Hilda Bailey; and numerous nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by five brothers.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at Mon Aetna Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Benny Green and Rev. Jesse Pendergrass.  Burial will follow at Union Memorial Gardens.

Active pallbearers will be Randy George, Andy Bailey, Boonie Bailey, Jacob Ward, Christian Giles, and Jonathan Bryson.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM Tuesday, prior to the services at the church.
