Mr. Bobby Franklin Vaughan, age 84, of 2500 Lockhart Hwy., went to be with the Lord Friday, November 15, 2019 at Union Medical Center. He is survived by his wife of 44 years Pamela Weed Vaughan. Mr. Vaughan was born in Union, April 14, 1935, a son of the late Elbert and Frances Vanderford Vaughan. He was a graduate of Union High School and attended Gardner-Webb College. Mr. Vaughan retired from the City of Union Utility Dept and had previously worked for Milliken and Co. for 15 years. He was a life-long member of McCutchen Memorial Presbyterian Church where he had served as an Elder, the Clerk of Session and Associate Sunday School superintendent. Mr. Vaughan was a former Boy Scout with troop #48. Mr. Vaughan was a veteran of the US Navy having served his country for eight years and a 59-year member of the American Legion. He was a member of the Union Co. High School Booster Club and a member of the Gamecock Club. Surviving in addition to his wife are a son, Jeffrey Vaughan of Fort Bragg, NC and a number of cousins, nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, November 17, 2019 at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Chapel. Burial will be at Union Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held from 2:00 until 3:00 PM Sunday at the chapel prior to the services. Memorials may be made to the Union Co. Meals on Wheels, P.O. Box 951, Union, SC 29379. The family will be at the home, 2500 Lockhart Hwy., Union.
