Bobby Smith Whitmire, Sc

Mr. Bobby Smith, age 72, of 1862 Hwy 66, Whitmire, widower of Flora H. Smith, passed away Wednesday, May 21, 2014. Mr. Smith was born in Pauline, SC September 21, 1941, a son of the late Sims Smith and Rosa Lee Bumgarner, Smith. He was retired from the Logging business and was a member of New Life Baptist Church. Mr. Smith was a Veteran of the US Navy having served in the Vietnam Conflict. Surviving are three daughters: Regina Faulkenberry and husband Ronnie of Hickory Grove, Pamela Arrowood and husband Dennis of Whitmire and Sandra Toomey of the home; a son, Robert Smith and wife Kim of Buffalo; three sisters: Sue Witherspoon of MI, Pat Akscin of NC and Betty Brown of Union; three brothers: Joe Smith, Rick Smith both of Union and Mike Smith of MI; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Mr. Smith was predeceased by a sister, Angela Millwood and a brother, Larry Smith. A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, May 24, 2014 at Wood's Ferry Recreation Center at Broad River in Chester County conducted by Rev. Shannon Faulkner and Rev. Todd Davis. Visitation will be held Friday evening at the home, 1862 Hwy. 66, Whitmire. Memorials may be made to New Life Baptist Church, 502 Meansville Rd., Union, SC 29379.
